Grammarye
Well, Amazon.com still list my order as dispatching the 19th, arriving 21st to 23rd, so I may get some downtime anyway (and not much I can do to pressure Amazon that hasn't already been done!) but I appreciate the grace period even so. Noremacv
We understand that for some, your copy of the game may still arrive on or after December 22nd. Unfortunately, we cannot extend the grace period any further. We suggest you contact your retailer to discuss shipping options, if this is a concern. Those people have probably been waiting for anywhere between 1 year and 3 for this game; I'm sure they can wait a couple days extra. It won't kill them. GamewizX
Anything goes, huh? I missed have missed that bit where the BUSINESS is always right, no matter how shabbily they treat their customers. As did the thousands of your fellow gamers equally of the same mind at the announcement of this news, represented on the boards. But sure, patronize away. It helps to build your reputation and foster team spirit! I do find it funny that you believe the customer is always right, though. That is just as far from the truth as saying the business is always right.
Feraele
Great, I love you BW! But now tell my why the web site keeps saying that my full game key is already connected with my account when it isnt! If you are an Origins customer..that might be why. I seem to remember that happening before, the key was attached directly to my account. Hmmmm thanks for reminding me..I am going to go look. lol
Bogo_Sun
I would've had the game delivered by the 19th (according to Amazon), so I had no problems, but thanks for doing this for those who aren't as lucky!:D:D

That is just as far from the truth as saying the business is always right. Off topic, but I agree. Neither party is ever "always right". Customers are like many women are... even when they're wrong, they'll argue to no end because they think they're right. If the customer was always right, countless businesses could/would go bankrupt within days.
shon_tsu
2 days doesnt help for australians who had to order from US I just got: Your Amazon.com order of "Star Wars: The Old Republic" has shipped! Your estimated delivery date is: Wednesday, December 21, 2011 That was the fastest delivery option. I've ordered a bunch of things from Amazon lately and their estimates have been very accurate for the fast options, so hopefully it will be this time too. Being so close to x-mas it might run over this time, but then we get a bonus 16hrs or so even if it comes a day later.
paulthegrouch
And THIS is the response Bioware gets for jumping to and attempting to fix things to please their fans. More sourness and self congratulations about being a "rusty squeaky wheel". If you don't like Bioware and are not willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, on this their LARGEST UNDERTAKING EVER.....then please go away and go verbally abuse some other gaming company. You are not worthy. I am sorry you feel that way. Perhaps you really think that like your compatriot earlier, that Anything Goes isn't just a song title, but a maxim for consumer relations? "Self congratulations"? People were shafted, even you if you could but see it, and those of us willing to help your beloved Bioware (and mine, I have pretty much their whole back catalog - as do many of the other people you deride) do the right thing by not sitting on our hands and taking the double talk for an answer, by pressing them to come clean and do right by us, we should get the brick bats? Okeydoke. I'm as worthy of respect as a customer as you and all others are, and the fact that EA/Bioware is now trying harder to reconnect with that fact demonstrates their agreement with me and those who share that view. Hence the post at the start of this thread. Good on them! It's a positive development over where we were at recently. But to assume that this would have come to pass without a single peep out of a single one of us when we as an entire customer base were taken for a ride over the grace period mess EA/Bioware made all by themselves, is a little much. If you only give credt where it's due - and never acknowledge the bad - then there's a problem in the dynamic, and it can lead the way to encouraging worse. Some of us love EA/Bioware enough to do both.

Meatmill
Really disappointed. pre-ordered it, even have put in my product-key. Still no Early Access. I would like compensation for every day I'm not in the Early Access. Because otherwise I could have just bought it cheaper on the release day. As did the thousands of your fellow gamers equally of the same mind at the announcement of this news, represented on the boards. But sure, patronize away. It helps to build your reputation and foster team spirit! Having worked in customer services for MANY years, the customer is NOT always right, specifically those that enter a business, and proceed to have an all out tantrum in front of their peers. Specifically those who are verbally abusive and treat customer service reps, abysmally. I have seen quite a number of people like that posting here over the past few days. The "Entitled" ...by that they think they can say, do anything to the person providing the service and get away with it because they are the paying customer. I have news, when in my store, we were informed by the boss that we didn't have to put up with those sort of shenanigans, AT ALL. When I worked as customer service for medical insurance, we were told we could give three warnings to allow them to calm down and speak normally. There ARE consequences for behaviours like that, despite what people believe. So the next time you visit a restaurant or a store, just be aware..in alot of cases they have the right to refuse you service and have you escorted from the premises. They do after all have a business to run and other ..more sane customers to take care of. I would say if people continue to abuse Bioware in spite of all the well meaning attempts to repair things..where and when they happen...that the same thing should happen to them..ban them from the forums, kick their behinds out...they are not worthy either. That's my two Canadian copper pennies. Edited December 15, 2011 by Feraele

Some of us love EA/Bioware enough to do both. There is a vast difference between requesting to Bioware that they right a wrong, and raging about it like a kid who got his candy taken away. That's the point. The vast amount of people raging far outweighed the people giving constructive feedback. It's not that people shouldn't voice displeasure, it's the manner in how they do it that matters. Edited December 15, 2011 by GamewizX

JSleeper
It'd be great if BioWare was perfect and never made a mistake. Since that's impossible, it's more important that they realize they have made a mistake and make amends. In this case--via getting retailers to ship early, adding two EGA days, and now adding two day of grace period--they have more than addressed my concerns. Credit where credit is due. Well done, BioWare.

Let's see ... the going rate for free early access days is $0.00. You have so far missed out on 3 free early access days, that would be ... hang on, let me break out the slide rule ... $0.00! Would you like that added directly to your account or emailed so you can use it later at your convenience?
