You have reached 3000 command tokens.....

What about light and dark tokens?

It seems they were introduced for cosmetic gear, pets, vehicles etc.

So if light and dark are for cosmetic, command tokens need to be for other gear or they end up being a second GC linked vendor that takes updates from the light and dark token vendors. As was talked about in the changes coming in 5.2 that there would be a way for players to work towards a specific set piece make it so they can be traded for unassembled components at a very high rate. So if upon reaching rank 300 someone is still missing a BIS they can work towards that piece along side PvP/OP or if they are on a server that is dead without needing to wait 4 hours for one PvP match.

It's a good opportunity to ask in this thread ... what else would you like to use Command Tokens for?

I'd like to see them removed and the CXP rates buffed accordingly. They clutter the crates.

But since that won't happen, maybe upgrading a bound command crate to a legacy bound command crate.

Would also be nice to be able to convert them into other currencies.. use X number of Command Tokens to buy

-Light/Dark tokens

-Bounty Contracts/Rakghoul Cannisters/Gree Helixes

-Unassembled Components

-Fleet Commendations

-GSF Requisition

-Cartel Certs

-various jawa junks

-alliance specialist crates

-Eternal Championship Tokens

-Credit Vouchers for 25k, 50k, 100k or so.

some other odds and ends that would be neat and dont seem too resource intensive to add-

-Functional training dummy for strong holds

-PVP terminal/dropbox for Guild SH and Flagships

-Heroic Mission and Priority Mission Terminals "decos" for Guild Flagships/SHs

-Crafting Consumable that increases Critical chance for companions on crafting and gathering missions

-Crafting Consumable that reduces time for crafting and missions

-Consumable that increases the amount of resources gained from a gathering node

-Consumable that prevents gear from being damaged on the next death. (buff goes away on death, more expensive version persists)

-Schematics for crafted versions of rank 5 and 6 companion gifts

-Titles, Flair, Tunings and other novelties

-Grand Chance Cube

-various companion customizations, or even some novelty companions (plenty of NPC and droid models to draw from)

-Dye Kits

Also, while only semi-related.. could we add some progress achievements and titles or something to the GC ranks?

Eric, I just want to clarify - does this mean that the Superior 100% CXP boosts will work beyond CR 179 then? Even at CR 300? That should be the only boost that's impacted by this change since (I believe) all the other boosts can already be used at any CR, right?

Hey TUXs,

To be clear, the 100% boost after 5.2 will work at all Command Ranks (including CR 300). The other boosts are unchanged from their current functionality.

I would use them for the types of things I was previously able to purchase with Data Crystals.

I *might* agree with you IF the gear listed on the alignment vendors was the same gear that dropped in the command crates but it's not, it's completely different. Asking to be able to buy the cosmetic gear (mounts, pets, armor/weapon shells) that drops in the command crates with command tokens is not, in my opinion, unreasonable. Also, being able to buy the cosmetic gear with command tokens does not preclude being able to buy anything else with command tokens.

I'd like to use Command Tokens to enable an option to block the DvL pop-ups.

I mean...I'd like to have that option without Command Tokens, but I'll take it any way I can get it.

Is my memory going? I thought we were asked this very question before Command Tokens were put in and our suggestions were completely ignored.

1 - purchase gear at a Tier below your current one, to fill in any 'gaps' in your set that are still there by the time you've moved on to a higher Tier.

2 - purchase the items from 'cosmetic items' slot in the loot table from the GC Crates.

3 - purchase Cartel Certs, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there's currently any way to get them, and it would be nice to see them back in circulation somehow.

What he said...

I'd add some command related decorations to the list. I'd prefer gear, even if it's current tier-1, but at least decorations would be something. The certificates idea is really good if there is no gear.

My last thought is kind of out there, but hey you wanted ideas. How about some sort of Command related Stronghold. It could be fleet based, on Odessen, or heck replace your throne room on Oddessen base.

As it stands, I have a massive stockpile and nothing practical to spend them on.

Future uses for Command Tokens is something we talk about often. In fact, using them to purchase Tier 1 gear is something that has been considered internally as well.

One change that is coming in 5.2 is that the Command Boosts will work at all Command Ranks. This gives more functionality for players who are at high Ranks as they can then still use the boosts on their main character. Especially to work into Tier 4 at CR 300.

Hi Eric,

Thanks for posting! Like Damask_Rose mentioned, there was actually already a BIG thread about this exact topic a few months back, started before command tokens had been added to the game. Here's a link, in case you lost track of it:

http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=906707

There are a lot of great and detailed suggestions there, I hope you will consider some of them! I'd post my ideas for more things to spend command tokens on, but, well, I already posted them in that thread. ;)

How about the line "Cannot be combined with any other Command Boost"? Does that mean if I purchased the 10% boost Character Perk for 3.5 million credits, I cannot use the 100% boost consumable "Superior Command Boost"?

Are you kidding? You're asking US?

YOU GUYS PUT THIS GOOFY SYSTEM IN. EVERY DAY THAT GOES BY WITHOUT TOTALLY SCRAPPING IT IS MONEY GOING TO OTHER GAMES AND NOT IN YOUR COMPANY'S POCKET.

All you have to do is roll back, then post a short apology. THEN GET TO WORK ADDING UNIQUE CONTENT TO THE GAME.

Yes. Your not going to see the type of change your asking at minimum till 6.0. Come 6.0 yes it would change to a whole new system but nothing will happen till then.

I would say the most balanced and desired option would be purchasing Unassembled components with them. This would greatly impact RNG and help players reduce frustration.

/agree

Limiting unassembled components to pvp only was a weird move anyway.

Atm only pvp players are allowed to upgrade their gear...most pve players are screwed cause they don't have a succesfully progressing nim-team.

I still don't understand why unassembled components aren't rewarded for master flashpoints, since they require much more effort than a random unranked warzone but I know this will never happen anyway.

However, to me unassembled components would be the best option to make use of command tokens.

Cosmetic gear would most likely be interesting to only some players and even these players will have no use for command tokens anymore once they bought the cosmetic gear they wanted...the same goes for mounts, pets and decos.

Exchanging command tokens for unassembled components would remain attractive for players so much longer and it also would help making the whole system at least a little bit more alt friendly.

1. Companion gifts - no one is paying 250, 000 credits for those gifts on Odessen ( or are they?)

2. Alliance crates- (we used to be able to buy those with comms).

3. Unassembled Components (legacy box) - Similar to the war-zone comms boxes so we can transfer to alts.

4. Gear - rating 230 and 234

5. Mods and enhancements (bolster cap rating gear) - similar to how PvPers could buy BiS with left over wz Comms.

Alliance crates ... I didn't even think of that. Yes! Alliance crates! And increase the reward to 2 crates per heroic past 65. Yes, I am actually very interested in that idea. I'm trying to get all of my characters who started KotFE to level 20 with the specialists and it's kinda slow going.

+1 on #1 and #2

Further to #3... and I'm not sure if this is a good idea, but what about adding event "currency" to be purchased with the command tokens - e.g.: bounty contracts, rakgoul canisters, etc? Just a thought.

:p

Cheers,

J
