  1. After what happened a few years back when some people on the Forums went looking for info about one of the class devs, I am not surprised that there is a subset of people like that on the forums...

That was the 3.0 (or somewhere around there) sentinel/marauder changes, right...? I wasn't too involved with the forums at the time, but I caught the tail-end of the overreactive whining.

..."whining." Yeah, no. That "whining" was downright scary, actually. o_O

Anyway - thank you, Keith! Thanks for the heads-up and some news. :) Looking forward to the roadmap and future updates!

  2. My sister started playing it, and she absolutely loved it. (She'd still be playing it if her computer didn't decide to croak. Darn computer! She's hoping to get that taken care of reeeeeeeeeally soon...) She told me all about her various characters and adventures, but it wasn't until a year or so later that I got the game as a birthday present. I already loved Star Wars, but I was antsy about a multiplayer game - I'm an incredibly shy person, both in real life and online (...not so much on forums, it would seem :p). But I decided, what the heck, and got it anyway.

I started playing a few weeks before 3.0 went live. My first character was a smuggler gal, based on a roleplay character I already had. The first cutscene played, I heard my character's voice for the first time (character creation was bugged but I didn't notice at the time), I stepped out onto Ord Mantell... and my jaw hit the floor. I promptly fell in love with this game.

Why am I still here? Because I love the stories and the characters that shape those stories. I love the storytelling, and the freedom to shape further stories beyond what happens in the cutscenes, through imagination, through exploring, through writing and roleplaying.

    Long live SWTOR. :)

  3. I don't skip it on any toons because that is a lot of credits to walk away from. Couple million to do the whole chain so might as well :)

... I need to learn not to drink water when I'm at my desk. (My sister and I made a rule for our forum roleplays not to eat or drink when at the computer. Inevitably, one of us will say something that will make the other choke/spit out water. :p Like me accidentally almost naming a character Fat Bagel. *halo appears around head* Oops.)

A couple million? O_O I've...never been able to squeeze THAT much out of it... how'd you manage that?

  4. Here's a thread that deals with this issue: there is a workaround posted within. :) Basically, leave Belsavis (or Corellia; the glitch occurs there, too) and go to some random other planet. Then go back to Belsavis/Corellia using your ship.

Make sure you're actually selecting Belsavis/Corellia. By default, the map selects Section X/The Black Hole (daily areas) on those respective planets. If you try to travel to Belsavis/Corellia proper from Section X/The Black Hole, the quest does not update.

Thread going a bit more in-depth.

  5. Howling Tempest. And it was Lana who sent the droids around. She convinced Kai Zykken that he owed you a lot of money so he hired Gorro to take care of you.

That's it! Gah, it's only been a week or so since I took my last character through Rishi, and I already forgot. :p I think at that point, I just glossed over the storyline. "Been there, done that, heard it time and again..." I wouldn't even be taking my last character through Rishi - except for the fact that Alliance crates are piling up from Heroics, and I don't want to start an insta-60 or -65 just to turn them in. And skipping Shadow of Revan/Ziost just doesn't feel right. :p

...and I wanted my female sage to finally break out of her shell and start romancing Theron Shan. XD

  6. Hypothetically, if they did it, say, 8 AM GMT, it'd be starting between midnight and 3 AM in the US, so at the very least, you probably wouldn't see many Americans inconvenienced, and Europeans wouldn't have it any worse than what the American audience currently has. The Australians, on the other hand...

And there's that "somewhere, somebody will complain" thing. :p (Thanks for answering my question, though; I was legitimately wondering about that.)

  7. Um... maybe because the studio's in Austen, Texas? In America?

If they tried to find a time zone that wouldn't affect anybody in America OR Europe, somebody SOMEWHERE would complain. I'm not actually sure there is such a time zone. Is there? One that's in the middle of the night for both America and Europe? Does such a thing exist? (I'm not being sarcastic; I'm genuinely curious.)

  8. I can't even remember who Kai Zykken is... Though my SW wasn't one for flirting much, unless it was with Quinn. :D

That guy on Rishi who is absolutely convinced you're the captain of the Red Hulls/I forget the Imperial equivalent. He's the one who sent out the crier droids announcing your arrival, I think*. You barge into his headquarters to demand who let him know you were coming. Notable for being one of the best voice-acted NPC's in the entire game, in my opinion. :p

*That was either him or Lana Beniko herself. I forget which.

