Most likely because that combined with the IP was the number 1 selling point of the game that they hyped for years and years. If it's too much effort for such small amount of content, they should have realized this VERY early in development and scrap the idea entirely and just focus on planetary arcs instead. Instead, they have now alienated and disappointed a huge chunk of their players.

At launch, the leveling and story was the only thing that actually WORKED in the entire game, rest was unfinished, rushed or just plain broken.

They tried to do too many things and failed at almost all of them. And now, all they do is add CC junk in an effort to drain what money they can from those that are left. This Starfighter expansion is a joke, sorry. Not one person needs a pvp mini-game that will get old in 2 weeks and I would gladly bet that everything that doesn't directly affect the performance of your ship WILL be a CC item. EVERYTHING.

Damn... I wish I could disagree with you... But sadly I can't... Rp and the class story is what kept me playing so far... But if I finished them all... Well then I will have a hard time deciding, if I should stick with beeing a sub or not... After all if they should stick to their decision to never to Class Stories again... Well then have a good one SWTOR. Don't get me wrong the planet arcs are not that bad... But compared to class story lines they are a bad joke. Makeb showed that sadly. Even if they make the planet arcs more specific to the classes, it will still not be good enough. If you make story your selling point BW then you will have to stick to that. PVP and PVE which works the same way it does in WoW won't cut it for me.

Cross Server Queues

Either make it happen or explain how an entire team(s) of developers all can agree and state that this would be implemented with season 1, and some months later claim it's allmost impossible.

PvP Matchmaking

Add more requirements to improve matchmaking and quality of matches in both ranked and regulars. For example if there are 4 of any one class in queue for reg Arena, divide them into both teams. Add a minimum expertise requirement to enter warzones/arenas. Etc. (Obviously this requires Cross Server and for BW to end their "Quantity before quality" mentality)

Open World PvP.

Not 100 vs 100 like Ilum, but more simular to the Gree Event on a permanent basis. Open Areas on various planet that are flagged PvP and where there are PvPvE missions to be taken and completed. Make static bases/areas that players can flip to their faction and defend to get attacker and defender rewards of some form.

Also add overall incentive to actually look for PvP in the open, and remove the restriction to whisper/mail the opposing faction in an effort to encourage playermade world pvp events.

PvP Warzones

With Huttball as an exception, come up with warzones that offers new types of gameplay and strategics. Dont just reskin a map. The suggestion to create a "Huttball League" is also awesome and should be taken into serious consideration.

Minigames

Minigames made for both solo and group content should be implemented on a regular basis. Player Bounty Hunting, some form of vehicle racing and Sabacc/Pazaak are all good ideas. I'd even settle for a simple solo session of "Shave the sleeping wookiee".

Most of all I want some imagination and ambition in the technical design department.

And I'm not talking about better fps and/or more people on screen.

I'm talking about how quest design, be it class or planet arc, works. I want to see it evolve into quest having impact on the open world as I perceive it.

While WoW can radically change a zone based on quest progress of an individual player it's laughable how this story/choice invested MMO has nothing but stageprop scenery background that doesn't change a single pixel of the planet you just liberated/conquered.

Much as I would enjoy the feature.. um... NO. Why? It adds nothing to game play directly, yet it puts additional load on the servers. No thanks. The servers struggle when they are above HEAVY load as it is. We have 2.5 coming and while the servers have been doing better in recent months (due to lower overall high end loading)... it's going to be a gank fest once 2.5 goes live. I'm not looking forward to The Harbinger passing out every night again at prime time because it's running near FULL capacity.

In other words, don't do what I want, do what you want. Not a real argument against, thanks.

I don't think asking for a full fledged expansion is asking for this game to be like WoW. Other games have full fledged expansions after all.

WoW is just one example of a game that has had full expansions that one can use as an example....but there are others, games with lower populations than this one I would expect, like LotRO.

Note...I am not asking for a full expansion, I'm fine with micro ones. Just making a point.

