  1. Russians.. man you got Russians! Damn Russians make the best boys they always got your back and always ready to cyka the CRAP out of some noobs

:p on jc most of the time people don't even pick up the ball in huttball lol it's as if they don't even know it's there and go full ape mode and dps for 12 minutes... so you got us beat there :p

hahahah сука is a noun LOL :D:D:D:D:D:D admitedly i only know like 1 other russian on the server besides myself and i only count cause live here lol:eek::eek::eek:

  2. I foresee possible gaps in gear tiers months down the line. Currently, everybody is equal because most players are still tier 1 (besides exploiters). Again, BioWare has metrics and they will make sure that the gear gap between players does not become too large. Unlike pre-5.0 where BioWare did not have any control over gear and whether players had access to gear, BioWare has absolute control now.

If they see there is a huge disparity between most players being tier 2 and 3 while newcomers are tier 1, they can implement systems to either provide rapid gains for CXP or perhaps even the vendor idea Ben suggested in the last Producer Live Stream.

BioWare isn't just going to sit on their hands for an entire year and decide to make fixes in the next expansion. They've already indicated Galactic Command is a foundation for the game and that they needed it in the game to see how it functions before they could make any rapid changes to the system. This is merely phase one of Galactic Command and more phases are coming.

your faith in BioWare is astounding, are you SURE you've been here 5 years non-stop?? 0.o

these ideas i might actually get behind. but it goes without saying they need to increase the CXP gain from all sources to be on par with PvP lol. because after they nerfed the gold adds, heroics are certainly not very viable option. and ofc MOST people don't do gsf at all lol. :D:D

  3. You mean they chose not to get into a group. Key difference.

Last I checked, the ability to form groups was not bestowed via RNG. Anyone who couldn't "find" a group (which is laughable) could simply make one.

If this was legitimately a problem, there should have been plenty of people looking. Certainly enough to form groups.

yes thank you =) so glad to seee another person with common sense =) :D:D

  4. We are a sample size of how a vocal minority feels about Galactic Command, nothing more.

The operative phrase in your argument being "if they got in a group." That was the problem. A lot of players simply could not get into a group, barring them from all of that content. Galactic Command does away with that.

okay, if they couldn't get into a group that was already forming, no one stopped them from forming their own group. and there is nothing that will convince me otherwise. when i didn't want to pay 100mil for wings of architect i kept on pugging nim df for 8 months straight until i got it down and got my wings. so even though u'll again say that it's just my personal experience it's none the less valid point. if i could do it, why couldn't others? i was just a scrub with no nim df achievs and yet i could try and try over and over until it worked. no one stopped other people from doing the same. so it's not that they couldn't get into a group, they didn't try hard enough.

While I'll agree the initial implementation of NGE was horrible and beyond puzzling to fundamentally change a sandbox game into more of a theme park, I disagree that the NGE is one of the reasons SWG shut down. Prior to the closure of SWG, the NGE had been refined, tweaked, and arguably was far better than SWG ever was during Pre-CU or CU. The reason being SOE had created a perfect mixture of sandbox for player creativity as well as theme park with plenty of new content.

Before the game shut down, SOE added a lot of new content such as battlegrounds, raids, chronicle, storyteller, new gear progression for all classes, atmospheric flight, and many other great additions that made it the best MMORPG I ever played, sandbox or theme park. It just so happens that EA, BioWare's parent company, did not want to compete with another Star Wars MMO. Given that SWG (even at its peak) never had a massive player base and was eight years old at this point, EA got its way and SWG was shut down to further support the new Star Wars MMO: SWTOR.

Regardless, I'm getting on a tangent about SWG now. Galactic Command is no NGE. It's definitely an overhaul in how gear progression works, but that's the only aspect of the game that has changed.

yes it's a HUGE change and of course people aren't happy. ESPECIALLY those people that are hated by the damn RNJezuz and i'm sure there is a sizable amount of those. sure there are those who get lucky. But seriously , what kind of good system relies on LUCK as the deciding factor or whether this person gets the piece of gear they need???

Considering BIoWare has already indicated they wouldn't be against adding a vendor or players to get that last set piece bonus they just can't get with RNG, you should be very excited with the tweaks BioWare could be making. The Live Stream today will probably give us even more insight into what BioWare is going to do.

