That's exactly what multiplayer is synonymous with. It's more or less the literal definition in fact. People use MP as an "outlet". I'm less of a jerk in game than I am on here but I still find playing "by the rules of MP games" is a good way to be. Trust nobody.

Yep. No more heroics for me, unless they have a nice green sheen in front of the area. They're already tedious enough as it is without Ninjas nicking everything. it'll make me competitive, I don't like being out ninja'd. Daily areas too will now suck balls. In fact nearly the entire game will become aggravating outside instances. I'll be spending more time in the heavily gated (by money mostly) heaven that is STO. Stuff respawns in the ground missions far faster in the rare occasion that is an uninstanced area.

I read faster than the people [ingame] speak anyway so I just space away. If I'm doing group FPs it's for a reason nowadays, balls to yackity schmackity. That said I don't start moaning if somebody doesn't spacebar.

I'm not Mr Money Bags either but good luck getting compensation for something they warned you about a LONG time in advance. Didn't get much out of them for the 5.4 debacle.

With the exception of two, all my names are altered common real world names or made from words in not so common usage. One second name was from a D&D prestige class from 3.5 rules. 4.0 made me rage quit D&D permanently. I got fed up of taken or invalid notifications and doing the above seemed to work all the time. One name was directly from a TV show from years ago, and the other I mentioned previously. Those I anticipated problems with.

I didn't go to the fleet yet on Malgus. There's going to be a real power struggle while the trolls and PVP GODS sort themselves out.

My god, they actually did it. I was expecting Servapocalypse 2017 and I got.......perfectly smooth transition instead. Aside from some settings not making the move but there's already a solution for that in another post.

Why would they give you another day? You had more than enough advance warning (i.e. it was scheduled) and of course all that lovely TOS bumph exempting them from such things. It's barely even a quarter in 'Murican currency anyway. My troll chow is now gone.

So far I've had to send a ticket to CS 9 times, one for a KOTET quest and 8 for my Agent problem (shoddy hardware my end causes holoterminal issues) and while they aren't exactly fast about it they squared it away every time. As for this minor but annoying issue, it could well bother newbie players who might think it's broken and consequently send a ticket in. So it doesn't need to be on the terminal at all. Players will run across it naturally after completing part un.

I figured it's as good a time as any to take a vacation from the game and burn myself out on a different MMO instead. There wasn't a great deal going on when I logged in to my prep though.

SWTOR would have been deceased a long time ago if not for the SW part. Star Trek Online suffers from a similar thing to this game, except it does roll out out content and allows players to add their own. Problem with it is, it's set up to be either a giant time sink or a real money sink. In fact the only way to get proper end game ships is getting your wallet out. A lot MMOs choose to go in that sort of direction. Especially proper F2P games which SWTOR isn't. They start to look like mobile games eventually with all the microtransactions. Prohibitively expensive to make and it's always a gamble as the return isn't guaranteed. MMORPG style games are going to die off if the current trend continues. A few of the old guard will stick around for a while but new additions will be relying on the addiction to retain players. Which is another thing, playerbases are notoriously fickle. Look at this forum alone to see how quickly players threaten sub cancellation over SOMETIMES trivial matters.

Tomorrow it'll be clean up day. All my legacy contains is mats, so don't care about that. Mailboxes will have either credits or non-sold goods, most are fairly valuable. Only on the imp side though. So that'll have to be done. I'll not be back in game for a long time after that but it'll be nice to come back to non-obliterated toons.

All my stuff will have expired/been sold by now but in no way do I trust the mail system to keep hold of it. I haven't played in about a week but I'll be doing some pre-merge/mass explosion/game and career ending cataclysm preparation.
