  1. I kicked a dps once who insisted we kill everything.

I would get it, if he was well geared crazy dps guy, but I think my tank had better dps then him.

Well, insisted is a wrong word, he pulled, so we have to attack so we won't die.

We asked him to stop, we let him die and then kill trash our selves.

after 3/4 of a run I got fed up and insisted a vote kick. no objections. fell bad for him a bit, but if you can't co-op...

other then that, I rarely pull 'the trigger', dealth with non-healing spec and stance on L50 hm, (I wasn't the tank, so I didn't care as we did clear it), dealt with tank having L42 dps greens (my healer was on the spot while 2 dps were vastly over geared- plus, I give him credit for trying hard - he wasn't aware of rakata grade gear for planetary comms and apologised), dealth with tank on LI HM not moving from any aoe (not to mention incinerate) on my healer. (lorric was a pain with this tank, but I'm one of those people who know about 'cleanse' button)..

on the contrary, a healer tried to kick me once, I had 31k hp on Hammer station, and he was crying on ops chat that I'm squishy 'lol you are undegeared, who has just 31k hp, tank should have 40k'. Told him, 'sorry, my gear is made for tank stats, not max endurance'. wiped on droid boss twice as he did not cleanse me, and started raging that he never had to do it, that he healed TFB HM, hardcore raider etc. his replacment came and whole run was smooth from there.

other day I entered FP50 with my strongly over geared dps, and got kicked on the spot after a tell 'sorry, my friend qued as tank so we get faster que an we need to kick you to get tank as replacment' - don't know how that worked for them, but really ruined my day.. another 34 minutes in a que that night...

  2. i play on a laptop (not built for gaming); its on the Local Disk thingy (C:), the one with the most GB storage (458 gb free of 581gb)

that's the magic of laptop.. I had pretty decent laptop not for hi-end gaming, but could run this game on high (preffered not to).

My loading times took ages too. Corelia, Belsavis.. could take a piss, wash my hands, get something to drink and check my phone and loading bar was still below 80%... and that was still before transfers when we had 30 people on the fleet prime time ;)

    sadly, deal with it.

  3. sorry but you are quite out of topic ;P our discussion there was about doing solo content - dailies especially

few pages eariler i said flame sweep is great for keeping aoe threat.

sorry, I guess I got focused to much on being called an idiot healer.

and the topic is tanks in flash points :p

  4. Yes stop field respec in warzones PLEASE!!

I was in voidstar and we were on defense there were no tanks and a couple of healers then when it swapped to us being on offense, suddenly by magic every class that could be a tank was a tank and every class that could be healer was a healer so it was like 4 tanks 4 healers. This makes pvp which is played round by round ridiculous. There should be no changing to get a tactical advantage because it makes the match unfair and also its unfair to classes which can't swap to win.

roll a class that can swap to win.

all smash mara can suck it.

  5. Overhealing does not generate threat. [...]

ah, thanks for clarification, wasn't sure about that.

    good thing to remember

flame sweep isnt worth the heat as a main aoe dmging skill, so is juggs kick (dunno the name) from what i recall :p

@the pre-hotting dilema - as both a tank and a healer i want to give and receive pre-hots, if a tank cant bear the immense weight of the hot threat (even on LoS pull) than i would be quite worried about the FP/OPS the group is in.

flame sweep and sweeping slash are in fact worth it. 1-2 and you have focuns on your self again.

specially when dps ignores weak/standard/strong and goes for elites first... since they are so pro dps monsters that other mobs can wait as they are not worth of their pro elite rotation which is reserved for elite mobs

  6. I keep hearing that the purpose of the bolster at 55 is even the grounds. If that is the case I have a couple of questions:

1- Why do we have PvP gear? Why does not the game just remove it, remove expertise and anyone walking in the WZ gets his/her stats bolstered to level 75 gear.

2- Why do PvE gear peaks in performance in WZs between levels 58 to 63, then loses so much expertise compared to stats gained afterwards? Someone in level 63 PvE gear is way much stronger than someone in level 69 PvE gear.

3- Why is not max PvP gear level 75 like max PvE gear?

4- Why is PvP gear almost unusable outside of WZs. It can barley pull the player through SM operations.

5- Why are we 80 days after the expansion trying to figure out what is the BiS gear in WZs?

I can not figure out the answer for these questions. Before the expansion, the primary issue with gearing for PvP was the high entry barrier at max level. Now...

    1. pvp gear is better for pvp.

2.pve gear 69 has less expertiese then 63

3.these are the rules, pve gear is quicker to obtain by far.

    4.see point 3.

5.maybe you are. improve skill not gear.

    there you go.

  7. my hot tichs 1,5k -2,3k on crit, if that is to much threat for you, I'm scared of tossing a biggy one.

    joking ;)

    sages hot is different.

on the contrary, I tried today not hotting before pull, after tank got that 2 gcd of attacks, 1 hot, heal,1 hot (scoundrel/operative dot have 2 stacks to be worth anything), and as much as I noticed I'm getting a bit less attacked, energy managment is a bit more pain in tha bum, but dealable.

