  1. The only problem I see with level sync is that it makes story content too easy, like the final fight between Baras and SW on Korriban. All that story stuff should be instanced but I guess BW thought that would be too much work smh.

Outside of that I'm suspicious of motives against it. The main reason to abolish it is if you're an OWPVPer that liked ganking lowbies. And yes, they tend to be the same people who want a return to pvp servers. I read through this thread and have yet to see anyone who wants it abolished who has a single good reason to justify doing so. How would it benefit players? IDGAF about your stupid game philosophy, break down the pros or stop crying.

  2. I reset the mission and did that. It did not change the problem....

Now....... today for some reason (as opposed to 2 days ago) resetting the mission does not return me to the beginning (with the long cut scene of Jedi and Sith working together.....) but just to the start of the "Relax in Cantina" part.... so no chance to talk to the four :(

Just an FYI, there's another relax in the cantina scene in kotfe XI and it's also bugged. There's an intercom that is supposed to get the cutscene but it's not lit up. Simple solution is just log and try again.

  3. No idea, but those ones where you have to find the exactly right, microscopic spot to be able to loot their corpse are really annoying.

To loot? Yeah I noticed that too. What a weird change. That still comes up a bit post kotet but not as often. One other thing that bugs me about endgame looting is that kotfe changed the loot table: it used to be standard enemies had a chance of dropping loot, Strongs always dropped loot, Elites had a better chance of dropping better loot, and champs, same. But if kotfe you can kill strongs and elites and there's no loot. That has persisted into onslaught.

  4. Then don't do them. There are other dailies...

They aren't a daily, they're part of the main story.

Why do people comment if they're ignorant about what OP is talking about? This walker mission has been bugged for ages. It is not news. It is not player preference. It is unplayable unless you know how to jinx the mechanics (and are willing to die at least once).

  5. But to be honest if you can, how would you know that the majority of players are not ok with these changes. It feels a bit like because there's a handful of people complaining about it on the forums that suddenly that represents a majority.

As a general rule when you're happy with something you don't often post that on the forums and when unhappy the chance is much higher that you post here.

So as much as I question BioWare's decision making, I'm not convinced these changes are not well-received by most people.

Oh, certainly. I'd be the last person to claim the forum is representative of the game pop. But feedback on the forum is so pointless and there's no other place designated for feedback [twitter? idk] that it's easy to get into this tunnel vision mentality that opinions on here are representative - because there's nothing to compare it to.

This raises another question: if our community managers weren't completely ignoring the forum, would that be better if they listened but did nothing with it?

Suppose Eric did weekly check-ins (and kept doing them), and people would pose questions and he wouldn't just cherrypick the "Great game! Perfect as it is!" answers but took a bunch like "moar class stories!" and "fix pvp deserter debuff" and "I'm being squelched for spamming my referral link, slap in the face!" and sent them up the line and the week after we got responses from devs, and the responses were all "sorry no money" and "we have a vision of pvp..." and "thanks for your feedback!" Would that be better or worse than what we have now?

  6. The way our "community manager" has gone stealth on us again (as usual) I have to wonder, are they even aware of there being an "issue?"

rofl, I could see them all, happily sitting at the BW Representatives/MVP table after getting the Monday morning update from the community manager:

"Wow, so, PVPers are completely happy with balance? Rewards for PVP are viewed awesome now, in fact some even say maybe we gave too much?!?! haha! And the quitter debuff!? So, it's well-received, and players are loving how quitters are finally being punished for leaving games?!?!? WOOHOO!!!! We done it guys, we finally got the game going in the right direction! Well, let's see, how about conquest? Oh, smaller planets still love how they now can actually compete against the larger planets?! And, what about the changes we made to the...

Yeah, that's about how i see it going tbh.

I think you've summed up BW's mentality for everything they do, not just pvp. And yes, I caught the dig to Eric. Though you have to wonder how stupid the system must be if one guy is responsible for relaying all player opinions with apparently zero accountability. Actually, that reminds me a lot of public administration so on second thought, makes perfect sense.

  7. Just to say that I have it in my legacy, I bought it.

3.1 million to access the terminal.

50 cartel coins to buy the train.

5 million credits (or so) for the two unlocks.

    2 minutes work.

I remember back in the day a guildie bragging that he had just labored to unlock the train doing the flashpoint 10 times. He doesn't play any more, but he'd probably puke to learn how easy it is now.

