  1. WoW doesn't have a lifetime sub. Where did you find one?
  2. $180 a year that would mean you need to play about 2 1/2 years. I don't think I would pay that up front for any game. Not even WoW. Plus with Disney taking over, who knows what will happen long term even though I feel optimistic they won't do anything to can or ruin the game. Don't get me wrong I would be very interested but not at that price. And yes I love game and if I played longer than 2 1/2 years and end up paying more then so be it. I hope to be playing for another 2 1/2 yrs but who knows what the future holds.
  3. I would assume they can either pay monthly or switch to f2p. I don't think their account or character will just be deleted.
  4. I have faith things will keep moving in a positive direction. The server I am on, Jedi Covenant, is pretty good population wise too. Welcome back!
  5. A lot of the crying and ripping on the game is just people who aren't happy with the game, which is fine, and then feel the need to bash it. Look at GW2 for example. That game hit its peak fast and has gone downhill fast. So many have stopped playing already and that game was supposed to be the end all to MMO's. Tera same thing except for the ultimate mmo part like GW2 was supposed to be. These people will defend their game to no ends either even though those games fail. They had a huge post about why some of the devs left. It happens. The lead devs for WoW left after BC to do other projects which I guess could lead you to worry because the expansions started getting worse till now. ToR has a strong group of followers right now and leveled off. People can keep saying it is dying all they want, but a wed day (not night at prime time) on Tatooine with 82+ people tells me it isn't and doing quite well. BioWare is the first company also I have seen to pump us with tons of information before launch and still communicates all the time. People just take it for granted now and expect BioWare to keep giving us updates every hour. They already told us what is coming in 1.5 and already told us tons about the future and people still cry. Look at GW2. They don't give any information and or what the future holds unless it is a couple weeks away. Heck they didn't even have forums until well after launch. ToR had the forums going years before launch. I remember signing up first day the forums allowed you to. Anyways let the haters hate. They also are still paying to play too which is funny. Those saying they did 6 months makes me laugh too because if they are this mad now then why did you pay for 6 months because obviously you haven't ever been happy with the game.
  6. That is null and void though. They said the 6 weeks of updates will be AFTER 1.5. So no one should be say anything about 6 weeks until AFTER 1.5.
  7. This still won't help those people because come Dec 1 they will say, "It's winter now. Where is our blah blah cry cry blah?" So you may want to put the actual dates to so they can fully understand when the seasons technically start.
  8. That event is just a one-time thing. It isn't going to all of a sudden have people coming back out of the wood works. It won't cause people to leave their current games. If anything, some people may just log on to check it out. Just like the Halloween event. As for space they talked about it in the past and gave an example of how it will be and people seemed to love it. But that was before f2p. So honestly I have no clue what they will do with space but I have a feeling they will stick to the course with the new space they were planning on awhile back. Should be awesome if they do. I forgot which sim type game they said it would be like. Maybe someone here will remember.
  9. Shouldn't have to. Example: LotR. You can just download the full game. I think they are charging for the newest expansion though. But all free. CoH same thing was all free as was Star Trek Online.
  10. One of the things about mmo customization is people want to try and make their character as unique as possible to others and that includes names. I am not a fan at all about doing first and last names where the first name can be used many times. I know for a fact I am not the only one who would say this also. I don't know any mmo that allows multiple of the same names on the same server come to think of it. Not saying there isn't but of the ones I played I don't remember any of them that allowed it. I know Secret World was mentioned but I believe the nick name itself had to be unique. SWG you could use first and last names but I honestly don't remember seeing 2 people with the same first name. I could be wrong as it has been ages but just sayin. So why does ToR need to then? No thanks.
  11. As much as I hate to say it but the OP is right. It is their game and you chose to pug it so now you have to deal with it and they can play how they want. Simply ask them if they don't mind pressing the spacebar. If they say they do mind then there is a kick option which I will not promote to do because that is messed up but the majority rules. But the flip side is at least show some courtesy if you already saw it before then press the spacebar. There is no need to keep seeing it again. But no one should tell you what to do. People can sit in Fleet and form a group and set the rules then.
  12. I would like to hear how people would propose BioWare then to handle this situation to please everyone? You can't have duplicate names on the same server. No mmo does that that I am aware of. At least not any of the major mmos. So having /played and when the character was made should be 2 of the biggest factors involved. I agree people's names mean a lot to them. I have a few ways to have my name just for cases like this or transferring etc. Is it fair to those who didn't keep their names? No. But still want to hear then how you would solve this pleasing everyone. (This wasn't directed at you per say OP more so at TUXs since he wants them to go back to re-visit this)
  13. Guild Wars 2 already went down $10 also. So what's your point? ToR is going f2p which will be $0 so I am surprised to even see them still selling it. GW2 is still new and has no sub fee and already $10 off.
