  1. it was worth making this thread just to get the post like yours. Very well said On my side of things: I know mmo is a dynamic environment and need to be constantly changing. I just wish that with the changes they paid attention to older (but still very very cool) content -so that those changes do not make it dull. They should follow their own original credo and make it well balanced game play again. And H2's and H4s accessibility for everyone: there are no H4s now (except Aurora Cannon). These were my favorite parts of the leveling planets, now gone. And why? to make more missions for farming crates (or whatever it is they give these days). They made them easy, quick, 'streamlined' so that we would not complain that getting crates takes too long
  2. https://youtu.be/zawBaUxBX7w?t=8m1s The guy says: "we didn't want to make the combat too hard to pull people away from story, on the other hand we didn't want to make it so simplistic that people'll find it lacking" sounds like a good balance to me. It was ok before. Since 4.0 however, so for the past 18 months I find it lacking in original leveling content I personally gave up on that (and unsubbed -probably my last day on the forums), then I'm watching this video on your facebook and can't help myself to create this one last post. revisit the gameplay from starter planets up to Ilum. see for yourselves. It's not okay now
  3. just don't play Powertech. There, problem solved :rak_01::rak_01:
  4. sadly disabled people have hard time not only in computer games. Societies try to make it easier for them. However car's are not designed for disabled people to use -they can be modified to cater their needs. Same goes to -say special places on planes. You don't have a full plane with special seats for the disabled people. You have just a few, as those are just a small percentage of passengers. SWTOR with 4.0 changed into super easy mode, perfect (possibly) for people that are handicapped, boring for those that are average. And THIS affected us all. In my opinion BW went overboard, or just didn't pay enough attention to see how much harm they did to the original content with the change. So IMO the game by default should be on 'normal' mode, and easy mode should be added for people like the guys you know. Seeing however how much time it took them to introduce Master Mode to just KOTFE and KOTET I'm afraid that revisiting ALL the class/planetary quests is at this moment on the wall of crazy. Simpler and faster would be to buff up just several bosses. Or change level sync so that it don't buff us up 2 levels above the planet content. Handicapped players can always ask a friend to help them with tough fights, or wait for easy mode. This is the way I see it. This is why I lost interest in the game. I'll probably be back if/when I read they resolved the "game too easy" problem
  5. Weak story bosses problem should be finally resolved by the dev team because: - the story difficulty level is set by KOTFE/KOTET content as this is most recent dev work. Vayilyn fight, Arcann fight, Heskel fight etc are the benchmarks here. Baras, Thanaton, Vitiate should be as hard. - the above fights are difficult because they are story driven -Arcann has to be harder to beat than random grunt. There is much build-up before those final fights in original class stories. It is a huge let down that they end up before even full rotation is complete. Imagine say final fight in Arnold's Predator. If he one shot the beast we'd all be disappointed. Or Anakin-Obi-wan fight. Or Yoda-Palpatine. Hell, even Vader -Old Obi lasted long enough. Those fights need to be satisfying. People should be a bit afraid going through them. The fights need to be harder, but doable. As hard as Vaylin fight. Now they are a joke - people CAN learn how to play doing solo content. This is no pvp or ops, but its a good start. Unless the fights are done by the companion - After a satisfying final fight new players might get the appetite to check out the other stories. Thus staying in the game longer, paying for subscription The argument that we can always play half the game (disable your skills, dismiss companion etc) are put here by people who obviously (or admittedly) don't do/enjoy original leveling content. It is understandable that you don't enjoy it. To each their own. But why don't you want other people to enjoy their favorite aspects of the game? Do you care only about your stuff, your gameplay, your pleasure from SWTOR? If someone states: I love leveling content, play it often, and I do it with half my skills disabled and without companion please don't change it -this is ok. This is valid opinion. If someone says: I don't play it, I don't care about it, I just do ops and pvp. But don't change it, those whiners can always just play with one hand behind their back -this is just being douche.
  6. There used to be more group activity on leveling planets when there were H4s (you needed to group up for this, especially on higher level planets), and when pvp/pve instances were not divided -people used to group up to attack enemy bases -you could always jump in either to defend or to attack. Nowadays original planets are mostly solo content -very easy so no need to group up for anything. You could try joining a guild to have more social experience in this game -lots of recruiting ads on gen chat on starter/capital planets.
