  1. I'm going to guess you grew up with terrible parents who raised you to be a jerk
  2. nothing is being brought back actually they are removing story not adding more but go ahead drink that kool-aid
  3. bioware called the intro cut scene to strongholds a quest so anything is possible
  4. regardless your imp and pub characters do not do the same quests on makeb or anywhere else in the game except a few small quest chains while leveling, ilum dailies, blackhole dailies, sec x dailies, makeb dailies, are all different on each faction only oricon and cz-198 have pubs and imps doing the same thing. the "expansion" is looking like we will have to run the same quests we did on our imps if we want to see the pub story too, [like oricon and cz-198] the only difference from your pub and imp characters will be what fleet they are allowed on
  5. I have no problem with something costing $20 my problem is with the content. why are the already tiny expansions getting smaller if they believe the player base is willing to pay more for 3.0 then 2.0? why not hire the staff to develop a real expansion if EA / Bioware believes the player base is willing to pay more money now then before?
  6. same ops and rehashed flashpoints with no unique faction quests, or seeker droid like toys / missions??? why would I pay more for this then 2.0 as a subscriber
  7. you mean paying 20 bucks for rehashed flashpoints and a expansion that cant even deliver unique faction stories isn't enough to keep you subscribed... /shocked
  8. lol its most likely going to be more generic then makeb at least makeb the pub and imp factions had different quests, this sounds more like oricon where pub and imp will be doing the exact same things with ONE unique quest per class lazy developers cant even do factions anymore
  9. spoiler: your republic falls too
  10. and yet you still think that bashing the person responsible for it all [not discrediting the whole team but lets be honest none of them went to the doctors with the idea, and Casey is very passionate about mass effect and very hands on in the development of all 3 titles] is cool because you have some very minor gripes about gameplay and story even admitting you don't like things that are unique to the IP like renegade paragon interrupts. you are using Casey [and Mac] as a scape goat because there is things about the games you don't like, that is wrong considering how much work and time he has put into that game for US. not to mention how sincere he is about the fans, and the game. again this is a internet thing were people act petty and point fingers to blame people for their own hang ups about stuff or just to act like they are better then people who are a lot more successful and talented then they will ever be you don't have to like everything about mass effect, I my self have a lot of things that I think could of been done better / different, but saying that a mass effect game would be better with out Casey or that because Casey is still in charge it wont be any good is just petty, misinformed, and INSULTING
  11. I assume that your basing this entirely on a rumor from the supposedly written by Patrick Weekes post on the penny arcade forum that even Patrick came out and said that he did not write. again LOL at the internets
  12. yeah right when we are supposed to be getting PTS up with info on the capital ship / planetary conquests and info about season 2 pvp rewards too
  13. lol so then you didn't actually pay attention to any thing in the final hours of mass effect or any interviews while following development of ANY of the games or you would know that statement is flat out wrong, and he is the one who put together that team of writers and programmers and artists, and did writing and programing and artwork himself too. not only that he was very involved from the ground up with the whole game including music, themes, plot, characters, having choice, what kind of decisions you would have to make, and the normandy from your posts I fail to believe you have been any sort of mass effect fan ever
  14. oh the internets lol nevermind that with out Casey there never would have been a mass effect in the first place and all the hands on work he did over the years developing the trilogy and the awesome team he put together. [not to mention the awesome work he did on kotor] breaking the mold of what a RPG could be and the phenomenal universe and lore that is mass effect that they created from the ground up with the unique original characters that are some of the most loved characters in gaming But hey you've heard Caseys name dropped before so it will sound sooo cool if you try and act like he has no clue how to make a game let alone one of the most unique and respected sci-fi gaming experiences ever
  15. the comments in this thread are hilariously misinformed lol
  16. "based on random choice or personal whim, rather than any reason or system" sorry but it feels that way to me and bioware will never tell us numbers so I am going to go with it being arbitrary, my guess is they looked at a small sample from "their metrics" what ever that really means and picked a number, close enough for me
  17. 100% agree but there is still a progression track for upgrading the cap ship for that, and it sounds like it is going to be a lot more fun and rewarding then doing dailies, or selling off all my high end mats / good cartel items on the gtn. but to even begin working with my guild to do that progression we have to break a arbitrary 50 mill barrier.