  9. A stroke of genius :D Filbert Widmark Pierce is going stick! Sorry Devs (I'm not sorry). Our favourite imperial/former imperial will be forever known as Malavai Francis Quinn. His statue better say "Malavai Francis Quinn, Consort to the Empress of the Eternal Alliance".

Filbert Widmark Pierce: MY NAME IS NOT "FILBERT," IT CERTAINLY AIN'T "WIDMARK," EITHER! IT'S JUST "PIERCE!"

Quinn: *smug smirk* Now, is that better or worse than Francis?

Filbert Widmark Pierce: Worse. By far, it's worse. Hey, what about Jaesa? She doesn't have a middle name.

Quinn: What sort of name would be embarrassing to a Jedi?

    Filbert Widmark Pierce: Mildred.

Quinn: The name actually means "gentle strength." Not embarrassing in the slightest.

    Filbert Widmark Pierce: Ethel.

Quinn: Which means "noble." Again, not embarrassing.

Filbert Widmark Pierce: Then--hey, would you stop writing my name as "Filbert Widmark Pierce!?"

    - No.

Filbert Widmark Pierce: I hate you. ...sir.

    - Likewise. Lieutenant.

Quinn: *entirely unable to stop smirking*

(I gave up on the ugly green for Pierce's words. My posts started to look like a piece of modern art. :p

Edit: Also, someone yell at me if I'm being annoying. :o)

You don't have to romance them for romance options to be jealous, if you flirt with others.

That and Andronikos's final conversation - where he talked about having kids and, when my inquisitor expressed dropped-jaw confusion, smirked at her and said "I could be persuaded" - convinced me that he has a crush on the female inquisitor even if she doesn't reciprocate. XD

  10. :D yay I made Purple Quinn respond. o/ another vote here for Francis as Quinn's middle name. As for Pierce it's unfortunate for him that Filbert Pierce just seems to go together nicely.

Pierce: No. I only need one name. It's a cool name. >_< Shut up.

Pierce's mother: FILBERT WIDMARK PIERCE, DID YOU JUST TELL A SITH LORD TO SHUT UP!?

    Filbert Widmark Pierce: ..........sorry, mum.

Pierce's mother: Mind your manners, Widdy.

Filbert Widmark "Widdy" Pierce: *turning the exact same shade of green as this text*

  11. Traditionally, hands-on-hips is a pose that says "I'm ready for action". He's in our stronghold bedroom. Make of that what you will ;):D

    Quinn: ... *ahem*

Was that a "I'm blushing so hard my face is on fire" ahem, or a "This is going into territory I'm uncomfortable with" ahem?

Quinn: That was a "Indeed, you may make of that as you will" ahem.

...MALAVAI. FRANCIS. QUINN. You CAN be se--

    Pierce: FRANCIS!?

Quinn: For the love of the Force...

    Pierce: *dies laughing*

Quinn: "Dies" laughing? Good. It saves me the trouble of shooting you myself.

    Pierce: "Francis"...oh dear stars...ahahaha...

Quinn: Because your name isn't Filbert or Marion or Ashley or Widmark, is it?

    Pierce: *abruptly goes very quiet*

    Quinn: Ha.

  12. Wait, what? We originally pulled such a stunt to get Quinn into Broysc's ship and it was cut?

Can you imagine the glare he must have sent Pierce's way after he punched him? Priceless :D

    Or...

    "It's such a mouthful. I prefer 'Mal.'"

"I like the sound of that. Your captain will return to duty now. Mal will see you later."

Just imagine that said with that boyish smirk on his face.... I'm meeeeeeeeeeltiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing.....

But yeah. I wanted to see that zany scheme to capture Broysc. :( ...but hey. It just means there's more fuel for fanfiction! More of my warrior giving her terrifying death glares (seriously she looks scary when she's angry) to Pierce when he punches Quinn.