This logic baffles me. It's the same logic that kept arma rasa off the CM for literal years. "back in the day I worked hard for x, therefore everyone must do the same, even though x is no longer new content". I did the Alliance Recon Data thing. I was particularly happy to have done it as a preferred player. IDGAF at all that players can just buy it with creds, because I bought it years ago. Why should newer players go through that nonsense just because I did? Entitled spite?

  8. This is why the Karen meme exists.

"We're paying customers, and we're entitled to ruin your game! We can do whatever we want, because we PAY a subscription!"

Yeah I hate those kind of players.

I think it was back in 2.0 or 3.0., where people would farm warzone comms to DE implants for high grade mats. These people wouldn't even buy the expertise gear, and every game with them was a loss, because losing as quickly as possible was their goal, since it was easier and more profitable. Repeatedly vote kicking and verbal shaming was the only way to get rid of them..

Yeah, I hate players with this mentality even more. This quote really deserves to be its own sig.

  9. Regarding Preventative Measures. I wonder if the issue is with the current leveling experience. I wonder if the script expects a particular level or level range and, because we level so quickly now, we are over level and the script skips that mission.

I've never seen the swtorspy missions you mention and have been playing troopers since 2.0. As for this theory...I doubt it. I use the White Acute Module to slow down my leveling to pre-level sync speed, so I am usually at the right planetary level or range for these convos, and still don't see them.

  10. I Like the trooper, used to be when you recruit Elara, Jorgan will welcome her and tell her how great it is to be recruited into Havoc. Now he just complains. I tried to increase Jorgan's influence, but he still says the same thing. Also on Voss for the trooper, there used to be a optional quest where the Voss Senator directs you to his secretary but they removed it completely.

Yup, I remember both of those! Interesting you mention selective memory, I thought Jorgan always welcomed her but now I'm not sure if he did with the last trooper I made.

  11. I'm pretty terrible at them too. I'm always surprised on this forum to hear people bragging about how easy they are - like you, I've never passed one of the space heroics.

You can buy or craft artifact ship gear, which helps a little, but not enough.

  12. Why do you have 2 threads bro?

    - What will happen with crew skill slots for current and new characters? As sub I've got 3 crew skills and I need to know if I have to buy crew skill slot (account) in gtn before subscription will be over because they will be "blocked" like as f2p.

you will have acces to 2 crew skills instead of 3 and you cant craft more then 1 item per comp and only 3-5 comps are allowed

Use a referral as soon as you're able to. This will send a mail to all current and future chars you make that includes a crew skill unlock, as well as a bunch of cosmetic unlocks.

    - What will happen with Guild and Personal Cargo Hold with current and new characters?

you will retain acces to your cargo bay but you cant expand it with credits and you lose acces to guild bank completely

You can unlock guild bank access as a pref by buying it through CM/ GTN but tbh it's not worth it. BW borked the system so you are prevented from using guild funds for repairs or withdrawing credits.

    - How many characters can I create/keep each server after that? What happens if I've got more characters as allow?

i believe 12 chars max per server but if you used char slots then more

When you change from sub to pref you will have to manually reactivate every char. They did this change starting in 6.0; very irritating. This means that if you are over the character limit you will have to choose which chars you are going to keep and which will stay deactivated.

    - What happens with gtn slots especially if you've got a lot of offers there (for example around 10 or even more)? Will it turn back to 2 slots like as f2p?

    i dont know about this

Ten slots. You can get an unlock to raise it back to sub levels but tbh I never bothered.

  13. I think people are reading too much into world design changes.

This is probably just going to be a modest improvement to textures/light etc. and with any luck, upgrading the conversations to use the improved camera and lighting

I very seriously doubt they will start changing already complete content into something like a walker mission. That would make no sense at all.

Agreed. I mean, I wish they would make those sweeping changes AND I wish I could be confident in their ability instead of apprehensive, but most likely we're talking about very small graphical changes.

<SNIP> Flingeld, Spanios & Moracen, Sharkboy

The quests you describe sound extremely involved. Consider that when they brought Malora back our previous interaction counted for almost nothing - blink and you'd miss it. Likewise I was disappointed to find that doing Dreadseed to meet Acina had nearly zero impact on meeting her in KOTET chapter 2.

Considering what a waste the "old enemies" scene was for almost every class in the Nathema FP, I wish they'd instead used enemies encountered during these exploratory starter planet missions. Flingeld would make a great expendable villain rather than Servant One.