  18. well since we know so little [thanks bioware Austin, honestly who announces the cost before the function or details of the content ] it is very hard to know what shape or form they will take place when live and how much participation is needed. if its one planet conquest event at a time so only the biggest guild ever wins I will call this dead on arrival LOL hopefully that is not the case too answer your questions: 1 I do not, but I do enjoy as much competition as there can be. GSF for example if the match making was really pinning aces against aces only and noobs against noobs only how long do you think that aces pop would take? luckily that is not the case because playing even against people with less skill is still more fun the waiting in queue, I also don't think that would be relevant to planetary conquest at all since it sounds like multiple guilds of each faction will be competing so if the best guild on your server is already invading X planet hopefully there will be still be Y and Z planet conquest to go for, if the top guild is dominating the server it is perfectly fine if the 2nd and 3rd guild want to merge to try and take a event from the top guild. but this should not be a necessity and since we know the guild tab is going to display how many points each member has contributed there is still a lot of fun to be had even if you have no chance to conquer a planet. basically the more people playing and the more options to enjoy the content the better 2 I am in a small guild with a lot of F2P members with absolutely no chance to compete against larger guilds from what we know of the point system. just last night I was on the loosing side of the vote to bankrupt our guild, which I consistently contribute the most to the bank, to buy a cap ship, we do have almost enough to buy the initial unlock [though we wont have anything afterwards] and are most likely going to use my nar shaddaa stronghold as a guild stronghold [as best we can] instead of buying a guild stronghold because all farming and donations is now going to be going to cap ship unlocks [probably for the next year lol] and no longer crafting, buying packs off the gtn for fun guild rewards or gearing our members / alts I would not rage at guilds or bioware Austin because we have no chance competing against some of the larger, very rich, and very active guilds on our server,[though I might if its only 1 event at a time and always dominated by the same guild every event, but at that point all the conquest content will be dead to me anyway, I have no desire to deal with being in a big guild of ego's nor do I have any desire to leave my friends or help run / keep our guild together while in a larger guild] we plan on going for the unwanted planets that guilds our size can hopefully compete for and leave the most sought after planets to the big dogs on the server [if that in fact turns out to be the way it works, honestly who knows] like I said just seeing how you compare to the top guilds and seeing what you can accomplish when you pull together is the value in guild completion / progressions, hopefully we can have some friendly competition with some of our "allied" guilds we run stuff with and maybe a nice little race to see who is going to progress their ships faster. hopefully this will be possible in the conquest system, and if there is a leader board I will love to see our name on it even if its at the bottom lol all of this is only possible with a cap ship that's why I am soooo against the buy in cost, that and I still want to be able to use what I have already farmed to get me a nice stronghold and at least 1 legacy tab unlock for crafting [80 slots free wont hold my mats ]with out completely bankrupting my own small fortune since our g-bank is going to be gone and not replenished for quite some time anyway this is far to much text for something that may all be pointless this time tomorrow
  19. what I disagree with is that giving guilds a cap ship "on a silver platter" will encourage them to use it which means jumping into conquests which means more competition on the server which means more lively game. the guilds who cant afford the costs currently are probably going to have no chance in competing to actually win a planet so there is still reason to join bigger guilds and guilds merging and so on, but if the guilds to small / inactive to actually win a planet wanted to stay small and didn't care about winning they are still able to do stuff together, see how many points they can earn in a event, get achievements, see where they stack up against the larger guilds maybe even set up smaller "meta" competitions with other small guilds / friends guilds on the server forums to see who gets the higher score even though neither will win control of the planet. I just really don't see ANY down side to every guild having a cap ship, it opens up so much possibility and the only reason I see to have such a high credit wall [other then just a straight credit sink] is so people can go "nah nah I have something you don't have" and is that really a good reason considering our situation in swtor, and its not like there is not those nah nah items already in game, we have multiple among different playstyles and guilds could still go nah nah we won the planet and they will be even more special because they will be the ONLY guild on the server to control that planet, and they can still race to see who gets the max ship the fastest still because all the credits in the game alone wont buy you the unlocks you will still need to compete... again I just don't see the down side
  20. this I think is absolutely the best solution and in no way trivializes the guilds effort as a whole or trivializes the guilds effort towards conquests, and I have said it more then a few times but people are so hung up on claiming credits are so easy to get, but not wanting to except that not all play styles are equal don't know why some people are so offended by a game providing inclusive content and are so supportive of excluding players, especially in this game, do we really have the numbers playing for people and their ego to be so belittling of how a players chooses to play? <---- very real question by the way
  21. but every one CAN pvp with out a credit wall and everyone CAN do ops with out a credit wall [talking about subs F2P restrictions are completely different] so its not at all the same. if you said not every guild can WIN A CONQUEST EVENT / HOLD A PLANET or not every guild will MAX OUT THEIR CAP SHIP then it would be relative to the pvp rancor and NIM OPs. but not being able to even compete or participate in the activities with your guild with out spending 50 MILL is the problem. with so many guilds breaking up and so little content released this year. personally in my opinion supporting these costs is not helping to get players back in to the game. a free cap ship [not saying it should be free just saying even if it was free] for guilds since there is still a hefty progression track and events for the guild to work hard to win WOULD bring in players / get players to return and still give them something to strive for and encourage active guild participation. win win
