  1. lightning = weather = no place in star wars? i think the emperor would contend that weather does have a place in star wars. apply palm to face and hold it there.
  2. when i went to buy some new gear with comms i was also suprised especially to see alacrity on my assassin tank's new gear. i had to google the issue just to make sure i wasn't missing anything. what a ridiculous waste of time and comms.
  3. this is a terrible idea IMO. isn't the purpose of the legacy patch and the legacy name to make your own personal story about your characters? now every other noob on my server is gonna have the same name as me. awesome. thanks bioware...
  4. looks like i got someone's attention. you're not a dev. don't tell me how to resolve my issues. forum posts get rolling and devs see the large number responses and quite possibly take them more seriously than the in-game tickets, which are probably swamped with noobs asking questions they could answer themselves if they used google
  5. if you lose a member to a DC or other issue, you cannot invite a willing guildie, you can only get new pugs through lfg, which apparently also will reset whatever FP you are doing. thanks for the waste of time, group finder.
  6. everyone has their opinion, but this is very close to just flat wrong. cloak of pain reduces damage by 20% from all sources and can last up to 30 secs with a 1 minute cooldown, while also reflecting damage at attackers. this means that for half of literally every single encounter, they have damage mitigation close to being on par with what an assassin can do (and even more once they nerf the armor rating given by dark charge). force shroud makes you basically invulnerable for 3 seconds (5 with tank talents) on an equal 1 minute cooldown (45 secs with tank talents). 3 or even 5 seconds means that maybe two and no more than 3 attacks will be mitigated in PVP (because of GCD). it is also easy to counter in pvp. when you see the other guy glowing white, dont waste your force / energy / rage etc. for a mere 5 seconds TOPS, let i tbuld back up, and then unleash your attacks. this is in comparison to 30 whole seconds of having your damage turned back on you while dealing 20% less.
  7. and marauders defensive cd's are arguably as good or better than assassins, they certainly have more. they're probably next on the mind-numbing nerf list.
  8. yes this would be cool, but why don't you just go play another game entirely? people asking for all this new stuff in space is just absurd. BW has enough to deal with right now maintaining the existing game and dragging their feet getting new content out without trying to implement an entirely new portion of the game. lucasarts just needs to get battlefront 3 made and then we can do stuff like this on a game who's gameplay features already focus on what you're asking for.
  9. full space flight is for another game entirely. this isn't xwing v tie fighter, it's an MMORPG. why do people keep asking for this? would it be awesome? heck yeah it would be! but i'd rather just have more MMO content to do, not incorporate a space flight simulator into an exisiting game.

