How much time you have to wait for a FP?, even the new one where in Story mode you can do it with 4 dps.

-More than 30 min, and you just need 4 players, and we dont have problems with the lack of Tanks and Healers in this game for a FP.

How much time you have to wait for a Wz?, where you need 16 players or at least 8 for an arena.

- 1 to 5 min and on primetime sometimes is even less than 1 min.

For the new story mode role-universal CZ-198 flashpoints it's a complete ******** to claim you have to wait more than 30 minutes. On the Progenitor server during primetime, I always get a group in 5 minutes. For HM flashpoints, the DPS waiting time during prime time is usually between 20 and 40 minutes. But that is entirely due to the lack of tanks (and healers to some extent but mostly tanks.)

Warzones just throw random people together. Most warzones don't have tanks and some warzones don't have healers. If flashpoints didn't require healers (and more importantly tanks), the queue would pop a lot more often. As such you get warzone queues very often.

Also keep in mind that most people only do ONE flashpoint per day unless they're going for the CZ weekly specifically. Depending on your luck, you might have to do FOUR warzones for the wz daily. Hence, the PvP daily requires more queueing than PvE dailies. Also, PvP commendations don't have weekly caps. PvE commendations do, and as such, they encourage people to stop queueing beyond their weekly. Most tanks rarely do more than 3 HM FPs per week and it makes for slower queues for everyone. Also, the flashpoint weekly quests requires THREE queues, whereas the warzone weekly can require up to FIFTEEN.

Throwing the two aspects together makes for a very skewed, very biased comparison. And it still does not say anywhere that PvP is more popular than PvE, just that you have to queue more often for the same rewards if you play PvP.

They could add pve to galatic starfighter if they wanted and likely may do down the road. I am not talking like the ground type pve, but they could implement "quests or missions" to where you have your team made of you and AI and you need to help destroy something, help escort them to a rescue mission, or go full on war against the opposing side of AIs also. It doesn't only have to just be pvp. There are plenty of pve options they could do using this style over the space on rails currently.

Based on what they have said about how hard it would be to design space AI, what you have just described is not likely.

Still feel like we're being short changed. The STO devs have said something similar before and then they released the MVAM Prometheus.

A freelancer style space system would have been amazing but eh. At least Star Citizen is in the works so I can get my space combat fix from there.

Dont worry; I'm pretty sure they know what is best for us and what we will enjoy the most. After all, they are professionals and we are not :)

Translation: He struck the nail on the head and I don't have any decent rebuttal so I'm just going to pull out schoolyard mockery instead

Sorry, but I dont respond to personal attacks anymore. However, if someone wants to discuss the actual subject of not adding PvE to GS, I'll be happy to do so. If not, thanks for the bump :)

You bump your own threads without my help, and dodging people's arguments is no better than personal attacks.

I.E all arguments that disagree with my premise must be offtopic

Guess what your not always right and there will always people that disagree with you and those people have just as many good reasons why as you do.

Pretty sure the WoW devs have been selling that line for quite a few years now. :D

I really have to ask this because I never played SWG. Was the Jump to Light Speed expansion pvp centered or did it include pve aspects?

I'm trying to figure out if Bioware is just cherry picking a specific target audience, instead of catering to all play styles.

I do not believe this thread stands in evidence of a desire to discuss the idea that Bioware decided against adding PVE to GS. I think it stands as evidence of a desire to provide sarcastic comments for some type of dramatic effect.

There are actual constructive discussions that cover concerns about the GS...this is not one of them, and that's fine, but portraying it as one, or a desire to be one is silly at best. It is a propaganda piece, nothing more IMO.

I never said anything like that. You must be confusing my statements with someone else :)

mmhmm, but that's the stance you take, pretty much every argument put against you get s dismissed on some premise of yours. Getting straight answers out of the devs is easier than getting a decent rebuttal out of you.

They are releasing it as PvP only because that is what they have, designing and creating an AI for PvE along with all the story content to go with it is simply beyond their resources right now.

Stop acting like the fact that they released PvP-only content is a personal affront to you, its a mini-game that will have almost no bearing at all on the rest of the game and you are getting it free, you don't have to play it, your not force to doso just as you are not forced to do warzones or to do operations.

Oh I understand completely. Designing the AI for space is just too hard, so its a good thing they decided not to even try that and to just make it PvP only. If people want to be able to steer their ships in space, just make them PvP. Personally, I cant wait :)

Case in point. There is far too much of this in this thread to take it seriously IMO.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but thanks for your continued support of my thread none the less :)

I think you know exactly what I mean Nagus. I support your right to post your thoughts and concerns naturally, and appreciate the fact you do so.

I do not, however, appreciate the theatrics. Your making light of what could end up being a very serious issue.
