  1. /signed. This greatly affect players like the OP. This is also very bad news for people who love to create new characters and go with them through their adventure. I will go f2p to avoid the xp boost. But this is probably not an option for you OP as you need access to WZs. If they decide not to give us the opt out of xp boost item, then its is finally (and I never suspected I'd ever say this) a SLAP TO THE FACE :mad::mad::mad:
  2. that depends on the definition of "out-leveling". For me level sync is too high -as we're 2 levels above the original planet level. And this was not few months back but 4.0 1,5 years back. Also the original class stories are for a journey. I cannot be level 70 Darth/Master on Taris -I'm still on my way there. I know you do not get it. And I have no problem with your gameplay style. Play as you wish. But bear in mind there are people, your fellow players you may/might not group up with at some point that are greatly affected by this 'new exciting feature'. The only way now to avoid being over-leveled is to go f2p and have our xp gain rate reduced this way. I'm sure this is not the outcome they predicted nor desired.
  3. You are planning 250% xp boost (not only CXP but normal xp too) active next 2 months. At this rate any character I play from level 1 will be very much over-leveled doing the content. I don't like this as I don't like to be over-leveled. The way I play I need to be close to the planet level I'm on, preferably a bit lower than required level. Why? The game is too easy and this is my way of making it slightly more challenging. Also this helps me to stay immersed and this is my reason for doing old class/planetary stories. IF you do not re-introduce white acute module -the item that allowed us to opt out of xp boosts - the only way I know to slow down leveling rate is do the stories as f2p. I do not care about CXP, galactic command and other end game other than KOTFE/KOTET which I've already done enough times. Do you really want to give people the choice: stay subbed so you can enjoy GC and CXP, go f2p if you wanna enjoy original class stories? I bet not. And I bet I'm not the only one that mostly just creates new characters to journey with them to the Chapter 3 finale. SO PLEASE CONSIDER giving us something to opt out of the 250%xp boost! Call it acute white module, or whatever you like. It can be even called unassembled elite crystal gearpiece or anything you can come up with. Just give us this option!
  4. the 'funny bearded guy' is actually Charles Boyd -his name just slipped my memory yesterday. He wrote the trooper story, so he most probably knows the class and planetary stories very well. But I guess he used to be low in the pecking order when SWTOR started up, and now he's the main writer -it seems he's mega focused on his own work which is KOTFE/KOTET not on the old content. He is righ on this as this isn't his job actually as the stories stay the same. its the gameplay that's ruined. Thing is: no one from the current team visits the older content so they do not realize its ****ed up bad right now. Now they even introduce 2 months of 250% xp boost which will make our characters level 50 on Tatooine -making the gameplay even more easy and tedious than it is now. KOTET and KOTFE are good stories and I enjoyed them. But because of the fact that we need to play them on at least 2 characters (LS/DS), most probably on 3 characters -I'm fed up with them at the moment. Would gladly go back to original class stories (I do it actually) to go through say smuggler story once again (I did it 3 years ago last time). The way I play I guess I'm this mythical "story player" whom end/group content enthusiasts seem to disregard so much. Yet I play and sub for this game for more than 4 years now. I'd love to go on and play the way I could. With abandoned original class stories, some bugged cutscenes, changed DS/LS gain and now forced 250% XP boost I'm afraid I'll not be able to.
  5. Same here. With difficulty modes -I'd LOVE Master Mode on class stories. But will play it just once on KOTET/KOTFE as I don't enjoy doing the same planetary story on every character. And I bet they'll decide that veteran/master modes where bad idea as few people do them. No, few people do them because they don't wanna do the same stories over and over again. With 8 long class stories there's much time between repeating same class story -KOTET/KOTFE is always the same, with just minor variations. Make veteran/master on class stories and I guarantee story people will come back to the game
  6. I sadly agree with posters who say BW abandoned original class stories. This DS/LS gain rate is just a part of it. There are also end bosses scaled back to level 12, unbalanced combat overall (especially uber companions), no engaging and challenging levelling content with removal of H4s and nerfing H2s. Its as if they're ashamed of the gr8 work their predecessors did with original class an planetary stories, and now they just want us to get instant level 60 new character and do their KOTET over and over again. I mean it looks as if Ben, or Eric or the funny bearded guy never touched original class stories since 4.0. They just level synced everything and moved on. Now they have their hands full with this GCP or unnasembled something and its unlikely they're gonna commit their precious time to fixing original class stories experience. I LOVE the original stories and loved the gameplay. Now u just can't go back and do them, I'm so sad what's been done to them. All dramatic encounters, with music, setting, warnings, preparations are roll over half of the rotation -they end before even getting into them. Cutscenes bugged. Weapons on companions changed, but not in cutscenes. Decent animations like ravage look funny instead of awesome (especially my BT3 Jugg looks as if he's directing an orchestra with a little stick, not waving a sword). And now this: major impact on the gameplay with messed DvL system. I bet they'll be looking into their metrics and assume less people are playing the original content because its old. Not because they ruined it. Same with difficulty modes -I'd LOVE Master Mode on class stories.