Reasonable minds may differ. I don't have an issue with Galactic Command and I've only received one set piece so far out of 35 or so command ranks. I'm not bothered by that at all as I'm not in the rush that many of you are to have BiS gear immediately after an expansion launches. Again, the really issue here is BioWare spoiled many players by making gear far too easy and far too fast to obtain. They are changing that philosophy drastically and many obviously do not like that change.

seee you say yourself that it used to be TOO easy. and yet u still go on and on about it being unobtainable for newer players? decide already. it can't really work both ways.

You'll just have to wait and see. I obviously can't change your mind. Seeing how the system functions in the long run will be enough evidence.

of course we can't do anything else but wait and see. but i'm pretty sure that the longer we wait, especially with their great habit of not dropping in and leaving a couple words especially in threads as big as ours is becoming only frustrates people even more.

  5. I've been thinking about moving a toon or two to harb since late night PvP queues are slow as all hell on jc not sure about ping (I'm east cost us) so if you can manage to main there I'm sure the ping would be great for me..

    Hmm:rak_03:

If I move to harb you show me around I'll need boys to PvP with since all my boys have long since quit the game! TY!

lol there are some aussies and like new zealand people and even a few more russians in my guild on imp side. some really like to pvp. i'm more of a raider :p though ofc i do pvp for cxp like everyone else lol. not that i'm particularly good at it. tho ofc better than those ******* taht will get the ball passed to them and then just stand still and when told to run or passs say " i don't want to" . like *** lol

  6. You say it's better for new player but it isn't. Imagine someone who start playing 3 month from now. Everybody will have rank 300 and good gear while he'll have no rank at all. He'll have to grind is way up and during this time, he'll get overlooked by everybody because he has no gear. Imagine now this guy wants to raid HM or even NiM, he won't be able to raid for a long time because he won't have the gear. Now, if he wants to do rank pvp, the same problem applies. He won't be competitive for a long time. That's nice system indeed.

yes, thank you for your voice of reason ./hug =) :D:D:D

  7. Couldn't you make the same argument now?

yeah, but right now it's pure RNG. no matter how much i want my toon geared, i'm not gonna spam pvp all day .... not like i have the time to play all day anyway. previously the gear was there. whether u could get it was ofc not always certain, but it was there. here we can't be sure that us grinding the next GC level will give us anything useful, so ofc the desire to waste even more and more time on it is really not there. not if this is how they implement it:eek::eek::eek:

  8. Pre 5.0 Everyone had the choice to get or not get 224 gear.

    So?

    EXACTLY THIS

every player of max level had the choice of trying to get into ops. if people didn't want him cause he didn't have achievs, he could always try to start their own group. now if it was too much effort that is different. no one stops newbies from raiding. especially KP and EV. no one would care when it comes to those.

  9. No one forces you to do PvP, just like no one forced you to grind gold mobs. Everything is a choice. You play the game the way you want to play the game. You can only blame yourself if you are miserable because you don't like PvP.

yes i play the way i want to play. i want my toon geared. to get my toon geared i need to grind CXP, to do so effectively i need to PvP because the gold mobs give 1 CXP and regular quests - 20. what i wanna do ? i wanna raid? do i want to do raids i've been doing for 2-5 years now? NO. so what does that leave? fps groupfinder with clueless idiots that die cause they can't mechanic? or pvp . i'm here cause i have hope that BW can still do soemthing good with game. they did a VERY good job with the story this time. but the gear? needs fixed. i don't insist that it needs to drop from ops bosses.

but i DO insist that it can't stay the way it does now. :D:D:D:D

  10. I don't really see your point. You're basically just stating your opinion that gear should be obtained one way because it's what you like. This game has clearly shifted from forced grouping to optional grouping, so it only makes sense that the best gear would be available without grouping. The challenge of killing the best bosses is still there and cosmetic rewards can still be obtained. You need to branch your thinking outside of the typical MMO gearing system as the game is clearly not centered around large scale group content, so it makes sense that the gear system wouldn't be either.

come on man, yes this is a big change and it could work, BUT NOT THE WAY IT IS ATM. :D:D:D

  11. IMO, Bioware have gone the route of a Blizzard game, but not the one you're thinking, WoW, but have built something similar to the Diablo 3 in the SWTOR universe. A major GRINDFEST where all gear drops are RNG. Similar to Diablo, after many hours of Grinding and being at the mercy of the RNG Gods, I wanna murder kittens.

