  1. We're all screwed up by this and yet you still try to poke some topics here, Cersei (I'm sorry, just finished watching last episode of Game Of Thrones ) Might be the case you're quickly assuming here, but it is entirely possible that some scruffy looking Samwell Turly from Basement Maintenance Quality Foolproof thought it was a great idea to improve the game -after all more popping up windows prove there is still some work being done on the game Thing is sometimes most logical or probable solutions die in collision with prosaic and chaotic and totally unpredictable real life. We could chalk it up like champions and adapt or we can point out that what might seem like a good idea for a developer, or (as you assume) something that makes work less of a chore for BW employees -is a chore and inconvenience for their love-starved, diminishing but still faithful player base. We're all taking it lightly here, so I'm also less then serious here PS: sorry for bad grammar - I'm doing my best here, but English isn't my main
  2. heh, we share the same modus operandi. The only difference is I tried GC out of curiosity. Climbed up to level GC level 17 and gave it up
  3. these are new. they weren't present this spring. If someone finds the way to turn them off pleas LET ME KNOW. or better: make a sticky on general forums
  4. as the title says. If I go to pvp instance, I would like to know ho many opposite faction players are available, ehm, present
  5. You know what they'll come up next? That the devs have limited resources and they should not "waste" them for something that isn't new endgame content. I've been in these kind of discussions before, nothing new. It is Keith's job to decide what can/should be done or prioritized. The game producers know what resources they have, what can be done etc. I don't wan't forum dwellers to tell me what the devs shouldn't even touch. I want devs themselves to communicate that. These forums would be much better if people discussed ideas, not bashed every idea because they think there are more important things to fix in game. If I was Keith I'd actually want all the ideas coming, so that I can decide whether I should try to do it or not. But every time someone has an idea there has to come some type of Andryah to tell us this is a bad idea because this is not something that caters to what Andryah wants. Again: discuss the ideas, challenge them. Prove they would have bad/good impact on the game. But do not hush them because your personal pet idea needs to be addressed first. I don't know if population of the game is declining, but I see definitely there are much less people on forums. There's like 20 people here, beating the GC idea over and over again, and hushing everyone that dares to bring up something that isn't endgame new content activity. I know I don't want to come up with new ideas for the game here -there seems to be no point. But I'll support every idea that might have positive impact on my game style. At the same time I will not oppose those that propose changes to parts of the game I don't play.
  6. I do not necessarily agree that this is ALWAYS a case. What I imagine now is: Keith and team try to find a way to make the game more appealing for players. This means: for different groups of players. We have solo, pvp, pve, rpg and other elements in this game. The trick is to try to make as many aspects of the game as possible appealing to the fans of each game type. Sometimes this is either/or, sometimes they could introduce an OPTION that some players will use, while others will not. If you look at the threads about: what u most like in SWTOR -doing vanilla stories always gets mentioned a lot. I'm no mmo expert, but from what I hear the endgame aspects of SWTOR are medicore, average. They do not stand out as the best in the genre. Also new story content isn't as good as the vanilla. Keith and team are doing their best to improve new content and I wish they will be able to. But it is a big waste to abandon tons of content there already is in game and is great. New players coming to the game would not necessarily come for those 'exciting' raids or ranked pvp. They could grow to like it, but they should be able to experience the best part of this game in a best possible way. What this game has (and this is a fact, not only my opinion, although opinion based ) is the best story of all mmo's And this is now the only SW rpg to play. So I think rejuvenating vanilla stories and game play experience should not be neglected. And this could be made as an OPTION -so that it would not ruin the experience for endgamers, but would improve the enjoyment of story/casual/rpg/solo you name it player that love their journey through Hoth or Alderaan you treat the vanilla game as a means to get to 70. So what enables you to get to endgame asap is good, and everything that hinders it is bad. This is your game style so from your point of view the changes made to vanilla are good. In my point of view those changes are bad. For my game style. IF they would give us an OPTION for me to level up at slower pace, for you to have an alt instant ready for endgame we both would be satisfied players. Back to the OP. The idea is actually very good, because it does not in any way hinder anyone, but enables old great content to be interesting for large part of player base. If endgamers that level another alt join me in lowbie pvp -both groups win.
