  1. Well, to be specific I would want to see the following changes to actually start participating.... - Joystick support - Battle mode with all base ships, no upgrades, boosts that drop based on performance only (note that the current mode would stay in place as expert mode) - PVE training mode with a few NPC vessels to practice And then, if I could really get what I want..... - Planetary surface maps with ground targets - Large spaceships in the battle with the ability to land, board and fight on foot in basic avatars/man turrets/sabotage ala Battlefront - Multiplayer ships (our personal starships) with turrets and some combination of long and short range weapons/strong armor Finally I would like to see the hangars become strongholds, with the ability to decorate them.
  2. I would. If they made a few other changes I would play it on a regular basis. Unfortunately it is unlikely they will make any of the changes I would like to see.
  3. Well, for me, I am happy to see a desirable item offered for a substantial credit cost. I don't think this game has enough credit sinks, and this could be a good one.
  4. It is an opinion. I am not "claiming" that everyone agrees with my opinion. I am "claiming" that that is MY OPINION. ....which, in fact, would be an accurate claim. The first line of the comment says it all. The fact you find that amusing means next to nothing with respect to my opinions on the matter. You are certainly welcome to disagree, but it would be a pretty silly premise if you expect that passionately expressing your distaste for the expansions in some fashion would in any way sway my opinions. After all, I am not a sheep.
  5. Iokath is one of the oddities....I loved the Iokath sequence in the expansion, but do not really care for how it is set up for dailies.
  6. All of the original companions should have returned very early on in the storyline IMO. In fact they should have written the story, IMO, as if your original companions were the well spring that forged the beginnings of the alliance. I should have had a much harder go of it overall, and instead had two or three companions fighting with me at all times.
  7. To be clear, the idea was to level cap you earlier or later. Lets say for the sake of illustration a planet caps you at level 20. The mobs run from level 17 up to 21. On an easy setting you would get capped at level 22. Some mobs might be grey, all would be lower than you. On the normal setting, you would be capped at level 20. On the hard setting you would be capped at level 18. Some mobs might be orange, with a few red in the mix. Now this is a two level cap variation. That can be adjusted to a 3 or 4 level variation. But the idea is to provide a reasonably challenging leveling process to those that desire it, while also providing the closest experience to the grey mob gankfest that used to exist before level sync was implemented. One could perhaps adjust the loot tables accordingly, basing rewards on level difference. This way if you faceroll you get next to nothing, normal mode is current drops, hard mode provides better rewards.
  8. I did find many of the boss fights to be more annoying than challenging. I also though some of the trash "autoaggro" areas were a bit much, especially if you were a stealth character. That with the lack of ability to play with friends detracted from an otherwise excellent expansion IMO.
  9. I had posted a suggestion, suggested by others in similar forms, that there should be a difficulty slider for level sync. There is debate on how that should work, but my proposal was to alter the level cap in each area....easy mode would allow two more levels before cap, hard mode would cap you two levels lower than current cap. Doing so with respect to the hard mode would likely put some mobs into the orange range, and perhaps a few select ones into red territory.
  10. I've seen this suggestion a few times in other forms, like the return to republic vs imperial type content, world invasion events and the replayability of old leveling chapters like the way KotET/FE is set up. Do you think any of that would be of interest to you?
  11. Perhaps....just seeking opinions on suggestions that others have offered. That way I can gauge the popularity of a particular suggestion, so I can see if I should add it to the OP.
  12. It is difficult at this point to make the changes needed, IMO, to give the feature wider appeal. They would really have to completely revamp it, leveling out the boosts from better equipment and adding temp boosts based on performance instead, so new players would have a chance. Its the same thing most online games like Battlefront do....that way new players do not feel like meat.
  13. I actually think they need to bring back quite a few of the original animations, as well as move the triggers from the beginning of the animations back to the end. I think those changes were some of the worst they made to the game, and it really devalues the animations drastically. Just my opinion of course.
  14. I too think a bit more focus, filling out the margins, so to speak, would go a long way here. They are being a bit too vague IMO considering the amount of rumors swirling around the game at the moment, combined with the perceived drought of content. My concern is for the overall health of the game, and I think they need to step it up a bit if they wish to help stabilize the games rep at present. My suggestion is to schedule weekly livestreams for one hour each, where they chat with players and answer questions where they can. IMO this would give the games rep a rather healthy boost.
  15. Good suggestions overall, I strongly agree with them putting down the balance crusade for a while.
  16. Do you think that increasing the CXP rate overall would benefit you? I'd like to hear your take on it.
  17. Its a good point I think. If you look at Battlefront, for instance, arguing that it is a good example of a reasonably successful PVP space combat setup, you can see that having the ship generally equal (strong is some ways, weak in others but all on a level field) and simply having boosts available based on PERFORMANCE instead makes for a fun game that is much more friendly to newcomers.
  18. Again, as a casual player myself I can see the merits of the new system....naturally I DO NOT like the current crafting setup with the armor. I would rather it not be so difficult to get proper schematics doing RE. That could use some improvement, but honestly I am not the one to suggest those improvements. The merit, IMO, comes from giving me something I didn't have before. Other than some cool loot I have a chance at some rather high end armor. For me that is a plus.
  19. I understand the aversion toward PVP in this game, or in general. Some folks simply don't like it, others just tend to dislike the PVP in this game. I think both are perfectly valid points of view. I think it is one of the likely reasons that GSF did not fare as well as they probably hoped it would. Making it a PVP only feature seemed to limit it beyond acceptance by the overall gaming community and kept it as a "splinter" activity, so to speak. I strongly feel it needed a PVE component, even if it was some kind of training mode.
  20. Absolutely Brilliant IMO. Never even crossed my mind, this is a very interesting addition. Good job guys.
  21. Better engine, still set up like an MMO but with a bit less VO, more customization and ability to generate player content. A mix of sandbox and themepark would be nice. Would like to see something in the FA/LJ timeline, or between that and RoJ. I guess a mix of this game for ground combat, SWG for crafting and housing and Battlefront for PVP and space combat.
  22. The only thing that can be said for sure is that all things end. This game will end one day. That is an absolute indisputable fact. WHEN it will end is the key. I will likely be disappointed when it does inevitably come to an end. I hold to hope that it still has quite a ways to go before that day comes.
  23. I would disagree. For a casual player the entire game is RNG, and this system, IMO, is just another RNG loot machine. This system also gives casual players the ability to gear up in a way they would not normally be able to in the past unless they participated in hard content. The place it falls short is for hardcore players. Obviously it is not a great system for those that run hard content on a regular basis, though the system has improved a bit since it was launched.
  24. Well, stepping aside from most of the speculation, if I had my way the very first thing I would do to reverse a bad decision (IMO) would be to return animations to their prior state, where triggers for abilities were at the end of animations. I think that was a horrible change that really hurt the games overall presentation to players. I would also make the original storylines playable as chapters so they can be replayed (like KotFE/ET), boost CXP payouts by about 50 percent across the board and move all events to a constant play schedule, having them all run at once. Finally I would add a world invasion PVP/PVE event that would periodically effect all planets except the starter/homeworld.
