  1. Generally you do not want to revive until everybody else has died, as if the group kills the boss you won't get loot if you aren't there, and if a healer wants to revive you obviously you'll still need to be dead. Choosing the second option will revive you inside the instance, though if you choose the first option you should still be able to reenter the instance after your group has finished with the boss fight.
  2. You need to get close to the adds with the barrel before they'll start attacking you. After that you can click the barrel off. Your DPS will want to stand on the opposite side of the boss from the adds.
  3. The only way my group could do it was by leaving the arena to avoid hits and waiting for the shields on the last two adds to fall off. I can't imagine that's the intended mechanic, there's no reason for the shield to fall off on two of the adds and not on the other two.
  4. I'm getting progress on it on one character, and no progress on another. Tried abandoning and everything.
  5. Probably whichever has the best mods and enhancements, which I don't know off hand. Assuming they're equal, then chest gives you more mitigation, which is what you're looking for. Offhand gives tech power to help DPS, but that's not your job.
  6. While this is true, if you can't get good DPS on a dummy it's unlikely you'll be doing any better in an actual fight.
  7. Pretty sure he was joking, mocking BioWare's apparent stance on the subject. While I don't play a shadow, as a Vanguard tank I always found Kitru's posts insightful and worth reading, no matter what he was talking about. It is disappointing to see such a great member of the community disappear, but if you find something else that you enjoy more then that is a good thing and I wish you well.
  8. I assume you're doing this on Hard Mode? If a Regulator spawns, (ie orange or yellow phase, two of them will spawn) DPS should ignore them and focus on the cores, as failing will cause them to respawn plus an additional rectifier. The DPS can then take them out more leisurely afterwards, when they only have to deal with the strong adds or the boss showing up. If you have to fail a phase to take care of adds, it should be purple, not orange or yellow.
  9. To my knowledge it has nothing to do with class composition, and never has. Just Random Number Generator.
  10. This isn't a bug, this is how it's supposed to work. If it started ticking above 30%, it would be a waste, because the 2% is minor compared to the healing it gives you below 30%. The 2% will only happen after it's been activated, which will only happen when you're below 30%.
  11. Note that operations cannot be done until you hit level 50.
  12. Keep in mind though, level 50 won't be the top level anymore and the old hardmodes and ops won't be the standard endgame anymore.
  13. If you haven't done the instance before, you should let everyone know in advance. Generally the idea going into these is to ignore as many mobs as possible, as there is no benefit to killing them. If people know you haven't been there, they will ideally slow down and let you follow so you figure out the shortcuts. If they don't, well then they really have no one to blame but themselves in the event of accidental pulls or deaths.
  14. Which is a problem because BioWare had made statements indicating otherwise. Making the gear easier to obtain is fine, but turning it from top tier gear into essentially the new Tionese in the span of a single patch is rather disheartening.
  15. Columi gear should be sufficient for both modes. In Eternity Vault, you need multiple people working the pylon puzzle. Soa also summons two lightning balls at a time. In Karagga's Palace, the Heavy Fabricator summons little stun and explosive droids (I don't believe he does this on SM, might be wrong) and each of the lava shooty things have slightly different effects on him, though in my experience most people just keep him on the one he starts at due to overgearing. Other than that it's just increased enemy health, damage, and what not. Less room for error.
  16. If I recall correctly, they do if you mouse over them, it was added recently. However, that doesn't mean people are going to read them.
  17. There is a quest on the fleet that has to do with it. No plot development ever happens in the raids themselves because convos with 8 people are tedious.
  18. You can check your lockouts by opening your quest log and then going to the lockouts tab, just for reference.
  19. I'd say Dooku as well but that's arguable.
  20. Heh, luckily I'm a trooper and it's really hard to make bad looking trooper gear. ... Unless they've been saving it all for the next tier...
  21. Savrak smash. But remember you can practice the mechanics in story mode first, they're almost the same.
  22. Just wait until it becomes available in group finder and do it then. The mission won't expire or anything.
  23. You install the client (which I assume you've done). After setting it up, when joining a group, if someone (or your guild) has a server, they will give you the IP or hostname, the port number (if using Vent), and the password (if it has one). You open the program, enter the information in the required places, and press connect. The specifics vary depending on what program you're using but the general idea is the same, easy to figure out.