  7. I wonder how much would YOU enjoy your game "playing" it with half of your skills disabled and half of your team afaik. Stop trolling this thread, this doesn't concern you.
  8. you can't set 1-50 experience to Master or Veteran mode. Only KOTET/KOTFE
  9. yes, you're right. The 1-50 game is too easy don't pay attention to endgame people who just don't give a dime for 1-50 experience and want it done as quickly and as facerolled as possible. After all they still miss the fun when they could go back to planets and one-shoot everything (pre-level sync era) It is the single reason I can't find enjoyment in SWTOR again. With 4.0, while introducing level sync (which is fine) they made the game much easier. They powered up companions. They nerfed the bosses and mobs. They removed H4s, they nerfed H2s. They even removed Heroics conversations so that end gamers have more 'streamlined' experience -aka they would not complain heroics take too much time. All this made the game dull for people who just do the class story journey with the missions that come along. Its been almost two years some of us have been telling BW that they should revisit the 1-50 experience and bring back the old flair to it. but nope.
  10. As the title says. I think you should guys consider making this thingy to negate xp boosts be available on starter planets, not only on fleet. After all starter planets need love too! I know one can buy it on an alt and mail it (unless it is bound on pickup), but... why? There's a load of cool quests on starter planets that will get redundant for some people with the rate we get xp these days. IF you want to give us a choice, allow us to get the White Acute Module on starter planets. I'm no game developer, but assume putting it on the planet vendor is same hard as putting it on fleet vendor. And, in a perfect world: White Acute Module should work the other way round: it should GIVE people the xp boosts (epic xp boost, event xp boosts etc) not negate it. The game, the quests, the progress- all of those were designed with certain xp/level progress in mind. I'd say it is superior to the way we level/get xp now. Even though level sync. You should also add an advertisment on loading screens "tired of slow xp gain rate? get white acute module and run to the endgame as fast as possible" If I was the uber boss of BW and in charge of SWTOR, I'd make it like this: - normal pre 4.0 xp gain for all the players -that means slow vanilla progresing through the game - white acute module that gives all post 4.0 xp boosts available at EVERY vendor everywhere -that way all that want to get to the finish faster can have their way /thoughts?
  11. that is really good news. Its nice to know you guys care. good job!
  12. Eric, don't be afraid to post something even if you don't have any valid info for us. That way we know you don't ignore us. It is always better to hear: "you know guys, we're very sorry, we wish we could help you but the way the game is designed now we can't simply put an opt out without re-designing many many things" -over getting nothing on the topic and feeling ignored. This time your silence cost BW my sub -I cancelled it when patch notes were released with no mention of our problem. So I guess a way for you to go now would be to buy a nice fancy cup, place it in your bosses office and put 15$ worth of my subscription into it every month Anyway keeping my thumbs up for the positive solution.
  13. While I appreciate them trying to make an universal system that allows every player get the best gear, I don't really care about it too. Its just that I'm not traditional mmo player, I don't do endgame because its repetitive. While I enjoy grouping with others from time to time (well, used to enjoy) I mainly just play below max level -class stories. I used to group up with people to do planetary heroics -back in the day H4s were available. It was fun and immersing the way it was designed -you go about your own quests but every once in a while there is a quest so hard you need someone's help. Be it either H4 or a flashpoint courier. For H4 you usually needed one more person, but if full group of 4 formed it was cool. Now there are no H4s, and H2s are solo faceroll. Flashpoints are full of endgamers that want them done as quick as possible to get their gear progression -not fun too. So for me CXP is also just meh
  14. You'll need to ask in-game. Non subscribers can't post on forums, so you'll not get valid info here. I know for a fact that you get xp slower when preferred. But does the new exciting boost apply to f2p or not -I'll see in 11 days
  15. they can, but poorly. You get like 5 WZs a week so if you are a dedicated pvper you need to spend cartel coins on weekly passes. Never bought a pass so I don't know how it exactly works. Either way you pay them if you want to pvp. I'm done paying for a game that's gets worse all the time. It used to be so fun game. And they just ruin it bit by bit
  16. you probably lost the word "option" from the thread title, no matter the post itself.
