  1. Warhammer was a horrible game in ALL aspects. The pvp imo was extremely horrible as well. The community felt non existent as no one would talk, couldn't find groups and just felt like I was alone out there even though I saw people running around. The game launch was pretty bad as well. The content was extremely lacking and almost similar to AoC launch where they didn't even finish the content. Besides many other things, there was one point people got triple charged due to some issues on Warhammers end which had people overdrawn on their bank accounts. Even though issues got resolved later, people still had to pay bank fees. That right there pretty much ended Warhammer. Even before that, the population had already dropped so much after a month of launch. Game is shutting down because it isn't making money. I am actually surprised it is even still up.
  2. Since you felt the need to say you been playing since Beta so will I. I have been playing since Beta and saying you will quit over something like that does make you sound like a spoiled child. Where these people feel they are owed stuff just for playing is beyond me. I actually hope they do bring it back and keep the same rewards so I can see you not quit the game like you said you would. All these Veruca Salt players today.
  3. I think the population has been fine and seems like more since April-July. This and WoW are the only games where I have made an alt lately to see how the population is leveling, and I see people everywhere. Sure not as much as since launch where people were all starting their mains, but for a game over a year old, the zones are decently packed still. I checked out GW2 again and talk about a ghost town. Made a new toon and no one around. Got on one of my mid level alts. No one around. Hate the game anyways but just wanted to see.
  4. To me a successful mmo is one that can stand on its own two feet and still be up and running. UO is a great example. They still are up and running and even still make you pay monthly, yet their subs are probably in the 10's of thousands only. But I feel they are still successful because their servers are still up. As long as a company is making any money, it is successful. If ToR had 200k accounts only but still made even a little profit, I would consider them successful.
  5. Canada has a Thanksgiving fyi and last I checked, Canadians != Americans. I'll to you what. When your country, assuming you are from another country based off how you replied here, develops a global mmo that is popular in the US also, they can use your holidays for double xp and events etc. The main base of its players are in the US and it is made in the US. Logic from a business standpoint is you do things like this on American holidays being that is your target audience.
  6. I still can't believe people are still upset about a whopping $10 DLC which they gave us a lot for. People got mad because they felt they needed a huge full expansion, yet those cost $40+. $10 was nothing for what we received with it. Perfect amount of content, even though some felt it should have been a whole huge world like a WoW expansion for the $10. There was no RotHC fiasco at all. You are lucky it was only $10. I bet other companies would have charged $20 for it.
  7. ^ sums it up. If it is in the game then obviously Bioware wanted people to be able to follow those paths and have choices. Who cares if YOU are tired of it. Let people play how they want. People might be tired of you feeling the need to having to follow 1 path. That is another reason why I love this game because you have choices and can define each character you make. Maybe I want a hard core light side Jedi Consular but a dark path Jedi Knight.
  8. Depends on what you are looking for. Those are the only 2 games I sub to. I play mmo's for the end game raiding. ToR imo had a decent one but simply way to short and too easy to clear the hardest level. I stopped raiding on HM EC as then it was the final one for that loooong stretch. Cleared it in a matter of a few weeks and the guild decided to move to a new game. So for me WoW > ToR in that aspect. As far as everything else I like them both equally except for me ToR > WoW in leveling as I really enjoy the story and questing in ToR and loved making alts. The majority of my time does go to WoW though because since I raid then I put a lot more time into my character. ToR I will play casually for fun now on the weekends here and there.
  9. Hahha heck yeah!! I think the whispers are saying "Take off your clothes" like in Aladdin". j/k Or it may be saying "If you build it. He will come"
  10. You have no clue if they have or not. You are going off the 1.7 mil subs they had down to 500k which yes is a big hit, but now being f2p, you have no idea how many new accounts have been made (non subs) or how many new subs came out of this let alone now with CM, they could be making even more then the 1.7 subs only with no CM. So again to say they haven't recovered is something you honestly have no idea about. I don't either. Only EA/Bioware do for now but directly from their mouths, they are doing quite well. So to me it sounds like the recovered quite fine even though with 500k subs back then is still great compared to many other mmo's out there.
  11. This is true indeed. I am still raiding in WoW but not sure if you have been over their lately but in my experience overall, you really don't have to be in a guild much anymore to raid. WoW has LFR which you just queue and raid an easy mode version of the raid or now they have Flex raiding which using a certain addon, you can find a run very easily. Flex raid is tougher than LFR but easier than normal mode. Also depends on the game. If you want to do harder content and push for those server firsts etc. you will need a guild. But that old sense of needing the "nod" is starting to diminish except for the hard core. I am not hard core anymore but still do heroic raiding so something like that I would need the nod but another thing to remember now as well is that a lot of these guilds allow social/friends to join and they are able to participate in alt runs or their own flex raiding. So just because you don't do hard core raiding, lots of guilds do more casual fun runs for all in the guild.