  7. Every once in a while I like to find myself a quiet spot on Tython. Love climbing mountains there. Alderaan too. But Voss is kinda my favorite now. The autumn colors are just like where I live. Its also open, serene, beautiful and big. I'm a big fan of Hoth and Alderaan too. And, I don't know really why I'm always eager to quest on Imp Balmorra. The music maybe?
  8. I can't think of any sane reason for removing that content from the game. But probably they did remove it.
  9. OMG, Rishi's cutscenes are broke too?!!! Good to know, I was just about to go back to SoR and do it with my SW. I kinda could live with my Torian looking like a clown with un-matched colors in KOTET cutscens. But if what I saw in Consular ship also is in Rishi cutscenes then thats -it. If I can't do SoR this month (and I won't with messed up cutscenes) then this is my final game over here. BW: Above you can se Aerockyul's list of bugs in cutscenes. Can you bother and tell us which of them were fixed in 5.1 patch? There are no save games in SWTOR -if I run my pimped out beloved character through a bugged cutscene I cannot rinse and repeat -its done and there's no going back to that cutscene -which were supposed to be a kinda reward for players. Now some of them are a pain.
  10. Would be nice to know what was fixed. More than 2 month ago I was put off Consular storyline because the Rift Alliance cutscenes on the ship had all Alliance members cloned, and sometimes meshed up together. I guess its a pretty important issue where vital cinematics are messed up this way. And there's no easy way to check if its fixed -I'm not gonna level another Consular though Chapter 1 to check if the bug is still there. Could you, pretty please, tell us which cutscenes were fixed. Is Consular safe and rewarding to play now?
  11. Yeah, IMO DS Consular makes for an interesting character. The story however is ill paced, which means you can get bored at times. But its worth a try, especially now when we level up so fast. Jaesa is extreme on LS and DS. Either holy angel or bloodthirsty psycho. TBH I don't like this character much. But the scene/fight when you turn her to the DS is very cool
  12. I get what you're saying and I admit that you make interesting points here. However it boils down to how you perceive your character, personal preference. Sure DS SW fills the stereotype, and is very plausible. That being said, I think the empire full of DS nobility (DS as the game understands what DS actually is) wouldn't last. Killing everybody that has other opinion? Decimating competent servants? Killing before asking questions? C'mon, even Baras interrogates his prisoners In my own canon SW can be loyal to the Empire (not to Baras) without killing everything on his way. Some people may have vital info, sometimes you can use your temporary allies for your own goals. Just out of my memory, 3 situations where DS SW fails: 1. 2. 3. Even on Tatooine when you meet Jaesa's master I don't see a reason to be outwardly hostile. We're not at war at that time -my SW is not a mindless animal. And this way Yonlach shows how ruthless he is wiping the mind of his padawan. Of course Baras has to die, but sparing his life to live in shame is also ok. What I mean here is: DS SW just kills. LS SW has many more options, killing included. Leaving your opponents terrified does the trick too Maybe its just me, but playing LS SW gave me better understanding what being a Sith could mean. In relation to the movies -LS SW is more like Dooku. DS SW is more like Maul. As for canon BW walkthrough -you may be right o this. But I've never followed official canons. Makes me feel 'streamlined' too much
  13. I guess it depends on how you perceive your character. For me DS SW was kinda psychopatic -kill everything that don't agree with me. Playing LS SW is not playing a basically jedi on the imp side. Its more about honorable warrior, kinda samurai or a black knight. You can kill without remorse when needed, but prefer to leave your threatening presence rather then a pile of bodies. Male VA did a very good job on that IMO. Going LS SW was like 10th character for me (did canonic 8 classes and then tried the variations) and it was a revelation. I was unimpressed with DS SW (my first character) and in awe of LS DS two years later. If I was to recommend best classes setup it would be 1. LS SW male 2. LS JK male 3. Imp Agent -female. LS, DS or neutral -all options are interesting 4. Slightly LS Smuggler 5. Slightly LS BH 6. DS Consular 7. DS Trooper 8. DS SI
  14. I'll bite Firstly, light side Sith Warrior setup give the best story in this game, so in comparison everything seems pale But IF playing a selfless dedicated for the cause hero isn't f or you, which means you'll want to go DS with rep characters, than everything besides JK seems fine. DS JK is forced imo -like not probable. This is a heroic class best played Aragorn style. You are THE hero, you save the galaxy etc. If this is not your cup of coffee -don't play this story (although its one of my favorites) DS Consular feels fine. You're basically (especially in Ch 2 and 3) a scheming politician building their powerbase. You manipulate, you lie, you kill inconvenient obstacles -all in aim to increase your influence and level of power. I very much prefer DS Consular over the LS one. DS Trooper feels as good. Yes, you are basically a trooper, so you follow orders, but you can do it your own sadistic way. This is kinda realistic setup, when a war veteran is disillusioned by the Republic, by the war -the DS trooper just gets things done. I played my DS fem trooper and her team as kinda Arnlods Predator team of commandos -ruthless, diverse, and efficient. DS Smuggler, as you notice yourself feels also alright. No need to go into detail here. So if you want a realistic, not selfless force user go DS consular. Although bear in mind that this is far weaker story overall than LS Sith Warrior you seem to have done
  15. ah, its so nice to feel like reach people irl
  16. maybe you should consider not using "the wealthy" title?