  17. Ok, so we've been ignored, as predicted. BW, you have this thread where player says your "new exciting feature" 350%xp boost ruins their pvp game: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=913595 you have this thread http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=913546 and you have the thread we're in. In all those threads many people tell you they'd want an opt out. The feature that HAS BEEN in the game and therefore should be somehow easy to implement again. Yet you choose to ignore us. Can't you do anything right? You implemented Galactic Command and ruined end-gamers' fun. Nowadays you spend ALL your time to try to fix this. Now you implement new leveling event WITHOUT an opt out and you ruin the other players fun. If you see your sub numbers dwindling again -look no further. You ignored the warnings, you have another group of players unsatisfied. Anyway, this is the last straw for me. Good bye
  18. Same here, I also created a thread about it. Looks like we were all ignored. And now lets wait for trolls all to happy to tell us we play this game wrong
  19. I still remember your rage when the slot machine drama unfolded. Both u and TUX don't give a dime for story playing. Been this as long as I remember. The difference is I don't dismiss topics that I don't care about. The over-leveling is a problem for some people in this thread and in another one on forums these days. We want this addressed. Its not like we're demanding 8 new class stories, do we? You just love to combat people here on forums.
  20. Why don't you play only merc, sorc or whatever class is OP nowadays? Who needs class balance? Wasting a minute of Dev time on this would be ridiculous given the current state of the game. Or get excited with your RNG crates? Not having fun? Yeah, me to. You don't see me posting idiotic ideas on the topics you care about.
  21. Great. I'm happy for you, that you can play your way and enjoy the game. I and others want an item that will let us enjoy the game the way we play it. And it will in no way affect your gameplay. That way more players will be happy. More happy players means better funding for the game, more people playing, queuing, selling on the GTN etc. It is advantageous for everyone. Don't see why people who don't care, care enough to oppose this.
  22. what I want is simple: give us the way to opt out of this. I get it that you don't get it. Especially reading how you worded "the only possible perceived negative effects of..." You presume you know all the negative effects and that you singled out "the only problem". And you presume that level sync is the problem here -therefore you look at it as the source of the problem, while also referring to it as a solution: "With level sync, nothing interrupts your enjoyment of class story". Wrong again. You presume you know ALL reasons for my enjoyment of class story. Pretty arrogant, I'd say. I'll risk a statement, and unlike you I assume I might not be right on this, that you play the game differently than I do. That's why, despite your own self-entitlement you don't understand the motivation of people like me, that request some changes in planned game development, this time for new extra xp boost. I'm not sure you bothered to read what I actually wrote, and I hope if ever any BW employee does actually read this they put more attention to it than you did, but I stated that myself, and I'm pretty sure some other players, actually work against the level sync and epic story boost -we try to be lower than the max level that level sync allows. This is the only way we can somehow enjoy the gameplay (not the story itself) that has been dumbed down with level sync. I do not enjoy going through a planet with so little effort as has been introduced with "streamlining" the game with 4.0. I do not enjoy being two levels above the actual planetary content which was implemented with level sync. That makes me going ways to avoid the actual game content: side missions, flashpoints, pvp. Things I enjoyed before 4.0. You see -its not level sync that's the problem -the problem is the fast way we gain levels and power. Being one of those players that do not find it fun to faceroll over leveling content I am not happy with ending up 2 levels above the content. I look for and find ways to be a bit below the required level. And no, I don't want to run naked or without companions. I find gearing and going with companions an important and fun part of the experience. Now with planned 2,5 times xp gain rate -there is no way to beat this. I'll end up 10 or more levels above the content. Effectively 2 levels above it (with level sync), which will ruin my fun. Now I really do not see a valid reason why they could not provide white acute crystal -the thing that would let me level at my own rate to the game. At the same time I know how they feel about original content -they kinda wish it wasn't here, so I do not expect them to spend any time they have on putting this thingy in-game. That is why I'm informing them that IF I'll be playing SWTOR, I'll be doing it as f2p -and try to find my enjoyment in this model. Did it once and it was pretty much ok. I can do it again. But it is stupid design on their part to make the game more enjoyable for some players in f2p model over subscription.
  23. if they read your post I bet their solution'll be to remove the suggested planet level display. Its the way they want us to play this game:D
  24. so this is a no win situation anyway? hope not. What I'm really hoping on is they give us the item to negate the xp boost. What I'd like to see (but I've abandoned all hope) is that they actually pay attention to original class/planetary story game play and bring back the old flair to them
