  1. Images from TOR Fashion here...
  2. Cool to see a fix for this kind of issue...could we get the same for Kallig's Countenance?
  3. I haven't played for a few weeks, but the last time I did was my first time with the obnoxious new social bar, and I immediately came to the forum to find out how to get rid of it. I found a post that explained that if you disabled movable windows in the interface editor, then pressing escape would make the social bar disappear. And that did work! At least, I think that was the procedure, not sure if I remember it right. Was that patched so it no longer works? (Even that solution wasn't perfect, because I like movable windows, and I like seeing the population number like on the old UI...but I was willing to give both of those up to get rid of the social bar.)
  4. Ah, got it! I didn't even know there was such a thing as legacy currency now... Thanks!
  5. Anyone know exactly where the Completed Bounty Contract currency can be exchanged for tokens? I've found several threads about it here and on reddit. The most specific answer I've seen is that it's the BBA Acquisition Officer, which is the Mandalorian-armor guy in the BBA area in the Cartel Bazaar. But when I go to him he doesn't have any tokens for sale. (The jawa next to him, Jeelvic - Specialty Goods, has Rakghoul DNA tokens...) I've also checked all the other vendors in the BBA area and in the Cartel Bazaar, but didn't see anyone selling them. Thanks!
  6. Yes, bringing back the Heroic mission NPCs like Travi would be a good first step. Last I checked, the 'Man with the Steel Voice' on Hutta was gone too. But more, the Heroic mission turn-in conversations need to be added back...if people want to click something to turn them in remotely and skip the conversation, fine, but bring them back as an option for those who enjoy the story.
  7. A big improvement to gameplay experience would be an option to turn off DvL pop-ups! They can certainly distract from other elements that more deserve the player's attention...
  8. Fingers crossed for an option to turn off DvL pop-ups some time this year!
  9. 100% agree. And thanks for posting this, I really appreciate someone saying so. I mean, replying to a thread where the first post is 2 years old is bad enough...but when it's the better part of 3 years...that's just silly.
  10. Just curious, did Bioware officially confirm that somewhere? Or do you say that because you've never seen a way to disable them?
  11. Same for me. I played Fallen Empire up to Odessen just to be able to turn in alliance crates...and it didn't even seem like a Bioware game at all.
  12. Heheh, that's been my solution so far! I haven't played since 5.0 hit due to these. Yeah, I'd love to know if there's a way to disable those also. I don't find them as bad as the DvL alerts because they only pop up at a predictable time, and not unexpectedly in the middle of other things that I'm doing. But, I'll certainly use the option to get rid of them if someone knows of one.
  13. I agree, overall they did a great job with the UI customization in this game. And that's exactly what I did the first time I saw a DvL alert - opened the UI editor and tried to find a way to disable them. But, I haven't found one yet...hoping I'll hear from someone who has!
  14. As the subject says...has anyone found an option to turn off the Dark vs. Light alerts? I've never seen Bioware definitively state that there's no option to turn them off, so for all I know there could be one hidden somewhere in the menus. I've seen people ask about this before, both here and on reddit, but I've never seen anyone say they had found a way to turn them off. Still, it's been a while since 5.0 launched and the alerts were introduced, so I thought I'd ask again (also since my sub is almost done and I won't have a chance to ask here after that). And I don't mean closing the alerts after they've already popped up - by that time the annoyance has already happened (see below), and clicking something to close them is just another annoyance in itself. I mean an option to block them from popping up in the first place. If there is a way to turn off the alerts, it would majorly improve my experience of the game. The crown jewel of this game is story, and by 'story' I don't mean just cut-scenes - I mean story as it's delivered in a video game, which includes exploration, battles, reading the codex, etc. The alerts distract from all of this. They take you out of the story. As alerts, they were designed to divert your attention, and they do. But they do it for something that has absolutely nothing to do with the story. They break the experience. They're intrusive and obnoxious. I love the story in this game and I'd love to get back to playing (and spending ~$100 a month on CCs)...but not if I can't turn off alerts. If someone has found a way I'm ready to renew my sub, but if not...not.
  15. Yeah, that's something else I meant to mention - I would hope it wouldn't require a huge development effort to add some kind of toggle for it. That really should have been included from the start, but...much better late than never. It really doesn't seem like too much to ask.
  16. That's a very good way to put it! Exactly...there's no story rationale whatsoever behind the whole DvL thing. It really doesn't fit with classic SWTOR, where they took pains to put some kind of 'story' spin on pretty much everything. ...Still, I wouldn't object to it as long as I could opt out of it.
  17. Yeah, integrating it into the UI would probably be ideal, because that would provide the most options. (For me, turning it off...as long as that disabled the noise it makes also.)
  18. When the servers shut off permanently and the game is gone, and no one will ever be able to log in again - and there's still no option to turn off the alerts...then I might consider giving someone my stuff. Until then, there's always hope that they'll add the option to turn them off. Even if Bioware posted here and swore an oath that they would never add that option...they could change their minds the next day.
  19. That doesn't address what I was talking about (you may not have read the whole post). Once there's an X there, it means the damage has already been done - the alert has already gone off, which means you've already been taken out of the story, etc., and even moreso if you have to click on something. But, if anyone does know of a way to actually disable the alerts from popping up in the first place, I'd love to hear it. I've seen the subject brought up a few times, here and on reddit, and to my knowledge no one has discovered a way to block them.
  20. I only have a few days left to be able to post, so...this is my last chance. Please give us an option to turn off the Dark vs. Light alerts. The aggravation of them goes beyond just the alerts themselves. It's also in knowing that the developers of the game themselves are deliberately tarnishing the experience of the original content. Knowing that this game, one of the greatest story achievements in the history of the medium, is in the hands of people who apparently don't care about the story experience or the core of the game they're stewarding. As such, I find the idea of continuing to pay to support the game in this state to be intolerable. I've been subscribed most of the time since launch, and I tend to buy $100 worth of coins during the months when I'm engaged with the game. But I haven't made any cash purchases since 5.0, because I haven't been playing the game. I could spend YEARS more on just the class stories alone - I've never finished a class story even with my original characters, and I have a set or two of alts I'd like to run them with too. But, I have no plans to ever play again (let alone subscribe) unless I can do so with no alerts. That said, I hope the game stays around for years and years, and even decades, to come...if only because the longer it's around, the more chance there is that an option to turn off the alerts will be added. The new story content the last couple years has been, from what I've seen of it, very disappointing, but that doesn't matter - the original story content is more than awesome enough to justify the continued availability of the game. If the servers ever go down for good, I hope the class stories would somehow be made available in offline form. The recent leadership change gives me some hope that an option to run off the alerts might happen. If so, I'll likely be back.
  21. Very well put. And yeah, I would hope it wouldn't be that hard...it really doesn't seem like a lot to ask for.
  22. I'm hoping for one thing: an option to turn off the DvL pop-ups. That alone would bring me back to the game...other than that, my sub ends in about a week. I REALLY hope that wouldn't require a massive funding boost.
  23. It does seem like this change has the potential for some new directions for the game...here's hoping! In particular, as a player who values story and immersion, getting an option to turn off the DvL pop-ups would be a hopefully small change to implement, but one that would make a huge difference in my enjoyment of the game.
  24. I'm not sure if that means there will be some additional stuff not mentioned in the patch notes, but hopefully we'll get an option to turn off DvL pop-ups!
