  1. I'm going to name my first born child, Musco.
  2. Back in the Other Game, I camped a shadow priest for two hours on my arms warrior because he camped my lowbie for a good 10 minutes, and killed the quest giver several times. Best two hours I ever spent. He had some friends show up at about the hour thirty mark, but by that point I had gathered a couple of other guys myself who this priest had screwed with as well. It was delicious retribution. There were a few times that he had to have logged off and come back only to die again because we hid behind trees and others stealthed. I ran around him on my raptor doing the gnome /train emote. I'm pretty sure if he ever hears a gnome do /train again, he'll probably twitch uncontrollably.
  3. I'm a chatty Kathy in-game. If you were on my server, we'd probably have many lulz, followed by bouts of awkward silence.
  4. You're absolutely right, there is a simple reason, and it comes down to this equation: Person + anonymity(audience) = total f**kwad.
  5. There are a couple of reasons you're experiencing this. #1: Cutscenes. Most people are probably watching a cutscene during their quest chains. #2: People tend to ignore chat due to the insane amount of trolls. For instance, if anyone asks a question they'll get one of three answers: First, Alt-F4; second, Google it you lazy <insert expletive here>; and third, hurr durr newb, ****. Due to this issue, people tend to avoid speaking in chat.
  6. This gets even worse on pvp servers, since they tend to draw a more aggressive trollish crowd. They like to continue their pvp outside of WZ's in the chat channels. As for the OP's issue with griefing, there is no recourse. The devs really shouldn't be stepping in to assist on this either considering these are FFA zones for the PvP quests, and on a PvP server all of Ilum (outside the bases) are contested areas. Player killing is to be expected, and camping is a part of this experience. The devs should just increase the frequency of the Gree event, that way people get more opportunities at rep grinding and gear, and can work around ganking (by a slower reputation curve). Having it occur at such a slow recurrence invites griefers whose entire goal is to troll those people wanting to complete the content. Instead of punishing those players who engage in PvP, just increase the recurrence of the event.
  7. No, sock puppets are different forum accounts created to troll under a different identity.
  8. Heya GD. Thanks for all of the debates, ideas, silly posts, etc. It's been a real honor talking to all of you. I'm going to play the game for the rest of my month and then go check out some other pastures. I'll see you guys after a couple of major content releases (and hopefully after the sock puppet population dies off). With puppy love, Finkle
  9. This is early release, we still don't know what they have planned for the full launch, It's important to get all of the information available before committing to getting your panties in a twist.
  10. He's basing it off of the assumption that these people will come back and read the replies to their farewell. While not entirely factual, it's a safe bet.
  11. If you're unhappy, you should probably distance yourself from the subject that's making you unhappy. It's healthier than doing this.
  12. OP, That was a fabulous post. Yesterday, I commented that finding a well constructed critical post with solutions was like finding a diamond in a sewer the size of Manhattan. Well, I'm glad to say, diamond found. I went ahead and PM'd Amber and Eric to ask them to look at this thread. This is the kind of stuff they should be taking back to the devs.
  13. I'm on a PvP server. Besides griping about ranked queues, I haven't seen anything other than "Thor > all" and religious trolling.
  14. I think you missed the point of the thread. Go back and peruse it again.
  15. I don't disagree with you on the spirit of the product. The spirit of the product is gambling for super rares. The reality is that it's not gambling because they've classified a bunch of junk as "rares" and said that you get 2 rares and a chance at a super rare. Rare being completely subjective. Like the three "rare" dollar bills I have in my wallet, (they're rare because the serial numbers aren't the same).
  16. No he's not, but he and I both understand it's just an established fact that MMO players are a fickle bunch and are prone to migrating from MMO to MMO. I mean SWTOR didn't do anything to help itself in the beginning, the loss of those players was bound to happen due to the fact that the original client was a mess. But the attrition from then on was just due to the nature of the players. People play, they get bored, they move on. The F2P model unfortunately compounds this issue since there is no reason for a player to have any "skin in the game."
  17. They replaced it with something called bolster. It gives approximately the same stats as the recruit gear. You won't need any expertise at all until 55. In fact, using pieces of gear with expertise prior to 55 can actually screw you over. Good luck, welcome back.
  18. Poor guy. Bioware really has it out for you. I mean, I'll bet the devs are in a room RIGHT NOW wondering how they can make your gaming experience less enjoyable. Don't let those dev bullies get to you, just don't partake in the event. That'll show 'em. Love you, Hobo.
  19. Winter + snow = snowball fights. I would suggest having these on Hoth and Belsavis to enhance your immersion.
  20. We have a guy in our guild who logs in and plays on a tablet to do menial tasks like crafting and sending guys out on missions, his is a pretty expensive tablet, I don't remember what it is for sure, but it's one of those that's around $600-$700. I mean it's a full laptop/tablet, but it doesn't have the processing power to actually do any action intensive parts of the game. If you're looking for that, you'll need to find a laptop/tablet that has a discrete graphics card and at least 4GB of memory.
  21. That sucks, man. I hope they get that fixed for you soon. Hopefully it's an ISP issue, those are fixed pretty quickly.
  22. Have you comrades gotten any relief yet? Just curious.
  23. I think they would do it more often if they didn't have "The Usual Suspects" coming into the thread complaining that the game doesn't emulate SWG, doesn't have enough PvP, doesn't have enough "new" PvE content. The posts that I read where a dev, Eric, or Amber post in result in about 10% neutral, 20% positive, and 70% negative comments, and of that 70%, I'd say a good 40% is over-the-top hatred of the yellow poster. I'm all for a good critical post, one that says why something is bad, and offers a pragmatic solution, but those posts are about as rare as finding a single diamond in a sewer the size of Manhattan. I think that's why we don't see more lighthearted yellow posts. BECAUSE WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS!