  17. and here I thought u're about all those "unassembled gear somethings" thingies that seems to be the vibe tonight...
  18. I guess same as always: grind the GTN, meaning spend all your gaming time making credits so you can buy those multi-million mods off the GTN. Ok, its late where I live, so maybe I didn't grasp how magnificent these changes are. What I get out of it is: I'll have to play gazillions of warzones to get the gear needed for master difficulty solo content. On my first alt. I'll have to play gazillions minus 10% of warzones (or not -this is kinda complicated for "streamlined" system ) on my alt to get the gear for master difficulty solo content. Or I can craft myself out to sell on GTN and get those hundreds of millions for the best mods? Or I can leave the game, which I'll probably do. This dev team is sure weird
  19. or they could actually play the game once in a while and see these things for themselves. What are we -quality control now? This is not some bug that happens only in certain situations on certain remote areas etc. This is a major feature/selling point of this game that does not work properly. Have you seen the bugged cutscenes on Consular ship? I'm sure someone put them o youtube. I'm first to praise good work when they do it. I'm also not first to jump and bash them for new bugs with expansions -I know they are bound to happen. But I expect them to fix major immersion breaking bugs in due time. That's why I feel they neglect vanilla game (story chapters). Which are still better than what they release nowadays.
  20. The ones when you are in your conference room with the Rift Alliance. The Alliance members are doubled/cloned. You see one talking and their clone is standing besides. Or, if I recall correctly 2 different person sit in the same chair (like a head is poking out of someone's chest). After the first cutscene like this, I realized there's gonna be a conference room talk as a reward for every finished planet. Didn't want to look at messed up cutscenes.
  21. Its been long time since I played a JK so I don't know how it is in chapters 1-3 but when you get Rusk via Odessen missions -he no longer uses assault cannon. Just rifles and sniper. This is messing with vanilla content, and I'm not content with that In some cases, like Jorgan or even Corso its somehow justified. With Rusk -don't know why. I'd like a companion with big gun, and now its a no no. Its a sad example how the present dev crew don't give a dime for vanilla content. For people like me, that can play end game content from time to time but mainly re-play original chapters (since levelling is so fast now) -this is one of the crucial things that need to be addressed. Things like messed up cutscenes on Consular ship (made me stop levelling another consular in Chapter 2). Things like final bosses downgraded to level 12. etc
  22. these kind of allusions are bad style really. There are some politicians in my country that tend to resort to that kind of allusions. These only lead to general hate. If you have your gripes with some game development, then write clearly -which decisions you didn't like and who you think the author is, i.e who you blame for these. Saying "he", "moved up in the ranks", "one person of staff" etc is IMO cowardly. You think Ben -write it clearly, and write clearly why. You thin Charles -same. You think Musco -also. Anyone else -same. It is only fair to call someone or allude that someone solely is to blame for all your gripes -only if you write clearly why. If you just sort of say something to the wind (as we say in my country) this is distasteful, cowardly and overall destructive. Say what you gotta say, if not than just refrain yourself from these kind of allusions. Forums may witness I have many gripes with the game, and with current dev team, and that I prefer the original team. But IF I'll find a certain person to blame (if its is really possible) than I'll write it clearly. This is the only decent way to do it. Writing that "someone, we all know, that has been promoted, and all the bad started when they promoted him, but I'll naturally will not tell directly whom I'm throwing at..." is simply ugly. sorry to say that, but I had better impression of you LA than this
  23. ok, ITS AN MMO! you got you answer, now sub or un-sub or do whatever u want.
  24. here's an idea: maybe they can mail you those resources, so you'll not have to raise a finger to get them? players these days
  25. and why does it matter? u like it: play it. you don't like it: don't play it