  7. I've seen you in better form. this is just your opinion. I disagree. IMO level sync and heroics were changed so that endgamers had the reason to go back to older planets, get companion gifts or whatever heroics were giving in 4.0. Nerfing heroics and whole leveling game was aimed for endgamers to have fast streamlined travel to 65 and the 70. This obviously was good for endgamers but was bad for players like me. Call us story players, rpg players, solo players etc. If I want good SW rpg I come to this game. But the experience is worse than it used to be no I don't. I do not comment on GC because i'm not using it. You missed your rant here. What I see is pvp players hurt because of same gear for pve and pvp, which creates imbalance. Pve players got hurt with changed ability animations to cater for pvp players. All hurt because of class balance. Story players hurt because endgamers need to get to max level asap. and so on What I personally would like to see is kinda separate conditions for different game styles. For example: pvp gear Or instant max level toon for those who don't want to "waste" their time on vanilla planets Or some meaningful rewards for leveling content, such as OP proposes in his post
  8. these are speculations presented as facts. I also have an issue with speculations presented as facts. edit: I see I'm not the only one to observe your double standards I see many Living Legends with Legendary Player flair leisurely spending their time on vanilla planets. Just like me. We sometimes discuss the game itself and some people detest rushing to 70. I wouldn't be so bold to state what majority wants or not. But IMHO the players that do like vanilla content (in my -again- humble opinion the best content in game) make up a significant portion of our player base. All the changes with 4.0 and 5.0 were aimed at endgamers -to make them level faster and grow roots watching slow pace of new content coming. (this is illogical by the way: burn through most of the game content as fast as you can so you can bash the devs that they cant release new things fast enough). This hurt the players that do not care for endgame activities. I'd like for a change that Keith and team take a look at leveling game and try to prevent all this wonderful content go to waste. Lowbie pvp does not pop because there are no pvp comms to gather and use. Lowbie crafting is useless, because we do not really need gear with enemies nerfed and companions maxed out. I'd say now leveling crew skills is a grind itself as one does not need any mats/gear below max level. What is a cap now 600? All in all maybe a good solution would be to grant people free (no tokens needed) option to create level 70 characters, so that they would not need to do vanilla stuff they're so bored of. In that way vanilla game could return to kind of pre 4.0 state? just a though
  9. it finally popped yesterday. It was arena. 4 vs 3 No pop since. I gave it up. Hey devs: if you're wondering why no one does lowbie pvp anymore: read this thread
  10. One great idea and one imo wrong assumption. I support your idea of cxp below 70 in your thread. Here I'd like to comment on No one want to play MMO content below lvl 70 and they all want fast XP event so they can rush to 70 to grind CXP Firstly, not "no one" as I want to do just that, and don't want to rush or even get to 70 -so that is at least one (not no one) What I've seen last days was many people on Coruscant and Taris (haven't go further with my smuggler yet). 90% of them were kinda anti-social -they didn't group, didn't chat etc. It took huge effort on my side to ignite some light chit chat on gen chat. I always imagined endgame pve or pvp players as social ones: in guilds, grouping up and so on. So all these silent gamers on Coruscant and Taris surely can't be all just endgamers rushing their alts. I think many of them are single player gamers, rpg games players, who came to SWTOR from games like Skyrim or Dragon Age or Mass Effect. They are not used to mmo social aspect so they do not participate. I personally think a huge part of our playerbase are the ones that want their rpg adventure, not necessarily mmo experience in this game. If so, then the vanilla adventures are the ones most important to them. I don't know how many they are, but I'll bet its a significant part of playerbase. I wish Keith and team would sometimes think of those players too.