  13. Yes, the green eyes are really something! Why did they change that too? :(

He was scared? LOL I must try this. Basically, the voice of the female Inquisitor has kept me back making a female so far, it sounds so bad to me. :o

Anyway, as we discussed before, I am a Sith, so I can make Talos love me. :p:D

Here are the portraits of all companions, they are still in use, which I have always found strange.

    http://swtor.wikia.com/wiki/Companion_Character

Most of them are the same, but some of them has bigger changes. Quinn looks better in the final version for starters. Mako looks more Asian. Lokin looks like a serial killer hehe. Doc looks like Tom Selleck LOL. Yeah, Corso is different too.

I couldn't get used to the female Inquisitor's voice on my lady inquisitor. She's a rattataki slave; what is she doing having that sophisticated an accent? I eventually just went with headcanon: that's not her natural accent. She's affecting a British--*cough* sorry, IMPERIAL--accent so she doesn't stick out among the Sith even more than she already does. She just is slightly unsure about it, and so goes over-the-top in her accent.

Eventually, it *did* become her natural accent, as she spent years among the Sith. It sounds like it fits her now; or maybe that's just me getting used to it. XD Anyway, that's my take on it.

Oh hey, there's that picture of Corso as a Kiffar! Cool. Looks like he had pale blue eyes along with those tattoos...okay, that's slightly eerie. o.O

Yeah... Dr. Lokin looks...creepy. Geez. I am so glad they changed that for the final game.

  14. By the way, I haven't found any information on these strange portraits so far, which are still in use. Talos definitely looks 27 here, and I was disappointed with the "real" Talos' looks when I first met him in person, since I expected this guy instead. He looks sexy and so much better here, not to mention young.

About flirt options: do female Inquisitors get Flirt options? Because I only have males. I want it, and want it now!

...wow. Those eyes. Okay, if he had looked like that, my female inquisitor would have been all over those flirt options in a heartbeat (just for fun, I did flirt with him just to see his reaction...he sounded terrified, and Andronikos went -2 in disapproval for some reason [didn't romance him], so I exited out and tried different options. XD) Yeah, he looks twenty-seeeeeeven waaaait. Hold on. What is that hairstyle. O.O That's different than the one similar to it that we get to use in-game (my consular has that hairstyle). It looks cool!

As for Corso being a Kiffar, yeah, there are beta videos and screenshots of him with yellow tattoos across his face. Frankly, he looks amazing, but that might be my Corso fangirl shining through. It would've been pretty neat to have him be a Kiffar...but they probably realized they couldn't work that into the storyline (one touch of a holocomm a certain somebody uses and bam, you know who's betraying you... before you even knew they were a traitor or that there WAS a traitor to begin with).

  15.

    Quinn: *BLUSH* :o

    He approves.

    Quinn: Wha--I--I do not!

Then why the blush and the lovesick smile?

Quinn: .......the, ah, room is almost uncomfortably hot. *opens a window*

    Uh-huuuhhhhh...

Quinn: ...I am very tempted to climb out this window.

    Mm-hmm.

    Quinn: *inches towards window*

You're still staring at the lady on the bed.

Quinn: I AM NOT. :o :o :o :o :o *makes an effort to look absolutely anywhere else*

And if his middle name is indeed Francis, that's another thing we'll add to the list of "Things to Absolutely Never, Under Any Circumstances, Tell Pierce." XD Though, if it ever slips... we'll just taunt Pierce about his lack of a first name. ...or surname; "Pierce" could very well be his first name for all we know.

Does anyone remember who flies the ship in the Ziost intro? I've done it so many times, and I can't remember :o I just had giggle fits taking my Inquisitor through and had 2V-R8 as my pilot. My assassin has all of his companions, so I can't imagine why the ship droid is piloting, unless they are all hungover or something...

Speaking of Inquisitor companions, I'm pretty sure I've had male flirts with Talos not too long ago. I don't like Ashara, so my boys are full of regrets that Talos is just a tease.

It's either Vette or Quinn. I'm not sure... I really want to say Quinn, but it's been so long since I did Ziost on the warrior. :(

Odd... all vanilla romance/flirts are strictly straight. o.O What the heck *did* they remove from beta? The ability to kill companions, I know that. (I still hate it when the "kill Ashara" option taunts you. YES, I WANT TO KILL HER! Argh!) Also, Corso was a Kiffar. That would've been cool.

