If only this game had a group of players that can't use purple gear...

those players cannot participate in galactic command either. so the problem here is not even artifact authorization which CAN be purchased. the problem here is that upgrades other then baseline crafting ones are behind a paywall.

I hope Keith and the team are watching these results carefully. GC can work, but only if it feels run and rewarding, rather than punishing.

I would be really interested to know what the participation in the Iokath Dailies is prior to the patch, and after the patch. If the participation has dropped for those dailies then perhaps this is an indicator of how players view the time vs reward ratio of how BioWare have set CXP values.

Perhaps.

I know I've ignored Iokath since it has been patched.

IT'S A TRAP! I did Section X and Czerka. Then I went to Fleet to buy something from the Light-side vendor. That's when I noticed my Alignment had reset. I asked in General and several people told me it's a bug for doing Section X.

OMG I was Light 5 before that.

This happened to my Trooper when I traveled to my Stronghold. I had Long Shots and the mission that has the staged bonus in my log at the time.

If Keith wants the amounts raised he can have dissenters killed.

I will say I've noticed and participated in far more anti-social behaviour since this started. Ninjaing is up. Kill stealing is up. Adapt, improvise and overcome.

So it doesn't need to be this high but it does need to be higher than non-bugged. Why? People actually play the old content instead of whining about new content all the time as there's a point to playing it now.

I've seen as many as 3 PvP instances on Yavin even.

The bolded goes on in any area where you have people who aren't grouped together competing for the same objectives. It goes on with some heroics and now that people are running dailies again, it is going on with some dailies.

I'm not sure I'd agree with the increased Command Xp rate encouraging anti-social behavior. Quite the opposite in fact, because groups are forming all the time to run dailies that if anyone even bothered with over the last year or two, they bothered with it solo. I was even part of an Ops group of 10 or so random people steamrolling CZ-198, because why not? On Ebon Hawk the other night there was a group of 8 or so people running the dailies and RPing there. You have to balance all of that against the ninjaing, and the balance is in favor of people being more social, not less.

I haven't really seen this much on Ebon Hawk. So it may just be related to your server. Most of the time the people are considerate on Ebon Hawk. Sure I run into some from time to time but then again I have always send my companion in to kill the NPC and then I click on the boxes while my companion is killing. Have always done this since launch so it doesn't really bother me too much.

I would prefer that the daily areas have higher CXP as it is fun to see people again in the daily areas and even see the roleplaying again.

I would love to keep the idea of the cxp at a large amount even if it is on one daily/weekly per week and nerf the rest at half the cost for the week.

The Heroics on these dailies were hard alone, the reason why Bioware nerfed them to be soloable.. but now people are grouping to do it.. it is because of this cxp.

Actually Bioware should consider doing the weekly planets one a time each week, if you choose but also implement this in other parts of the game. The non gsf on rails for one. This would help people start playing other parts of the game that we have ignored.

The large cxp isnt really gearing us up that quick with all purples. we are just receiving conquests crates to open. The drops are still the same. Just getting the crates is enough to do it. Please keep this.

I think it is better this way :). SWTOR seems very boring in the late game when many players can not do ops (ops become harder and harder nowadays, and the number of participates is quite low :( ) but they can get some higher tier gears and interesting loot. Many sections have more players participate in heroics and world boss fight. I can see the heat that drives many players together to do more daily quests than the past..

I am also on Ebon Hawk, and I *have* seen it. There have been instances where people have waited politely to get their turn at bosses, etc. but I've also seen more ninjas and such. I'll also just take the damage while I get the boxes so I'm not ninjaed, but it does add tension.

I'd forgotten how much I enjoy Section X on the Imperial side. I find it flows a lot better than the Republic's missions. Did it twice today (on different characters of course) and it didn't feel dull. It was great... even if no-one teamed with me for the Heroic the second time

But yeah. Oricon, CZ-198, Yavin IV, and Section X, all with other people around. It's fantastic to see. 2500 (1250 after double cxp ends) per mission is probably pushing it, but taking the base rate back down to 75 would be a travesty. Give us a good reason to go to these places and more people will go... granted, I'd probably still do Oricon, and Imperial side Section X anyway.

I'm on progenitor, I suppose it could just be people "going out" as it's an RP server and they usually congregate where RP stuff is. Never really see anybody in heroics aside from the Hunter on DK where there's always a que, group, not a word said, dude dead, bye.

I wasn't complaining as I ninja with the best of them. Either I get there first or I don't. I was being somewhat glib with "anti-social" as is my nature.

Not much grouping going on though. Just guildies really.

Quiet simply that was the best week of SWTOR this year.

Better than Iokath

Better than the Casino Event

Better than Uprisings

Better than the Mannan stronghold

Grouped with strangers and had some fun.....did reminisce a little along the way of what the daily areas were originally like (ie. testing/hard) and kinda missed the challenge on that level.

