  1. If people would just enjoy the game, advance the story, do the group content they enjoy, etc... and not worry about that (cosmetic) stuff for a short time, they can wait until the next Galactic Season begins and earn up to 4000 extra Cartel Coins per server for free (obviously subscription required) which will give them the ability to purchase their favorite things directly without credits. If they simply must have something now, they'll either need to figure out how to make credits quickly (which is actually easy once you know) or they will need to use or buy Cartel Coins. Honestly put, this isn't a make or break issue. If not quite looking cool enough is too much to overcome in a game that has so much content for a new player, then they really aren't that into this game and likely would quit in favor of other games they enjoy.
  2. People don't "quit the game" because of the credit inflation affecting player to player trades. They quit because there are thousands of other games out there and some of them appeal more to them than this one. As pointed out, the inflation only affects items players can either invest the time and resources into crafting or that are completely cosmetic (cartel market items). Even if one argues that it's too tedious to invest in crafting, changing the value of credits in player trades will not change that crafted items would have a relative high cost. If players only have tens of millions of credits instead of billions, the coveted craftables will sell for tens of millions instead of billions. It's ... all ... relative. Because of the reduced cost of all items resulting from the proposed mass credit wipe, players will not be able to make credits as fast through trade to afford the coveted items. It's ... all ... relative. The time investment required to afford these cheaper items will be the same as they are under the current inflated status. It's ... all ... relative. Even after a mass credit wipe, the glaring lack of credit sinks will see inflation return extremely soon. You don't fix a flat tire by letting the air out of the other 3 tires.
  3. It's a good thing you're smart enough to figure it out and don't support them in any way.
  4. So they're actually trying to make money? Who knew?
  5. You trade a set (or item) of equal value and you either craft your own augments or trade the mats to a guildmate that can craft them for you.
  6. I think more specifically in Illgot's case, the credits were claimed from the GTN sale messages, but exceeded the cap when combined with the current inventory credits. When a player does a lot of sales everyday, sometimes they habitually claim all at once to save time. In the past, this was never really an issue, but with today's pricing and the abundance of credits already in character accounts, sellers need to pay attention to the caps when claiming their credits via mail.
  7. Typical strawman rebuttal. I never said it was different than "real world inflation." I stated that the game itself has fixed credit pricing. Only the player to player trade is affected by inflation, which is caused primarily by a lack of sufficient credit sinks. Far be it from me to have and share my own opinions on a topic. Put me on ignore if you can't handle disagreement. It's pretty simple... almost as simple as not paying for a product that doesn't live up to a consumer's standard. I wonder if Musco would say that?
  8. Scare quotes? You're too much. The reason I put the word inflation in quotes is because we are only talking about player to player trade. The items within the game itself do not increase in price. So when I talk about inflation in the game, I want to clarify that what we see as inflation is not universal to everything in the game, but only to the credit value put on items that players trade. I will continue to argue that it's all relative regardless. If Item A is equal in value to item B, it doesn't matter if they were worth 5 million credits (in player to player trade) 3 years ago and worth 200 million credits today. They are still equal. The amount of time it took to make 5 million credits through trade is also equal to the amount of time it takes to make 200 million credits through trade today. Like anything in the game, it takes a time investment to learn the most efficient path to trade success, but I don't feel sorry for the have-nots that don't try. Of course, they can go through life playing the victim card, hoping to get something from that. Speaking of that, did the Devs ever apologize to you yet for 7.0? p.s. If I was Eric Musco, this game would have ample credit sinks and I wouldn't nerf rewards... or conquest points... or the kick start tactical...
  9. The way things are in this game, if someone adds my character to their friend list, how would I even know? I really don't need to know whose friend lists I'm on. It makes no difference to me since it didn't interrupt my game with some popup notification. And if for some reason, that person becomes problematic (this has not happened to me, but I suppose it's a possibility), I can play on any of my other characters without that person knowing they are mine.
  10. I believe that you loved the feature. I don't believe that everybody did (or that "no one had a problem with it in that game" ). I promise you that I have a problem with that system. I don't like it. As I stated people's feelings were getting hurt. "Why didn't you accept my friend invite?" Why did you remove me from your friend list?" "My friend wants you to add him" ... No thanks.