  14. I wish I could but for one I wouldn't install any game on my work pc. 2 I wouldn't even want to use my work pc to play an mmo and lastly we have an open office so there is no way I could anyways without someone seeing.
  15. Has anyone actually timed this because I ran an an errand which took at least 15 mins to 20 mins and came back and was still logged in. Not saying you are wrong OP but just saying I was able to do this and stayed in.
  16. The complainers always like to read over the important info and just read what they want and change it to suit their needs.
  17. My God people just need to complain to complain. 4-6 weeks is also a timeline they are shooting for. If you actually think it is possible to always hit that mark on the head then you must be new to mmo's and games in general. It's funny how Tera and GW2 don't pump out new content and people aren't crying, yet ToR released a lot of new content quickly after launch and now that they got back on track released 1.4 and soon 1.5 which is huge, people are crying.
  18. How isn't it working? ToR has more subs than Rift, Warhammer, Tera, AoC, Aion, The Secret World. So if ToR isn't working, then no mmo out is working except WoW and EVE. Not one mmo after WoW has had their subs continue to go up. They all hit peak about a month after then dropped big time then leveled out. GW2 the logins now compared to the first 3 weeks are significantly declining also. Also SWG says hi. How are they doing? They were full sandbox and peaked at like 200k subs which kept dropping. Don't get me wrong, I loved SWG and will keep so many fond memories of that game and the people I met, but that game was bugged to hell, had almost no content (pre-nge), and was basically just a social game with pvp. You could switch specs within a day or two of grinding.
  19. WOW sounds like you pretty much want SWG. Sorry but SWG is gone and won't come back. And a NO WAY to player housing. I don't want to see a cluster of houses blocking the nice landscape. Player housing isn't built for today's mmo. You need a game like SWG where the terrain is all open and ugly and blah. But they could make our ships more customizable inside by adding fun things. In Beta you could bored friends ships if you were grouped. To please those people who want player housing then bring that back so they can invite friends to see their ships. Space have patience. Being you are trying to make this game SWG, you do realize there was NO space at all until their first expansion which took some time to come out. BioWare already said they will be doing something and there has been talk of which type of space model they may use which seemed like a lot of people loved here. Make the planets bigger? Ummm they are already a good size. You must have only played GW2 where exploration is considered major content (which is a complete joke imo and a cop out to real content) and has big areas. I do agree with the linear feel. Granted you can go where you want but you are right in it doesn't feel as open and more like 90% explorable. I loved that about WoW how it felt fully open and you could go anywhere you wanted and now with flying mounts in all areas I loved flying over places back in like Goldshire area on top of waterfalls etc. Overall though, from what I got out of it, is you want SWG. I myself prefer how BioWare is doing this by adding other content, work on more operations and warzones, adding the new planet and other types of content. We simply don't need bigger planets and NO to player housing.
  20. Jedi Covenant seems very populated. All my characters are on there on both sides and have 50's on both. Working on another alt and was just done with Tatooine and and it had always 75-85 players on it and honestly this was during the week day. Night time was around the same. As for pvp haven't done lvl 50 warzones in a couple months because I wanted to see some other class stories so I dunno if the premade issue is that bad here or not. I do know guilds like LD50 can't be beaten and I think they que a lot so Sith side not sure if people are starting to stop queing.
  21. How many more same replies can we get for Episode 1?
  22. Dagobah, although it was a swamp, but still that was deep. Sank the whole X-wing. Also not shown I guess but Naboo has a lot of little bodies of water which I am sure were deep. Just never saw anyone in it. Oh the Gungan city was under the water and was deep. Episode 1.
  23. Forgive me if I am not mistaken but during this time frame I don't remember any jedi's wearing that type of robe. I played KOTOR 1 and 2 and honestly don't remember seeing anyone in that. I could be wrong though.
  24. Let's see. Disney purchased Marvel. Disney's own writers wrote the Avengers. Avengers was a huge success and a great movie. Pirates of the Caribbean was a great movie. They said they wouldn't be giving this to the Tron 2 writers so we are in good shape. Like someone said earlier, Disney is seen as family friendly. Star Wars 4-6 actually was pretty family friendly. No blood. No bad words. No sexual scenes or sexual content. Only time they really showed skin was Leia in her slave girl outfit. So why are people so worried about this fil being kid friendly? It will be PG like Pirates was and Tron 2. Plus like it or not, Disney does have some amazing writers. ex. Avengers. Disney has stated they will be taking very special care of this franchise and making sure they give it to the right writers.
