  1. We can sit here and argue back and forth on issues of the absurd by rehashing other absurdities. One could argue that the force is always in control, using force sensitives and non-force sensitives, even to the point of using droids. It would be absurd to suggest a force-using droid, but not so absurd to suggest the force uses droids to achieve a means. My intent here is not to get into a big philosophical debate about the force, about "The Ones" (from Mortis), the living force, the paradox (Marr), etc... but simply to offer the solution of using heroic moment.
  2. The planetary story arc begins in a specific area, usually near where the player arrives on the planet. From there, as you complete missions along that arc, you interact with several NPCs at different locations. Wherever you were in the story arc, you should have to return to that NPC to continue the arc if you abandoned the mission.
  3. IDK, did you try sending a PM to Eric or Jackie? It seems to me that while deleting and reusing a character creation token may make it hard for players to report a person, an actual Bioware employee should be able to view logs and determine the culprit without any problem. Allowing these "bad actors" to continue scamming players, impersonate system functions, and try to emulate regular well-known player characters is not helping a game that has been failing to keep long-time players subscribing.
  4. You should get whatever modulation comes from what is equipped on your current outfit slot.
  5. There are (space) pirates in Star Wars. They appear in the old novels, the new novels, in video games, comics, in Clone Wars and other places. The Rishi outfit really isn't all that pirate-y outside of the wide brim hat. As for my original comment, the story is written for a character that is not a force user. The OP mentioned "immersion." It's hard to argue that allowing the smuggler to be a force user would increase immersion in a story that repeatedly reminds the character that he or she is not a force user.
  6. I'm not sure what weapons you are picturing. It would be weird for a blaster rifle or sniper rifle to be centered in one's back.
  7. Guss is just the first of many situations where if the smuggler was a force user, the story dialogue doesn't play along. Think about KotFE and KotET, dealing with Valkorian. Later you meet Tau and Arn and it's clear from the dialogue and choices that you aren't force sensitive.
  8. The Smuggler storyline is supposed to resemble the Han Solo story. It's supposed to be about blasters, luck, a starship, a rich princess and a wookiee. Some of the dialogue might seem strange if the character was a force user. There's also the story involving Guss Tuno that would seem out of place if the smuggler was a jedi in exile. It also wouldn't make sense how new abilities are learned since there isn't someone actually training the smuggler character in the ways of the force.
  9. I just meant that genuine emotes are harmless. Custom emotes can be derogatory. Whether or not something is annoying, is another issue, but it doesn't have to be emotes. People can spam abilities, throw snowballs, sparkle powder, or food at you, use jawagrams, etc...
  10. This is working as intended. There's no chance they change the WZ policy for people on your ignore list because people would just add everybody that was better at PvP than them to their ignore lists. Plus queues would stop popping because a lot of people ignore other players for the stupidest reasons. Now, if it was just about queues, it would have to be set up so the person that has another queued player on ignore would be bumped and wait for the next queue. Either way, queue times would be significantly longer. As far as emotes, only the custom ones need to be blocked. The rest are not a big deal.
  11. I can do CZ-198 and Ziost in about the same amount of time. On a stealth character, I can do Black Hole almost as fast. Then the new weekly format for Ossus and Iokath only require 6 missions, which means, in the case of Ossus, I can actually do the weekly twice (without stealth) in one day in about 25 minutes. Rishi can be done just as quick as Ziost/ CZ-198. Section X may take a couple more minutes if you try to complete the bonus objectives (you just have to charge through the heroic popping defensive CDs until you can throw the grenade (or use stealth). Oricon takes around 20 minutes. Makeb really depends on the missions available that week. It can be quick or grindy. The planet heroics vary quite a bit in time investment. I'm more afraid that any attempt to "balance" rewards by Bioware would lead to nerfing the easier ones than increasing the grindy ones. Be careful what you ask for.