...even a little open world pvp along the way which was nice...even though I usually come of worse!!

I feel sad tonight knowing this is going to end. I really enjoyed digging out all my alts and playing them again, feeling like I was accomplishing something with them, and not feeling GUILTY because playing them took away from my main.

I think that every daily and heroic quest should be granting 1000CXP bare minimum. What a difference it makes to feel like I am actually getting somewhere in game.

Quiet simply that was the best week of SWTOR this year. ...

After 3/4 of year grinding and grinding cxp, that was really the funniest week I had this year.

Players everywhere were doing the daily areas, just like 'the old days'.

Some players of our guild I haven't seen a long time were returning that week to quest together just for the high cxp-rewards.

So please let us know your decision aubout the upcoming cxp's for that quests, but please don't just nerf it back to the old 75.

The best way (in my opinion) would be to keep the cxp like it is atm ...

OMG I was Light 5 before that.

I just did Section X on my Dark V and my Light V toons and no impact. When you submit the bug, please try to identify everything you were doing/did - like I logged out when I finished the Aurora Cannon quest, or what you did immediately after leaving Section X. Don't give the details in this thread as it'll just get lost and our QA team won't pick it up.

Thanks,

Keith---

One of my guild mates had the same problem twice after doing Section X. He wrote a ticket and got the answer from cs that this issue is known and seems to be something with the bonus quest 'Ancient Prison Suppression' of '[DAILY] The Dread Guard' on pub side.

I have to admit - I logged into ALT's I've had benched since they dinged 70 because of CXP Grind.

Sure hope they see the numbers of people actually playing the game.

If this last week is NOT a wake up call for them to FIX CXP permanently I've not idea what could be. (Beyond rapid decline in players again after it's over). Last two Double CXP events I've seen large turn out of players. Then they just disappear. Give them a reason to stick around and they might actually keep a sub. Right now.. I've a couple days left and watching forums to see what BW is going to really do here. One hand... give players what they want and fixing some of the CXP grind they have been stuck with or just slap a patch on it with a nerf and call it good hoping they stick around.

I understand why you may not want players to be able to speed to 300 in a week on their first toon, or even a toon per faction- but this bug is really the pace that makes sense for alts. I think the rotating bonus on the galactic command is the right idea, and the legacy perk.... but the amount of the bonus for each isn't enough to change player behavior. This bug changed behavior and got people playing in areas that have been vacant for ages.

People grouped with random strangers for heroics, people forgot we were mad about the stronghold cap, we dusted off our alts and remembered how much fun they are to play. You've found a number that's compelling - can you stick with it? Rotate it amongst different content for a ridiculous (we know it's ridiculous but can we have it anyway?) amount of cxp?

You all really messed up last November to the point that I left the game and went to WOW. Keith got promoted and put the Gear Vendors back on the fleet. I returned to the game in May, just like I said I would, when I left. With that said, I'd like to say this.

This time, the mess up, got myself and many others playing, as much as possible this last week. I've had a blast this week. My wife, two boys, and myself have been grouping up and playing the dailies on Yavin4, CZ-198, Oricon, etc.... It really stands out now how much we've missed this part of the game. The KOTFE and KOTET stories were good one time through, but they didn't allow us to group up and play the story content. They are both solo content and that takes away a prominent part of MMO's, group questing. There are two must keep components here.

1. Leave the CXP on the daily quests for the planets. At least don't nerf them back to 75, as no one will run them anymore. Maybe they would be worth it at 1100 each, but I like them the way they are. At 2200 a quest it still takes some time to get to rank 300. (Just FYI, we all four bought Cartel Coins this week, that was $82 dollars to ya).

2. On the next expansion, go back to a new planet and don't continue the solo content anymore. After I ran KOTFE and KOTET with one character, I leveled all of my alts up in PVP and OPS runs. I'm sure there are players who like running the same story over and over, just as there are people who like to watch the same movie over and over. I would say the majority does not watch the same movie over and over, but instead will move on to something else after the first time through.

In closing: Thanks Keith for leaving the CXP on the planet quests for the week. I've had a blast running them, and I think a lot of the players have also. Good times. Please leave the CXP on the planetary dailies and please put it on your task board in the office to make sure the next expansion has a new planet and quests for groups to play. If people are grouping up, then guilds are growing and players are making new online friend. This is job security for you and your staff. Having friends online keeps people logging in for more than just the content of the game, it becomes a social gathering and that is how you keep an MMO alive for the long haul.

One comment- You said the majority does not watch the same movie over and over well I beg to differ on that scenario. How many times have you watch the Star Wars Movies? My boyfriend and I have watched them a ton of times and so has friends of ours, sot that scenario doesn't work for your comment.

A lot of Star Wars fans has watched those movies countless times.

Those and LOTR are at least yearly view-a-thons.

Same with some books.