  16. But he looks so good like that though.... :) In his draw me like one of your french girls pose.... ;)

Also be glad I was being tame purple Quinn...I have a whole bunch of emotes unlocked and a devious mind.....could have made you do far worse than that lol Not to mention the twi'lek dancers

Quinn: *goes pale* ...m-my lord. You wouldn't. Would you?

Oh, she would. In a heartbeat.

    Quinn: ...why?

Mostly because your terrified/nervous/indignant responses are funny. That, and...well, you're Malavai Quinn. ...I was going to put a middle name in there, because I once headcanoned a middle name for you, and then I totally forgot it.

    Quinn: Oh, thank goodness.

    Pardon?

    Quinn: Nothing, sir. :D

Do you even have a middle name?

    Quinn: Uh...

Most people in Star Wars don't. :/ I mean, you don't see Mace L. Windu, do you?

    Quinn: ...who?

    Nevermind.

  17. Just giving you heads up, made me laugh so hard I almost let the tank die in a raid...worst healer ever lol

Quinn: I--I--where did the twins come from!? I'm an only child!

In glitches, all things are possible.

Quinn: Why is one of them named Malavai Quinn, and the other simply named Quinn? Did someone forget the first name of this mysterious triplet?

    Evidently, yes.

Quinn: And what am I doing sitting on the bed like that!? I...would never.

    Neeeeeever? Even with the Warrior?

    Quinn: *is suddenly very quiet*

    Quinn: ...*squeaky voice* maybe

  18. I think they were the same flirts still left in for the ladies today -- in the very early conversations -- but I cannot confirm if it's still an option for the men because... I don't have any male inquisitors. >_<

So, it's possible they can't now, but my fiance's first character at launch was a male inquisitor and he definitely flirted with Talos in at least 2 - 3 conversations. He was surprised by the [flirt] options and incredibly flattered that Talos seemed to like him. xD They had a bromance with a little extra emphasis on the romance and it was adorable while the flirts lasted, and then they dropped off and it was sad. He was like, "Did I do something wrong? Is it me? Why can't I flirt with my little healer dude anymore? :( "

Needless to say, he was saddened to discover that Ashara was actually his full romance option. He doesn't play often anymore, but he is still, years later, very disappointed.

He played a warrior in beta so I'm not sure if there was ever more to the Talos romance, or if it's always been a big tease. I feel like they could have at least given us Pierce-levels of content. Sigh.

That...is... odd?? o.O I recently took a male inquisitor through Hoth (he's to Belsavis now), and there were no flirt options anywhere. Hm. Well, I'm certainly not complaining. XD Talos is too adorable for romance, as weird as that sounds. He almost became like a father figure to my female inquisitor. The first thing she did upon seeing him again after KOTFE was run up and give him a giant hug before he could even get out "Oh! My Lord! You're alive--" "[TACKLE HUG] EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE ~"

Quinn: Talos is a fine colleague. But... *ahem* *points at thread title*

    ...oh right, sorry.

    Quinn: :)

    You DO enjoy the attention.

Quinn: Yes. I simply don't admit it.

    You just did.

    Quinn: ...prove it.

*plays back recording* "Yes. I simply don't admit it."

Quinn: That is the part I do not enjoy. The part where I can't win. Ever.

You beat the crap out of Doc a while back. I'd say that counts as a win.

Quinn: ... *small smile* Perhaps it does, sir.

  19. Y

I like that even male characters can flirt with Talos once or twice. Was it the original plan to let Talos be romanced by both genders?! And why not anyone else?! And why didn't it happen?! :(

I'm going to be choking on the rest of my cup of water at this point... They CAN!? o_O When...?

Also, Talso was a full romance option in beta?? Awww... that would have been simultaneously adorable and a little creepy. XD

  20. I actually love Pierce's character and I wish they did a lot more with him. He's got kind of a neat backstory and I think they missed an opportunity to get to know Pierce more during the whole Ziost ordeal.

*spits out water* Pierce is only 29!? ...what. I...I find that hard to believe, somehow... he came across as somebody roughly a decade older.

Anyways, welcome new poster! :D Quiiiiiinn?

Quinn: *sigh* *signs poster* Your autographed poster, Darth Spyderwoman. *bows and presents poster* ...may I please stop doing this.

No. It's cute. Don't be rude to new fangirls.

    Quinn: *tiny unintelligible angry noises*