I get it, pre hots are annoying for the tank. Please understand that pre hotting on scoundrel/operative is quite important for energy managment to have healing efective. it's different to sage/sorc heals. (I get it you didn't run much with mando/merc healers did you)

  8. I, and any other tank can. But just because we can, does not mean we should have to waste our snaps on a healer's mistake. There is -zero- benefit to wasted heals. ZERO! You throw a hot on, which produces agro, but is 100% over healing. So you produce agro, don't actually heal (you make green numbers...but don't recover any health). So you just wasted power, made threat for no reason, and put your HoT on cd. Not very smart if you ask me.

    my hot doesnt have CD.

it doesnt waste any of my energy either, it actually gives me Tactical Advantage. using it during battle when I have to cast big heals between my beloved tank and 2 dpsers who refuse to attack same target and my self being attacked by ignored trash, then it wastes my energy. That is the sole reason for using it before pull or right after start. specially if tank has fast pace.

if you don't like being healed, just say so on /p chat, I'm sure person will understand your way of tanking.

    less hate more communication.

also, make a healer. I used to run all 3 tanks, 2 dps. made a healer, and see world from his perspective to.

  9. ops/scoundrels not only as was said - the stealth, the big heals, the HOT's.. but it's a very mobile class and you can cast just about everything except the big heal and the tac advantage required small'ish heal while running and moving. ooh and also the fun side benefit is if your target is being focused and at 30% or less health you get to cast limitless quick heals for zero energy, and never lose your tactical advantage.

in pvp any class that has to stand still a large part of the time is going to be a big fat target, and healers are already targets enough as it is. so op/scoundrel heals seem like the best, and most mobile plus you can regen your energy easy enough if you can take a second or 2 to cast diagnostic heal every so often :) which is nice. i like sages/sorcs too but the worst is when you're oom, but there's still heals needed to be cast.

I'd like to stop here for a moment, I won't argue about number of tools for operative healer.

1 stun (4m) and one mass mezz (8s 10m) is hardly 'ton'

you can't get away from casting big heal. kolto probe (hot), kolto cloud (15 sec CD) and surgical probe will not heal any1 who is attacked by dps with more buttons then basic attack. sure, hots will delay death, but ain't good enouth in hand to hand combat.

target getting focused will not be saved by surgical probe either at best you can delay death (unless dps gives up or dies). I don't know where that myth comes from,. maybe from poorly skilled dpsrs - what it can do, is help heal thro dps burst, get person to that magical 30% and hope he survives 1,7 sec for that big heal of mine (sometimes I use that other one I never remember name of small heal + nice hot, combined with kolto cloud is nice heal if I have to move quickly, but eats energy like a hungry kitten)

I don't deny mobility of OP heals, but we can't do everything on the run.

  10. Without bolster fighting an uphill battle against opponents geared to the teeth with expertise hardly counts as "competitive" progression.

That's what they want. Easy wins with low geared people, easy excuse if they lose (that damn premade is over geared).

pvp gear is still better then pve gear. Difference is to small for low skilled player to win simply with their gear, and that is what makes them angry.

  11. kweassa,

I truly have no problem with bolster system I was wondering if I'm only pvping on Warzones (PVE server) and not on open world if I should get pvp gear at all? or just purchase materials and credit chests from the pvp merchant cause right now each pvp item I purchase makes my character lose stats.

according to new patch notes, blues and purples should no longer be bolstered to much.

As I have a conversation with a friend over gearing pvp for healer (both operatives) I do take pvp stuff (started few weeks ago but is going slow due to other reasons after 2.0) so atm 7 pieces pve (69) and 7 pvp (63), he chose to ignore pvp gear and uses his pve (72/69) stuff, and keeps pvp stuff for dps spec, I find that I have better healing then him, not to mention, I have more dmg reduction (so I live slightly longer).

For DPS, Do more then just look at main stat, 20% extra damage from expertiese is far more needed then extra 500 main stat (not to mention dmg reduction).

    I won't even mention tanks.

Numbers aren't big, but excluding few exploits of the system, pvp gear is better.

  12. If a tank need s aheal so quickly after the initial pull that you have to pre-HoT them, you need a new tank. Can a tank taunt off the stupid healer? Yes. Should we have to? No. And sometimes I don't just to make a point.

People not following simple rules and thinking they are, somehow, magically better than the mechanics of the game are why things have gotten so out of hand.

I hardly remember my hot per tick 3 sec now, but if that is to much of initial aggro, then I'm sorry.