  11. this is actually a very nice idea. I'll comment it from my point of view -the person that does not need/want cxp or rather: I do not like grind. All I play in SWTOR are vanilla stories (class, planetary, various quests etc) and during the leveling adventure I also craft and like pvp. I don't join the cxp hunt because the activities that give cxp are repeatable -we get cxp for doing basically the same things, where I get my kicks from my character development and their story progressing. Another factor is: at 70 cxp starts from 0, meaning I am weak in pvp and can be a hindrance at pve (having low rating gear). So if doing side quests, lowbie pvp or anything else while leveling would amount for some cxp for my endgame, I mighty consider joining it. But what is more important: this would bring more people to leveling game. No rush to max level, just enjoy the content. More people to queue for group activities like pvp. What I imagine, would be an event like rotation. For example one week would give bonus cxp for pvp, the other for crafting and so on, a bit like conquests. This might or may not affect my willingness to play, but it sure would make more people take their time on these great designed vanilla planets -which could lead to better experience for everyone,
  12. so the said truth is: people don't play for fun, just for rewards that are supposedly to lead to fun later...
  13. Maybe I wasn't clear on this: 400 characters below level 70. I'm not talking all population, but only characters that could, if the players were interested participate in lowbie pvp. So less then 2% of players that DO NOT grind cxp play pvp. Or dont play as there is no pop . I would expect much more endgamers in pvp (max level pvp) given how much attention is put to class balance
  14. ah, ok. sorry. But still, 400 people (my estimate) eligible for lowbie pvp and not even 8 for arena? So its like not even 2% of leveling players do pvp...
  15. yeah, but these ones are for max level pvp, not lowbie. I bielieve the brackets are 10-69(xp rewards) and 70(cxp rewards)
  16. u're probably right. It is said that too fast xp gain rate killed not only low/mid crafting but also pvp for me. I'm back from a 6 months break, and I don't recall it being that bad in spring I wonder what all those players do. rarely anyone chats, no pvp, no WB hunts -I'm no social beast in this game, but this silent leveling is kinda creepy
  17. Hi, yesterday (Monday) on Progenitor. I was playing throughout all day in 2 hours intervals with my WZ button switched on. I was feeling like some pvp would be a good idea. Guess what: no pop I know Mondays are worst days for it, but in the evening there were over 40 people (below max level) on Coruscant. I think it is safe to assume there were more than 200 people rep side eligible for lowbie pvp on all other planets. That would make at least 200 people in game on imp side too. I can't believe there were not 8 people in wz queue (just for the arena?) throughout all day My character was a bit bugged (couldn't send her armorings crafted by my alt -something about inbox full) so maybe this prevented me from getting to WZ? If so: maybe it happened to many others... But if not: is there something wrong with lowbie pvp that no one wants to do that? I know the devs promised to talk to us (which they still rarely do) and it'd be nice to know if there were actually multiple lowbie WZs taking place (and I was bugged), or there is a big problem with lowbie pvp population -in that case I'd like to know if there are any ideas to make it more attractive?
  18. Favorite: LS Sith Warrior -feels so much more interesting than DS SW Least Favorite: LS Consular -character seems bland. DS Consular feels better There are also great chunks of story that I personally love: Imperial Agent on Balmorra -infiltrating the terrorist cell -I'm always excited when I get to Balmorra Trooper: Chapter 2 finale: attack on a space station. Brings back best Mass Effect memories Jedi Knight duelling Lord Praven on Tatooine (I wish Praven was harder to kill after vanilla nerf, ehm: streamlining)
  19. how about Cuba and other islands? and the ones already in ruins?
  20. same here, I wish they'd give us an option to slow down the leveling. Maybe not to the vanilla pace, but 2x vanilla pace would be ok.
  21. hah! same with me! I love lowbie pvp. The max level pvp? too serious for me
  22. Voices go along with personality -and generally the whole NPC Fauler -the SIS guy on Tatooine (planetary story arc) is very cool. I do the quest just to have a chance to interact with him For PC characters: I'm most impressed with male SW voice. I played male male SW only LS but the voice is just... fitting. Very much fitting. Great job
  23. So, when you log into the game, what's the most important aspect of this game for you? The one you wish to see improved, the one you'll quit if they mess it up? is it the thirll of pvp warzone? or is it a sense of accomplishment in ops? finishing difficult FP? acquiring new GC level? and why? for me: it's class stories. They've messed them up with 4.0 and I've quit. Now with Keith as the producer I hope they're gonna get it back on the right track
  24. same here. this is my un-sub reason. Will come back if I hear that they repaired the leveling game. Not sure how, but I can post here even without an active sub