  11. As far as I'm concerned, the issues are already resolved with the current system. I don't like games where I get "friend requests." I always feel like a jerk if I decline a "friend request." Some people get their feelings hurt when you decline their request. All that drama is avoided under the current system. Anonymity is protected for those that don't feel like being social every moment in the game. Stalkers lives aren't made easier.
  12. With Quesh, it won't let you leave the orbital station (the first time) unless you pick up the story mission (get the jab). I just went to quesh on a character that only did class missions, that abandoned the planet story in the past. On the orbital station, the Imperial Vaccination Officer has the story arc available again, I accepted it, abandoned it and it was immediately available again. Picked it up again. Talked to Moff Dracen, did the mine mission, returned to Dracen and completed the first quest. Exited the phase. Abandoned the mission. Now I can't reacquire it. It appears that as long as the quest giver is not in a phase, it's safe to abandon a planet story mission. But if you abandon the Quesh story at the beginning (so you can travel to the planet surface) and then abandon it, you can pick up the chain again later.
  13. I've re-picked up the Quesh planet story quests before. It just doesn't happen in the orbital station. For example, on the Imp side, you would pick it up in the building with the cantina.
  14. If their thing is to "burn credits" then the solution is to learn how to easily get credits. Once again, the responsibility falls on the individual player to do what's necessary. I don't always want to grind content to gear characters, but I do what is necessary.
  15. I don't understand why it never occurs to people to take advantage of crafting abilities in the game instead of relying on player trade to purchase craftable items.
  16. I have no problem with punishing players for using exploits. But I disagree with the argument that it hurts new players. Everybody can buy things with cartel coins. New players can sell things at inflated prices just like everybody else in player to player trade and accumulate large amounts of credits quickly with little effort. Player trade inflation does not affect game pricing for items players actually need. So this whole idea that it hurts new players is simply not true. However, Bioware for some reason does from time to time choose to nerf credit rewards because of their failure to add sufficient, effective credit sinks. Not being able to make credits as fast through game content hurts new players somewhat, but that is likely offset by the lack of credit sinks anyway (remember when we used to have to buy abilities and ability upgrades from the trainer as we leveled?).
  17. I figure that if you just send each complete set to your main, you can save the CCs for something else (and always know where to claim a copy). Just claim a copy of what you want and transfer it to the character that needs it
  18. I'd counter your argument with the "Fact" that all players that could actually need augments can also use the game resources to gather materials and craft them themselves. Nobody has to buy them from other crafters, they just do it because they aren't interested in crafting, are lazy, or are impatient. But there is nothing stopping players, especially subscribers, from crafting their own craftables. Also, returning players will find that items they haven't sold yet are worth much more (credits) than they were worth when they stopped playing. Likewise, craftable items and BoE loot drops sell for a lot more. If you know what non-cartel market items are popular sales, you can hit your player credit cap pretty quick with just a handful of sales.
  19. It would improve performance in group content areas like WZs and 16M operations and could revive the non-existing OWPvP by allowing the return of things like the original OWPvP area on Ilum that was removed due to performance limitations of the hero engine. It would also allow players to take advantage of technological advancements made during the last 10+ years. Whether or not that financially viable is a different topic.
  20. My point was simple. Check the most logical explanation first. If you logged into Satele Shan thinking you logged into Star Forge, your legacy bank wouldn't have what you thought it had in it and your character perks wouldn't be what you thought it would be. It's a simple mistake somebody could make. Of course, when reading replies trying to help, you can choose to get indignant and snippy instead of being appreciative that someone took the time to respond. Good luck with your thread.
  21. Legacies are server wide only. My first reaction is to have you double-check you are on the correct server that had what you say you are missing. The reason for this is because you said perks are missing.
  22. The rewards from uprisings should be the same as FPs. They really are just FPs without needing "Space bar, please." They could also increase the conquest points from them to increase queues.
  23. There is nothing preventing you from replying back through email. Your email service and theirs does not "close" or lock you out. From the last ticket I made: "Please note that the tickets we respond to are being closed by the system by default. It is never our intention to close the ticket right away."