  12. There's a difference between disagreeing with exaggeration and "defending the amount of content." Most complaints about the lack of content argued that there was only 3 hours of play through (including the grind). This particular complaint is arguing that there is only 1 hour. If you spacebar through all the dialogue and cutscenes and stealth through all the mobs, you can finish it in less than 2 hours. But if you are arguing about a lack of content, but spacebarring through all the story and skipping all the mobs, then who cares how short it is? Apparently, if a player is in a rush to get through it, the shorter it is, the better it should be to them. So where's the problem? I try not to be overly critical, but overall, the release rate of 7.0 features and content has been a disappointment. But people don't have to exaggerate to make that case. If a person did the new story in 1 hour, they didn't do it for "content" they did it to get it done.
  13. When you get to KotFE, there's a single story for everybody through KotET. But otherwise, there are generally two stories. It (Manaan) is no different than... say... Makeb. On Makeb, it's one theme, but still two stories.
  14. As I stated above, not everything is within EA's control. There are still a lot of things a player can do in this game as "Preferred" status. When times are tough, especially financially, people can still enjoy much of this game without subbing.
  15. It's twice as good as you thought.
  16. There's a republic story and an Imperial story.
  17. More than likely, that player has characters on SF as well. While I agree that SWTOR could do much better on enforcing behavior, I don't really feel like that is a population factor. I believe that when the US Servers were condensed to two, the RP community took to SF. So right away, with everything else being equal, SF began with a higher population. That's appealing for people that do more group activities and people that like having more GTN sellers or buyers. Naturally as players come and go, the more populated server notices less difference. I've been on several dead servers over the course of this game and SS is far from that. Now, if SWTOR all of a sudden started transferring accounts for free or even drastically reduced the transfer cost to the old dead server sale price, that could lead to the beginning of the end of the healthy SS population. So, IMO, the OP should pick and choose the toons that are most important to him/her and pay to transfer them to SF if that's where he/she wants to play. Demanding that we all go with him/her is the epitome of selfishness.
  18. If I had to guess, I would expect this game to last about 4-5 more years.
  19. Your connection to Discord has absolutely nothing to do with your connection to the SWTOR server. Even if you and your guildmate are at different locations, you both could be experiencing the same problem on your paths to the SWTOR server. You can take the advise from ThanderSnB and find out exactly where the problem is coming from or you can incorrectly keep blaming SWTOR as the culprit. If this had something to do with the "maintenance," every player would be having the issue.
  20. Yeah. That is the wording. It will be interesting to see if it still completes after GS2 ends. There may still be hope, but people shouldn't count on it.
  21. If you get enough of the rep tokens, you should still be able to use them after GS2 ends. Which means you should still be able to get the achievement after GS2 ends as well.
  22. They removed virtually every credit sink we had with 6.0 gearing and didn't replace them with anything. This shouldn't be all that "upsetting."
  23. The CS reply was a politely worded, mostly cut & paste, token reply. Whenever it's an issue that can't be resolved, they direct the player to post in the forums. It's standard procedure. Posting in the forums brings attention to a topic and gets other players involved. When something is a "suggestion" like "merge the servers," other players may have different opinions. The forums help different perspectives be heard. I'm sure there are other players that would like to see the 2 servers merged, but there are plenty as well that don't want this. Here's an old reply I got from customer service in 2016: My name is Eugene and I'm from the Star Wars: The Old Republic support team. I hope this reply reaches you safely and that you are well. Thank you for contacting us regarding the reporting of email Spam, from your report you seem to be concerned that there is a limit on the number of tickets you can recreate, let me assure you that this is not the case and I like many other Gamers have reported a multitude of spammers that are trying to utilize the mail system. Regarding your suggestions on having an alternative method of reporting and the introduction of a volunteer system, I strongly recommend posting these suggestions on our “Suggestion Box” forum, located here: http://www.swtor.com/community/forumdisplay.php?f=349 The reason I am pointing you here is that our Development team actively monitor this area of the forums, and are constantly looking for feedback and suggestions from our players. The thoughts and opinions of our community have played a key role in helping them to improve the Star Wars: The Old Republic experience, with the introduction of Knights of the Fallen Empire being a prime example. Thank you again for contacting us to bring this issue to our attention and I am sorry that I personally cannot help. Sincerely, Eugene Star Wars ™: The Old Republic™ Customer Service