you and me both. counting the backrolled 4, ZERO upgrade in 39 crates. like...... WHAT DA ****. how is this better than 4.0 ops gear drops? or even 3.0? and how the hell can this be any kind of fair? like i'm sorry, but no i do not see anything GOOD or FAIR, or INCLUSIVE about this Kind of **** RNG

  12. Your personal experience does not translate into truth. I saw plenty of examples of players not having the connections or the gear to get into any sort of raiding. Nobody would help them and oftentimes they were kicked if their gear rating was high enough or if they didn't know the fights. It's a mixed bag, but it cannot be argued that 4.0 made it easier to get top tier gear for newcomers. For some they were lucky. For many others, they fell through the cracks. Galactic Command changes all of that and gives every newcomer the chance to get top tier gear and actually raid regardless of having a raid guild to help.

in 4.0 there were HM ops that would drop NiM gear 1 op per week, INCLUDING HM EV and HM KP!!!! u realize how easy they are???? and yes i know my personal experience doesn't make it one way or the other, just as much as YOUR personal experience doesn't make it absolute truth either.

  13. Anything you did was probably lost. You could claim that you made 10 billion off the CM and they would have no way to prove that you were right or wrong. About the only thing they could do would be to give those that have active toons on that server free game days.

wait, did hard have ANOTHER roll back? today???? or is this still about yesterday??:eek::eek::eek::eek:

  14. It sounds like you were playing a simulator and not a sandbox MMO. Character progression (i.e. stats) are a pillar of RPGs. Every MMORPG I have ever played (sandbox or theme park) had stats. Some games made them more relevant than others, but they all had stats. To not have any stats at all is to not be an MMORPG.

The pillars of the MMO: Combat, Exploration, and Progression. SWTOR added the fourth pillar of Story to the equation and many MMOs have tried to follow suit, with ESO being a major example.

Those four pillars must be intact for an experience to be a modern MMORPG.

and what ESO did best is the system of champion points which is so very alt-friendly =) wish SWTOR would take that into consideration as something new to add as opposed to this ridiculous RNG based gearing

  15. Raiding is irrelevant for raiders, as according to them there has been no new content in two years. For newcomers? They have nine brand new raids to enjoy and work through. Galactic Command facilitates that experience perfectly. It just does not facilitate progression raiders who only want to progression raid immediately after an expansion launches.

yeah, u know very well doing raids that have been out for 2 years (just in case of rav and tos ) is not progression no matter how u look at it.

how is this system inclusive exactly? nothing has changed in how people play. just instead of doing what they like they're forced to do what give most CXP which is PvP.

  16. I just said I just got through Rise of the Emperor, which comes after Shadow of Revan; it's the interval between SoR and KotFE, remember? My question is specifically about starting KotFE, not SoR, and the disjointed feeling of having to select each chapter individually.

my bad, u just mentioned oricon so that threw me off >.>

  17. I think one thing we all can agree on for the most part is we all share a passion for the game (different aspects of the game) we all wanted this game to be better than what it turned out.

Some people get fired up about it and blow up in a toxic mushroom cloud (like me at times) some people keep there cool w/e.. yes some people post just to be trolls but for the most part I'd guess most of us that post here share that passion about wanting this game to be all it could have been.

cause cause.... forum PvP FTW!!! :D:D though damn, i'm so sad i'll miss the stream =( it'll be 1:30 am for me =( :D:D

  18. I just got an alt of mine through Rise of the Emperor and got the mission "Prelude: Knights of the Fallen Empire", which told me to use the mission console on my ship. I did, assuming I'd pick up the mission for Chapter 1, but the only mission there was Day of Dread, for Oricon. With 5.0 and the new replayable chapters system, is picking the chapters manually from the Chapters menu now the only way to start KotFE (and KotET)? That sort of ruins the flow of the story, doesn't it, since it kicks you back out to your ship or the fleet every time you finish a chapter?

if u want to do the shadow of revan then go to rishi lol and talk to the bird quest giver

  19. None of this makes sense. They definitely could get top tier gear in 5.0. They could easily get into raid groups. Raid groups would literally run you through EV and KP HM to get a full set of 220s if they needed a new member. You could be decked out the same day you hit max level. Now they can grind out command levels for a few months PER CHARACTER to even have a chance at getting the best gear. And with Operations being one of the slower ways of accumulating CXP, I don't think there will be people lining up to run them whether they are a new player or not.

yes thank you. VERY MUCH THIS. now let's try to make him UNDERSTAND this :D:D:D
