Please continue reading because there are other issues. It seems that the actual canonical Cathar are a lot more catlike than we have in-game. Quote from the Cathar wookieepedia page appearance section: The baseline Cathar had fur-covered bodies with thick manes. They had prominent, retractable claws that could deliver powerful killing attacks on foes and prey. Their bodies also possessed rapid healing abilities. On average, Cathar were 1.5 to 1.9 meters tall. These traits made them the perfect hand-to-hand specialists. The Cathar species also had two additional subspecies, known as the Juhani and the Myr Rho. Both of these were notably less catlike than mainline Cathar.[3] Cathar were born into a litter.[4] Something I notice: It seems our current in-game models of the Cathar were modeled after Juhani (click here for pic). The wookieepedia clearly states that Juhani is notably less catlike than mainline Cathar. Our Cathar should look like: Example 1 Example 2 Example 3 Example 4 Does anyone else think that the in-gane Cathar are a lot less catlike than they should be? Deviantart (while may have some talented artists in it) is not an official stance by any means. There is a lot of fan created material that goes way off its original concept entirely. Only one example listed was a Cathar (tail would still be wrong). the other was just listed as a "sci-fi cat girl" and another was a Farghul, which is a separate species. Cathar dont have tails. They never had tails. Not in this game, not in the comics and not in any other game. EDIT: also, 2 of the 3 "examples" you posted werent cathar... one was a Farghul (a fantasy race) and another one was just "sci-fi cat girl"... But yeah, people put tails on cathar because they are A: ignorant and just think cathar are "cat people" or B: are really into furries and want that tail there for their own sick fantasies.