  14. True, but our game time is considerably less than before. So when something else comes along, it will be much easier to leave.

I use to spend 40-70 hours a week in swtor. Now it’s more like 2-4 hours on average

I remember mocking you over this a couple years ago. But tbh I'm kinda in the same boat. The majority of my characters were made and completed several years ago, these days I manage 2 new characters per year at best. The game just isn't as appealing a trade off with irl stuff. Even with COVID.

  15. It's actually their business philosophy to have people leave and come back when stuff is done, thus taking the pressure off of them to put out content that keeps people engaged and continuing to subscribe.

Do you remember where they said that? I remember them saying the same thing, but can't recall where I saw it. Maybe when they did that under the hood infographic a few years ago explaining player percentages for different classes etc, but idk where that went either.

  16. Wow, what a bunch of drivel. I think this thread went way over your head, sorry. If I actually wanted to put down a thesis with evidentiary support...I feel like I am back at university.

It's depressingly common in this forum to meet people who are apparently offended by figurative language. You're lucky you haven't been scolded for saying "we need" because x lunatic didn't see your representative survey and is furious that you're speaking for the forum without his express consent.

  17. My favorite male style is BT2, but I've BT3 fighters, soldiers, Some BT4's to add to the mix, and a few 1's, as they are designed to be small, etc

My fav female is BT4, it's the one I use most, as I said, it's more of a classic figure, but I've created some large woman (amazons) for diffeerent purposes, and the odd 1 or 2.

I do the same. BT2 males, BT4 females, and a mix of the rest. When I first started keeping track of character info, after playing the game for 2 or 3 years, I was surprised to find that almost all my female chars were BT4s.

  18. Hm, I solo this on a regular basis, depending on my character I use different methods. The biggest thing for many of them is to get out of the AoE's. With my ranged toons this isn't an issue because I can kite and shoot at the same time. With my melee it generally means I take little breaks from attacking to avoid the AoE, then it's right back in there.

Most of my toons are in 306 gear and I have all the different heroic moment moves unlocked so I don't have to worry about the adds much. However, if your gear isn't great and you don't have all of those heroic moment moves I would recommend getting the adds when they appear. That helped me a lot when I was first running the fp. Also, check your companion's influence, get them some gifts if it's low.

Same, and I never needed 306s [or even 240s] or to raise Temple's rank. Avoid the aoe and activate the ring whenever it lights up. Activate heroic moment if you have it and Unity. I remember dying the first time I did this but paying attention to the mechanics certainly helps.

  19. It would have been so much better if they had knocked off the useless gimmicks and made three different types:

Horizon: Kickstarter [any level]: increase acceleration

Legend : Kickstarter II [level 50]: increased acceleration, x2 length

Pit Screamers: Shield [any level]: shields from enemy attack

Legend: Shield II [level 50]: shield x2 length

Blatant Beks: aoe attack [any level]: launches aoe blasts while mounted

Legend: aoe attack II [level 50]: aoe attacks x2 damage

That would be simple, useful and the level tiers would make sense. Separate by level just like the rakghoul relics, so ofc you want the lvl 50 ones but they're both for leveling, you want to get real tacticals once you hit 75.

  20. Alliance Specialists do nothing outside the Star Fortresses. And strength of the Alliance ends up irrelevant too - you get the same events with specialists at rank 1 and rank 20

You need them at rank 10 to be useful in the SFs.

They should have been better utilized, however. Battle for Odessen and Endtimes are two chapters where high versus low ranks could have meant an easier or more difficult / neutral battle. Or at least less mobs. Similarly in End Times, the gadgets you pick up during that bonus mission should have come only from optional alliance recruits, not Gault and Yuun. If you didn't recruit them, you shouldnt get the help.

There should have been better rewards for max level specialists too. tf do i care about a new speeder mount? At least it was sellable. A max level Beywan shouldn't leave the alliance, or at least there should be the option to persuade them to stay, perhaps if the char is lightsided or chose peacekeeper or just something. A max level Dr. Hutt should have been able to give a clue about Gemini 16's listening capabilities. A max level Sana Rae should have been able to predict at least one FU plot element, whether it be Malgus, Scourge/Kira, Vinn Atrus etc. A max level Hylo should have made an optional sidequest to use the Adegan crystals picked up on Umbara to create stealthed alliance ships. LS: Blockade runners, Neutral: Spy ships, DS: Bombers.
