CaptMichael
Hi everybody, i was wondering how does it look for vanguard tanks in 2.0. i haven't tanked since the rakghoul event have they improved or not ? i was thinking of going back since it looks like tactics got ******* on:(. or should i just stick to my gunslinger? ahnog
I love taking so I leveled tanking a depended on Jorgen and Yunn for dps. The content in 2.0 is going to be tougher than the 1-50 leveling. See section x for a foretaste. You may need your healer which means slow leveling.

OuchTown
I actually think Vanguard tanking is pretty strong now. I find that the new build not only is going to generate even more threat and the new energy ammo is not that bad at all. If you spec it all the way up to energy blast it is very tough to run out of ammo for quite awhile. I have been vanguard tanking since launch, so there are a few rotation changes but I actually like them.
TheRampage
I like the ammo changes, snare abilities (altough that is pvp only), more self healing. What I dont like - ion pulse no longet stacks shield on you. And using energy blast consumes all power screen to increase it for x seconds. Just by reading it I liked the previous version nmore. Need to see how will that work on HM ops, but that I'll know next week.

Nyoromatic
Just stick to your slinger, vanguard shield specialist is no longer a viable tank.

mfourcustom
Just stick to your slinger, vanguard shield specialist is no longer a viable tank. ^ vanguard and powertech tanks cant stack up to the other two tanking classes VGS and PTS are subpar at everything now.. sure your gonna say something like "this guy is stupid" well you might do well and kick *** when playing bad players but hey when you end up playing good players think about it, you are slow you have only one leap and you cant peel like the other two tanking classes. GG for pts and vgs.

babyboom
well i am level 55... did more then a few FPs... and can say this: my health is going down quite faster... and since adrenaline rush is bugged you have 1 less heal to heal you while above 30% health... also there is a new rotation of skills... but after a while you get it... AOE aggro is much better... if adrenaline rush worked you would be much more viable... specially since now shoulder cannon can heal you (so always try to keep it active for the boss fights, in case of emergency you can get 20% health up)... All in all not that bad, we seem less viable as staying alive then we should... and i hope they fix the bug, cause that will help a lot... (btw i hope that its a bug) as for PVP... i feel much more viable as tank... it really takes 3-4 guys to get you down... and if you get healer on you... you can stay alive for quite some time... at 55 i even managed to kill healer (though bolster is **** so this might not count) as full shield spec, just spammed all my burst DPS and poped my CDs and i just burned him down (he had 25kish HP)... so dunno... i have a strange feeling... i can keep aggro without problems.... in pvp i can really "tank"... but staying alive in FPs is much harder now
kmzh
What bug with Adrenaline Rush are you talking about?
babyboom
What bug with Adrenaline Rush are you talking about? you have in shield tree line skill called Soldier's Grit witch says that adrenaline rush heals you for 2% max health while ABOVE 30% of your maximum health... and in practice that doesn't work, you pop it at for example 50% it executes like normal adrenaline rush... aka only when you get below 30% it will start ticking
Nightkin
You guys shouldnt worry, i have a 50 PT tank and with the shield relic proc, and the last tier skill active i reach almost 90% absorb for short periods of time. At around 68% at other times and 49 ish at worst. And thats in pvp gear... If i bother to do daileys i easily use a dps companion and i rarely even have to stop to heal up after each fight. Tanking for pve, solo or whatever you meant, we are doing quite well for ourselfs. Self heal with kolto overload and rocketlauncher makes you not even needing a healer at all. Ofc, this is still at rank 50 and most of what i wrote was aimed at pre 2.0. Our stats gradually change during the trip to 55 though and mobs are harder hitting at higher ranks but still, id say we do fine. babyboom
dont worry once you get 55 your stats go waaaaay down i had also like 80% absorb at 50... when i got to 55... with all the buffs i get max of 60% absorb for example... that is with all the buffs from skills
Coldini
Hey Guys, Can I confirm I am not bugged since my lvl 50 friends have very different stats from same ratings as me My current character sheet (lvl 55 vangaurd tank) says: Shield Chance: 34.99 / Shield Rating: 639 Shield Absorb: 36.9 / Absorb Rating: 528 Defense Chance: 12.72 / Defense Rating: 115 Reason I ask is my lvl 50 friends have similar ratings but double the % gain. Also what is with the alacrity/def chance on the new gear for vanguards, is this relevent or another one of those deliberate moves to make us buy several sets of legs again and use the mods from those? If it started ticking above 30%, it would be a waste, because the 2% is minor compared to the healing it gives you below 30%. The 2% will only happen after it's been activated, which will only happen when you're below 30%.

The 2% will only happen after it's been activated, which will only happen when you're below 30%. the issue with this is that all the finishing moves of the other classes can be used on you at this point as well so in pvp u have to (and i mean have to) use your other CD's like shield and possibly an adrenal so that u dont get raped after u get to 30% health otherwise u die prematurley and the heal us thus moot. so you have to save up your panic buttons for this last little bit to pop them all at once which is not very smart in the first place
Fordel
Yea, Adrenaline Rush isn't actually bugged, it's just sorta... iffy. It's a long cooldown and a drastic trigger but without a significant benefit to go with all that. To really get your moneys worth with Adrenaline Rush, you have to trigger it quite a bit lower then the 30% mark, which has it's own issues. Then without our tank talent, the healing just stops at 30%, even if you dip back down below. With out tank talent, its shorter duration version of the old Adrenaline Rush, with a longer cooldown and a trigger pre-req... It's not gravy. Really, I'm not even sure why it's an active ability at this point. Like, why not just have the 'Fired Up' part be passive at this point. It has a 60 second window or potential mediocrity.