Again, I'm not to much familiar with LoS pulling, as on neither HM 55 it was required for me. (seen it about 7 times with 5 times it was a SIN who just loved teleport, 1 time a jugg who I asked 'not to do this, waste of time, I can heal you', and once on my self when healer wasn't sure of his ability to heal. - excluding one nasty pull on Cademinu before end boss, but this one is just to spread...)

reason for a hot and earlier healing then you may wish, is, when you start getting hit, getting you back on 90% will cost me dearly, and I have to use my 'emergency' cool down to get energy. In best scenario it's not a biggy, but if DPS pulls, and I, instead of free heal and recovering energy must heal him, it get's very annoying.

So I'm sorry, if you can't pull with AoE threat catching, that is not my fault. Healer is effective if no one dies, not if he heals 'just enouth' to not steal threat off lazy bum tank.

Again, if you ask me not to HoT you, fine, but I will warn in /p chat, that I'm sorry if you die. Simples

  13. no point in pvp gear. it won't fix lack of skill. 10% more damage output is not enouth to fix lack of skill issue many players have.

They want to remove bolster, to have atleast 65% advantage again, so sometimes they get to kill some one.

  14. fake back hits are annoying...

sometimes it's funny, when with tank companion and I can throw a back attack from front (lol?)

and then during pvp trying to maul 'you are not behind the target' and 4 seconds later of red messages and me dancing around him like I was giving him a lap dance, he gets healed and I miss my 'finishing blow'...

  15. As long as the healer LoSes with you, it won't matter.

To any healers reading this thread. Ignore the 'don't HoT me' people. Keep HoTing me up before pulls, I appreciate the steady heals right from the start of combat. If by some chance you get aggro, just LoS so the mobs run to me and I will take care of it.

Phew. I thought I was doing something wrong there.

    You have my HoT.

  16. If you heal a tank before a LoS pull, it screws things up. I hate healers who do that, don't do that.

depends on a LoS pull. sometimes before you hide, you still get hit, and I'm sorry if I throw a heal when you are on 50%, mobs will still come to us as I stand next to you on LOS pull. you do 2 aoe's and mobs are back on you. I can throw 2 def cd's, they reset soon enouth, throw aoe heal and we'r good.

Usualy if I see tank doing aoe pulls on every trash I ask them to stop, as 'mate, I can heal that, don't worry'.

that 18s HoT on you can sometimes mean life over death ;)

  17. If it only would be possible to go back few levels...

I always advise to people. Want to be healer? Start as a healer.

    yes it takes longer.

Yes, till 30 you hardly have to heal tank companion in dps gear (or throw a heal everry 8 seconds and do hitting other 6).

but it teaches you weight of every healing ability. going to 50 as dps in dps gear (accuracy) and transfering to healing with no clue is never good.

not to mention, that merc/mando are probably hardest to jump from DPS to Heals on the spot. (and I hardly ever see skilled merc healer, and when I see skilled one, they are amazing)

Double exp weekend will be back this weekend, I understand you don't want to create new char, but can make a mirror, and take it atleast to 35 healing only. doing some heroics 2.

other then that, welcome to MMo world...

  18. As Ambush is a 2.5 sec cast it doesn't help his point, it is pretty easy to LoS if you are a DoT class.

could also mean takedown. your guess is good as mine. unless he lied, but FT is hardly a hard hitter.

los yes, but depends on positioning (plus leg shot), and on low brackets, not many people go DoTs, as there aren't many.

  19. See my example with the kids playing soccer. Have you ever seen kids playing? Do you seriously believe they are NOT enjoying themselves?

sometimes I think that atleast 5 of my team are those six year olds... they sure are having fun... in the PIT chasing tank and a healer (with not much success) while other team scores 3 times in a minute, and they scream in ops 'u so nub, I quit'.

  20. ..

PvP gear should be the best gear to use in PvP, end of story. The entire system for bolster in level 55 warzones should be reworked or bolster just being removed from level 55, and the equivalent of recruit gear from back in the day that has expertise should be bestowed upon you once you reach level 55 so you are competitive.

    1. pvp should not be about gear but about skill. We all liked to land a 2x9k hit on that poor recruit fella who used half pve greens in some slots, but it was getting old real quick, specially if that recruit/pve players was in your team.

2.fix exploits, yes, but ffew rare examples are not an argument to remove the whole system which is good.

3.recruit gear was proven to not work. many people would not wear it for simple reason, it was ugly and not moddable. Only thing that it was good for, was first replacment for... pve.

4.bolster opened pvp to many pve players, wasn't that the point?

  21. Well, not want to be pesimist, but:

-training 1vsX is doable already on pvp areas (free for all)

-trying out tactics is pointless without enemy, and can be done on paper (old school huh)

-training WZ is usualy more needed for people that are not in guild and have no idea of group play (never ever let guildless player guard a node, not being elitist, but that is high % of chance that person will go afk or run away, there is a chance of good player, but statistics are making a kill)

-trying tactics vs other tactics, since ranked WZ are so dead, if you have 16 people just train in ranked WZ (and get comms lol) you will be in one match for 90% of the time.

sorry for the bummer post, as idea sounds cool, but you did ask for an opinion ;)