  11. another idea i just had is to possibly change the heals from a flat % per lightning tick, to stand in line with damage done. this way, assassins who really need to get some heals on can throw recklessness to proc basically two auto crits of channeled force lightning, and make this dps talent more useful to tanks, whose focus should be mitigating damage anyway, not dealing it. also, make recklessness retain your HD stacks so you can get two decent self heals and move on to your threat gen rotation.
  12. if anyone out there knows both sides of the fence (assassin/shadow) and can translate these powers and abilities i've referenced to republic players, that would be appreciated. everyone should know how badly they are about to get screwed.
  13. i was just browsing the PTS forums, and was very distraught to see the upcoming changes to assassin/shadow tanks. i sifted through at least 30 pages of people saying 'why', and couldn't find one response from any dev on the issue. i know they pay people to monitor these forums and bring certain issues to the developers table, and this post had 51 pages, certainly worth taking a good hard look at, but apparently not worth the time to answer the obvious question of "why?" isn't the PTS supposed to be there not only to test your patch (which will undoubted break the game and cause 3 straight days of downtime ), but to see what your players think about these changes? not only will dark charges effects be nerfed when proc'd (right after they buffed them with 1.2:rolleyes:) but also 50% reduction in healing gained from lightning ticks? reducing armor increase during dark charge from 150% to 110%.. these are HUGE changes individually, and crippling when combined together and deployed at the same time. come on guys, you can do better than this. maybe you should get the story developers to try to come up with some better ideas, because the gameplay mechanics team are clearly out of touch if a flat nerf if their answer to every PVP player QQing about this or that. if you're gonna nerf us, at least nerf us with some dignity and not this shooting a wounded race horse method you consistently keep implementing. how bout these ideas? currently to gain heals from lightning, you need 3 stacks of harnessed darkness, which are proc'd from shock and wither uses. if the heals are too ******, why not force us to build a 4th stack of HD? with the respective CD's of shock and wither, this would effectively make the healing proc take an additional 6 or so seconds to gain, w/o killing the extra survivability assassins get from their self heals. another thing you could do potentially is get rid of the instant cooldown effect on shock given by energize procs. a lot of people don't use thrash/lacerate enough in their rotation anyway, and only the best players know to try to maintain it. this would result in less shocks over time which = less harnessed darkness stacks over time which = less lightning healing procs OVER TIME instead of a flat nerf. this would only slightly reduce the effectiveness of skilled players while maintaining the viability of the class to those who are maybe new to assassin tanking or just not really good. and let's face facts, the people out there who aren't skilled aren't making the assassins looks as OP as the QQers make them out to be, it's the skilled players who dominate because they are skilled and adaptable, not because assassins are just that amazeballs awesome. the armor buff from dark charge and self heals through HD stacks on lightning is what put assassins ON PAR with powertechs and jugg tanks. this flat, uncreative nerf will put them flatly behind in usefulness compared to other tanks. nerfing damage to an OP dps class is easy, but when you start messing with survivability, you hurt the mechanics and tactics of an entire group. i hope to christ i don't have to try to LFG for ops with BH healers, or i might as well just type /stuck in the middle of every operation boss edit : rather than add additional ideas of my own via posts, i came back here to add another idea to help the situation. change interrupts to differentiate between PVE and PVP. harnessed darkness makes your lightning uninterruptable, which is ideal for PvE bosses and mobs, so why not keep it that way, and make interrupts be able to break PvE 'uninterruptable' powers such as harnessed darkness fueled lighting channels? this way the PVPers crying about overpowered assassins only have themselves to blame if an assassin is healing themself up.
  14. if you wipe, you should be punished by dying and getting repair costs. it's the mechanic of the game. you're asking them to bring back a game breaking function so you can use it as an exploit.
  15. you have something of a point, but don't act like you've never been annoyed by something in this game and just wanted to rage a little bit about it. i could've thought out the title a bit better, but that doesn't make what i said in my post any less true. it is stupid, period.
  16. yeah, re-roll a jugg so i can deal with the same thing in the opposite direction. i'm looking for some kind of explanation for why this is the way it is. and i know knights have the same issue, most people understand that it is implied when someone says warrior it also equates to knight and so on. thank you though for your completely unhelpful trolling response. any response that advises you to re-roll is coming from the very same depths of true idiocy.
  17. i've taken 3 toons to 50; sniper, assassin, and merc. i decided i wanted to make a marauder. if only i knew the armor angst i was in for. can anyone explain the reasoning behind screwing warriors by splitting the armor types they can use? no other class has to deal with this, ALL inquis wear light, ALL BH wear heavy, ALL agents wear medium. WHY OH WHY are warriors punished this way?? i just went through BT 4 times with my jugg friend to try and get myself the medium chest piece, all 4 times, the heavy strength piece dropped. this is inexcusably idiotic that warriors are singled out this way and should be changed with the 1.3 patch. heavy/med/light armor seems to make very little difference when it comes to survivablity (i would know, assassin tank wears LIGHT ARMOR and i can tank many things better than most PT/jugg tanks) edit: after the fact i am realizing i posted this in the wrong forum area, my mistake. doesn't change the fact that this is just plain dumb.
  18. 4-5?? try 40-50 or a hundred even (in the case of the critical shade bracers for myself). if you think it isn't broken you're either the luckiest person in the world with your procs, or you're just no real crafter because you haven't tried hard enough to get tier 3 patterns. IT'S A BROKEN SYSTEM. stop wasting space with your smarmy know-it-all titled threads.
  19. 6 seconds worth of +50% to ranged defense everytime you leave cover and 3 charges of ballistic dampers to get 3 free automatic attack absorbs every 20 seconds. if you're not moving with your sniper, you're doing it wrong
  20. i was thinking of making a similar thread. after playing lightsaber for a while i also wanted to try ranged and my ranged character seems overpowered in comparison as well.
  21. being able to trade up tokens would help as well. 5 tionese = 1 columni, 5C = 1R, 5R = 1BH. simple, effective, and really no actual reason to not do it this way with a little tweaking on the ratios.

  23. op, play mass effect 1+2 and then play 3, and you will see how much bioware really gives a crap about your decisions, which is less than none. the only decision they care about is the one we all keep making to give them money.

I ask, nay, I DARE any dev to come out and explain to me why it isn't 100% guaranteed. no one wants to re-do foundry 10 times, try fighting through the still persisting HK fight glitches, just to get to the end to have a piece of agent gear drop for a group of force users 10 times. i'd love to be able to move onto HM OPs, but i'm relegated to re-running the same bugged FP's to try and get a token for columni gear, only to have something drop that is not only completely useless to anyone in the group, but also BoP, effectively making the entire flashpoint a complete waste. i can do every single FP in HM with no problem (except for lost island, defintiely hard, but fun), and i'm sick of doing the same thing over and over and over, only to be screwed over time and time again. this is the kind of thing that makes people rage quit. i'm not that kind of person, i'll just (by the definition of insanity) do it over and over again i suppose because i really do love this game. i just would like an explanation for why this is the way it is.