I'm with Artemis on this, if I stand correct we are currently the number 2 MMO in the market -- WoW being #1. If we ever want to be number one, Bioware needs to start acting like it. Part of being big is looking/talking big & honestly we kinda come off like any other small time F2P MMO. Remember how we had the SW:TOR Guild Summit in Austin the first year this game was out? That was our Blizz-con, & that event was supposed to be an annual event -- hasn't happened since. Every year I'm glued to my PC during E3 waiting for some big announcement -- nothing. Bioware has a lot of work to do in the PR department.

I would personally pay 40-60 bucks for a proper expansion with a couple new classes, new single player expansion (class story), 1 or two expansion themed WZ/areana, a planet or two, an expansion themed raid/FP & maybe a daily zone. I'd even pay about 80 for a limited edition provided it came with some cool TANGIBLE stuff I could keep in my house -- T-shirt & some virtual items?

This is not a sports competition. Who gives a rats backside. It's this kind of nonsense that continues to get the hyperbole rope wrapped around the axle with MMO players.

What matters is are you having fun, is you server active and busy, and is your player economy on your server healthy.

A serious post by SirCopperfield?!

Or is my sarcasm detector malfunctioning again...

Lol. I'm going with serious even if it wasn't.

Collections items are great btw, but I don't think they are a priority. Legacy... they could do a lot more with Legacy.

It's why I'm in favor of them doing it DLC style, alongside the regular patches rather than "instead" of them.

It is something that is expensive and takes up a lot of resources, so ideally it'd be a separate team working on it like with the Cartel Market team.

I'm also pretty much resigned to accepting that's wishful thinking and it's a risk they'll never take.

I agree with this. DLC style content where you pay $5-$10 (1000cc) or so per class, would be nice. It doesn't need additional planets or models, and the story can run separate or parallel to the main faction story, like a specialized and story heavy side quest.

where are flashpoints in this poll?

flashpoints, operations and warzones, arenas are something that needs to be constantly added, that should go withhout saying. its what keeps an MMO alive. its not needed in this poll.

apart from those, I think class stories are absolutely needed. its THE special feature of this game and people want them desparately. bioware needs to wake up on this issue. makeb did NOT offer class stories, but bioware tried to sell them as such on several occasions. makeb was good, but it did not satisfy the huge desire for class stories.

on a sidenote, I'd love it if they added pazaak.

keep it simple like in KOTOR, but it would open a whole lot of metagame content. make the cards drops from flashpoont bosses, reputation rewards, daily rewards etc. that would be really great. even better would be if you would get some extra reward (like extra reputaiton with the pazaak casino cooperation) if you play it in the casino in nar shadaa.

Forum users, and poll participans are very small % of total player base. A single click on one option is very small bit of informaction. Poll could be formed in manipulative way, or missing important data, or alternatives. What is value on forum that post are often indeep, and feedback is with explanation. Votes do not carry explanation. Some ppl may skip explanation once voted, since they think its done. More ppl will feel urge to argue about poll result rather than problem itself. So yeah, i see the point in not polling.

regardless of any debate over quality or accuracy in a internet poll

I find it interesting that if you give 2000 people 5 choices out of 13 options the highest percent of people agreeing on any one thing is not much higher then 50% and the second highest content sits below 50%

I really would have thought that 2- 3 of the options would have been around the 80% - 90%. I'm surprised at some of those options not at least making such a large percent's of peoples top 5 if they are being honest in their answers

It may be suprising, but then... actually not at all. Since some positions with a good score have also a good reason to not be worked:

Class Story - it only matters if done right and awesome. And often means better than so far! You mean karma choices, and decisions which matters over time. Or no linear aproach to challenges. I hardly imagine respectful content in less than 10 levels. It is something which distingueshe SWTOR most from other MMO but also calls for a lot of work.

PvP content - some ppl are just not interested in pvp, prefer pve in form of alts or operations/flashpoints. Even fan of pvp could have complains to balance, or premade vs pug scene.

New Class - questionable if there is a gap left to fill. And whats the point in leveling another toon in lacking content?

Minigames - it dosnt make my char stronger. Is independent to build and gear.

Planets - yay another planet... which looks like others, and have some generic plot. Yay.
