I think people who perceive someone with a difference of opinion as dumb or slow should be considered dumb, slow people.

I think you contradict yourself mate. His OPINION of the people that have a different stance than him is that they are dumb and slow. Then you go ahead and accuse people like him for being dumb and slow for having..........a different opinion! It's YOUR opinion that people who share his perceptions (a different opinion) are slow, dumb people. Lets be careful how we insult others ok?

words can be funny sometimes....

The delay issue seems to be related to server load. When I played at a very off hour (5 AM GMT on an Euro server, normally populated areas like the republic fleet had less than 20 people in them), there was no ability delay at all. The game was unbelievably responsive, compared to how it is at peak hours (ping remained within the same 50-60ms ballpark as I usually see).

I imagine this is why this doesn't seem to have been caught in testing.

First expansion better be the removal of the hero engine and replaced with newer, top of the line engine.

If this is indeed the main problem with the game and this is indeed how you feel. Then do what I did. Quit. I know utter fail when I play one. Great single player experience in this game but thats the end of it. Hero engine is the problem. it will never go away. End of story. If this was a simple bug that was easily fixable. Seeing how many people are quitting over this problem, bioware would have hotfixed it a week ago.

But as is, they havent because they know its a flawed part of their core. Their entire engine is terrible. It cant go away with a basic fix. Because is isnt a real bug. Bioware is probably franticly scurrying around the offices trying to find a way to bandaid a workaround to make the ability use less delayed.. it will never be what we are expecting though unfortunately.

Even though I also tend to blame (everything on) the HeroEngine, I don't believe that it is beyond fixing, they just need someone obsessed with performance, a guy who converts while into do loops to save a single comparison (and afterwards reviews the assembler code to see what the compiler did with the change).

I came from LOTRO, no problems for me :D

Sucks to be a WoW player... I really really pray that ******** things like DPS meters and aggro meter doesnt make its way here like WoW

To all WoW players, quit whining... go back to play your WoW.

Someone mention a few beginning post saying rated 1 to 10...

1 being WoW

10 being LOTRO (for me its 8)

8 being SWTOR (9 for me :D)

Don't tell people to quit whining because your fine with subpar gaming.

Even LoTRO had better character control, hell even BAD DUDES for NES had better control.

Warhammer Online is suffering from the same issues and they didn't fixed it since 2008.

Same devs, same bugs.

And to be honest SWTOR is preety much Warhammer Online with Star Wars IP.

Glitched animations, weird character poses, completely unresponsive abilities.

Deja vu.

On the flipside thats Free to play, so who cares? This game has a shot though!

Hoping.

But it's preety funny, because they transferred [Mythic] devs that slaughtered Warhammer Online [the game is preety much dead at this point] and they did exactly the same to SWTOR.

So right now we play in Warhammer Online in space, because [in my opinion] it's not possible for them to completely fix this issue [and even if they can - it will take months].

Untill that time people will already play Guild Wars 2 / Diablo 3 / WoW Expansion.

The game was behaving quite badly for me today. At least a good dozen times shock failed to fire when I told it too, and I needed to hit the button repeatedly to trigger the ability. At least a few times, it ate a global without going off.

I was saying this months before I even got into the beta, I just knew they were messing it up. But nooooo all the fanbois adored them and couldn't wait to play their beloved huttball.... I thought Huttball looked lame when they first announced it, but it's beyond contemptible when you actually sit down and play it.

To the people who love the combat.. you have low standards and are obviously blinded by the IP. This game will have a small subsciber base in 6 months, who are only there for star wars and the quests/story. Do you think the 10million people that play wow give a damn about the lore?

World of Warcraft sucks.

World of Warcraft is ten times the game SW:TOR will ever be, even though it was made almost a decade before SW:TOR.

World of Warcraft did not have one single issue of this magnitude on release. Yes, it was laggy. Yes, there were huge bugs. The servers crashed all the time. The game was still great, however.. you know, which is why it is at an all-time-low at ten million subscribers, while this game is at an all-time-high at one million.

Enjoy your 300 million dollars worth of sound that you've probably already listened to. This game is dead in the water and if you honestly can't see that after playing the combat, you're a broken person.

World of Warcraft was 263 million total in development at the launch of The Burning Crusade.

SW:TOR already wasted 300 million and they can't even afford 15 guys to code an engine over the course of the 5 years they wasted.

Have fun playing the new Sims Online.

Its true its boring but you know stuff WORKS in that game.

Like when I hit an ability it fires, EVERY, TIME.

Its only boring cause I did the same thing for 7 years. It was amazing in the beginning and had its moments of entertainment after that.

Love the game enjoying the hell outta it but playing pvp with a gunslinger is challenging

First step : remove natural cover , only use crouch

Second step: set ability queue to 00

Third step : remover shadows option in graphics ( game looks bad without them but hey that option doubles my fps )

Forth step: check fps 70+ , check ping 65ms

And still have lag , low fps , ability lock-downs, ability lags and such

Hope the hype doesn't die until they fix this

Having ability lock-downs for 5+ seconds is bad , only happens in 1 out of 3 war-zones for me though.

Especially annoying as most of the time i have to break cover .. move ... re-establish cover and try again, usually dead by then.

But still great game , need more guild mates to lvl 50 so we can start care-bearing in pve.

Also thx to all the imperial players who let me finish my Ilum weekly in 30 min ... having a 10 man imp escort just waiting for me to cap an objective so they can recap it was fun ... gg world pvp

I also have this same type of ability lag, but also what I think is a related issue with my bounty hunter's jet charge. If I am targeting one enemy, quickly switch to another and use jet charge, I will charge the first enemy I had targeted.

I don't have any other characters with a "charge" type ability so I'm not sure if this is universal among those ability types or not but it I would file it under "bad responsiveness" too.
