  1. So far, Skadge is the only Companion I really hate. LS, if I'm given the opportunity to imprison rather than kill, I'll do that. One of my Imp DS characters might kill Vik, but I'm mostly LS on my many alts.
  2. Given I have a number of other Companions to work with now, and they're not role-restricted, I've opted for to wait for them to reappear in the storyline naturally. My Smuggler married Risha, and I want the reunion to be special.
  3. Yes, Makeb is the Rise of the Hutt Cartel expansion. I ended up doing this trick five times when characters hit 47. I hit 55 before the final missions, so I'm saving those storylines for when I can actually get XP again.
  4. How about a story quest credit award boost to go along with the XP boost and zero-credit skills? I have so many characters it's proving impossible to keep them geared decently, especially companions. It doesn't have to be 12x, but even a 4-6x boost would be a help.
  5. I get Error 1003 when I try and connect, so something is still not fixed.
  6. Same problem. Just noticed it in-game.
  7. It looks good. Hopefully we won't miss one another...
  8. Works for me! Here's my character list: Republic: Raskindo -- 47 Gunslinger (Republic Main) Reen'doe -- 20 Gunslinger Steelbuck -- 27 Commando (DPS spec) Tehenna -- 24 Vanguard (tank spec) Christania -- 33 Sage (DPS spec) Ha'rex -- 18 Shadow (tank spec) Ruciana -- 25 Guardian Omical -- 21 Sentinel Imperial: Mago'rn -- 33 Merc (DPS, Imp Main) Steeldoe -- 24 Powertech (tank) Alcibane -- 18 Operative (healer spec) Ti'oxess -- 18 Sniper Doelean -- 24 Sorc (DPS) Stonegate -- 18 Assassin (tank) Phasma're -- 17 Marauder Arresel -- 18 Juggernaut You could say I know all the planets before Alderaan very, very well. Thanks!
  9. And I mean very alt-friendly. I have 16 alts (8 Rep, 8 Imp and 8 male, 8 female, for the dialogue options), 15 of which are not in Guilds. I'm mainly looking for getting through leveling content, Heroics, and Flashpoints with each AC. This is just the way I play. My highest is a level 47 Gunslinger about to finish Voss. I have a lump of alts around level 18 on both sides. The 10% XP bonus is impossible to ignore.
  10. Bioware, having a discount for subscribers to change anything is double-dipping at its worst. I was under the impression that once you purchased the Cathar you'd at least have one free species change. Changing anything other than species should cost in-game credits, not CC.
  11. Re ship customization or new ships: I'm disappointed, but understand there are technical issues involved. However, that doesn't mean you can't provide different interior or exterior looks that don't affect the overall layout of the ship inside or out.
  12. TOR was not a rushed game. Star Trek Online was developed in 18 months. I played that from launch. That was a rushed game and it still shows two years post-launch. I think BioWare's made some rookie mistakes when it comes to MMO game design, but I was willing to give STO over 500 days of sub time before I decided to look elsewhere. TOR is several parsecs more polished, despite the lumps of texture problems due to game engine limitations, than Star Trek Online was and still is. They'll fix it. I saw on Gamebreaker.tv that they'll be adding Guild Banks by the end of March. What they need from us as players is constructive, respectful criticism.
  13. I'm enjoying the various storylines tremendously. As an altoholic, this is like a fine wine.
  14. The vast majority of players haven't hit 50 yet, so this isn't really a valid assumption.
  15. It's great! Before, I had characters on Hyperspace Cannon I couldn't get to because of the constant queues going on half an hour and more. But now that things have evened out I can play them whenever I want. Funny, that.
  16. I think that would be a worthwhile change. I doubt you'll ever be able to control your ship from the inside. That would require a significant amount of tech. I'm hoping for some changes, too. But IMO a lot of your expectations are unrealistic. The ship gets you from one planet to another as you follow your class storyline. How would the features you demand here advance your story? What purpose would they serve? What you want here is a completely separate game. I never played SWG's Jump to Lightspeed, but I gather it pretty much was an entirely separate game from the ground. Star Trek Online had to basically do the same thing. I'm hoping they at least add interior customization, and I wouldn't mind some variants on exterior either.
  17. I'm very much an altiholic! Republic side I have 7 characters, partly because I didn't know what Advanced Class I wanted to settle with. My main is a level 31 Smuggler Gunslinger. Otherwise, I have 2 of each except for the Consular. And I'm thinking of starting another one of those to play a Shadow. I like the Jedi Sentinel better than the Guardian, so I'll probably stick with that character. I keep my Imp characters on a separate server. I have five of those. 2 BH, 1 Sith Sorc, 1 Sith Marauder, and 1 IA Sniper. They're mostly around level 17.
  18. If Bioware is concerned about client performance on this issue they should make enabling the "Ultra" level textures an extra step, say an option in the launcher rather than the normal game client.
  19. Disappointing. Thank you for taking the time to explain the technical limitations at work. However, leaving the low/medium/high selection in post-beta built in an expectation that each is a meaningful choice. It seems like the engine your chose for the game is not the best one for the task. I hope this will be fixed in some way in the medium-term.
  20. This is not a sandbox game. It was never advertised or promoted as a sandbox game. The "4th pillar" is the story for each Class. You can't jump ahead because that'd be like sitting down to read a novel and starting at the middle, going back to the first chapter, then to page 300. You wouldn't know what was going on, who the characters are, etc. This kind of complaint strikes me as buying a box of Wheaties then complaining they don't have marshmallows. Did you see them anywhere on the box? No? Then your complaint makes no sense. You're complaining about features the game was never designed to have. There are sandbox games out there. Skyrim/Elder Scrolls, Fallout 3, etc. The story element in TOR is one of the things that attracted me to this game. I have one of each Class, both male and female characters (and gender does make a difference in dialogue options!). If you're not having fun with this game, I suggest you find something else to play.
  21. I'm up to 28 and loving this Class. I'm specced into Sharpshooter, which means I can fire off a Charged Burst the moment I get into cover and follow up with Quick Shot, Leg Shot, Thermal Grenade, or a number of other talents. In PvP I don't worry about cover so much. Interrupts and CC rule. Diversion knocks IAs out of cover, Dirty Kick, Leg Shot keep them frozen, Hunker Down keeps the CC off of me, and Cover Pulse knocks them away for a quick escape.
  22. I started a Scoundrel the other day, working up the Sawbones branch. What gets me is the second healing skill, Diagnostic Scan. It does 20 points per tick. 20, for a total of 60. What's the point?
  23. If so, probably not equipment under their control. I know more than just my TOR access is affected here.