  12. Please don't post things you have no clue about nor facts. ToR in FACT has recovered fine and are currently making money. This was stated by them. So hmmmm. I think I will take what they say being they have the actual numbers and reported it publicly, vs you who has 0 clue what is going on behind the scenes. ToR is quite live and well and doing grrrrrrrrreat!!!
  13. They could add pve to galatic starfighter if they wanted and likely may do down the road. I am not talking like the ground type pve, but they could implement "quests or missions" to where you have your team made of you and AI and you need to help destroy something, help escort them to a rescue mission, or go full on war against the opposing side of AIs also. It doesn't only have to just be pvp. There are plenty of pve options they could do using this style over the space on rails currently.
  14. What I suggest you do is first decide what you are really looking for in a guild. Raiding, pvping, just casual and having fun, RP, leveling guild etc. Then I would ask around the server or keep your eyes open for guilds who seem to be known on the server and try and talk to some of them. You don't need to join their guild but maybe just talk to them and let them know what you are interested in and maybe they may have friends or know of guilds to meet your needs. Usually the top guilds of the servers tend to know about many of the guilds on the server. You can try the Guild Recruitment page too. Not sure how good it is here, but at least you can learn about guilds and maybe send them tells in game and get more info etc.
  15. ^ Pretty much this. People don't take the time to read the full article. They just read "name change" "losing names" and assume they will lose names now. Personally, this is a great idea and I wish more mmo's did this every so often.
  16. I've been here since Beta and still a subscriber. I don't feel I deserve anything special. The only way they need to thank me is just keep doing what they are doing and creating fun new content in a timely fashion. But to feel I am owed bonus things and special things is ridiculous imo. If I feel I am not getting the value or fun off my $15 a month, then I simply unsub. No biggie. Why should those be entitled to a special vender because they have subbed longer then others. Do you just set a time table and say, "Those who have subbed for over a year get access to this vendor". That is a horrible idea.
  17. My vote is for SirCopperField. He adds some funny humor and watching how riled up and serious people take him adds more good laughs. Andryah was my toss up vote because even though people may get upset with them for being the white knight, they have made a lot of fair points and I have agreed with most of their posts defending the game at times.
  18. People on forums like this usually need attention at times and will post "I quit" threads or "F this game. They aren't doing anything I want so I am leaving" etc. only to never leave or leave for a few days and be back.
  19. I personally want my character to look bad a** while I tear it up. I care very much about appearances in mmo's because of the time and effort you put into them and want them to look good as well.
  20. People take this clown so serious. If you don't have the humor for him then don't read his posts. I think it is a fun little bit and entertaining and brings a nice change to all the complaining posts. He generates lots of replies too.
  21. I guess you will never be truly happy then because NOTHING in ToR will EVER be something from SWG. Seriously people, get over it. They have nothing to do with each other. Different developers and different time lines etc. One is a sandbox one is a themepark. Go play the SWG emu's or something if you need it that bad and stop expecting or wanting things from that game here. People will always complain or not be happy no matter what BioWare does. I for one think it looks great and will fit good with their game.
  22. Arenas should NEVER be geared or try and include the casual pvp'ers ie. "cause it's fun" crowd. Arenas should be very competitive and made for those hard core pvp'ers just like the difficulty modes for pve. I am a pve'er and enjoy doing some pvp, especially in Star Wars, but I would never expect things to work for me in arenas. If I ever did one, I would expect to get rolled. Warzones on the other hand sure. Those can be catered to all types.
  23. The end game raiding is nowhere near as competitive as WoW's. I am sure each server on both sides has good raiding guilds who can clear the content fine. You should check out the server forums and see what guilds are recruiting and how progressed they are. But over all there are only 4 or 5 ops. I stopped raiding after EC way back, before the NM came out a few months ago, because we cleared everything to fast and ended up disbanding and moving to other games. My point is to show basically there isn't tons of competition and I don't know if there is even anything that keeps track of real rankings or anyone who really cares. I really like the Ops ToR made though. They were fun and actually one of the better raids besides WoW. As for PvP, I don't know. I know on my server, which is pve, has a couple hard core pvp guilds. Republic side has the better guild for it and pve for my server.
  24. I don't really need anything from them for being a sub. If they choose to do things then cool. But I don't feel entitled to receiving anything special for it. They give me free coins a month. I don't use them, but it is still something. Devs do all they can to get the word out on things. The only other thing is to send a bright pink message that takes over your screen once you log on and you have to click a check box that says I have read this and then type in your character name. I really don't think that would fly over to well with people I don't know any other game that does this for customer appreciation. The biggest way to show it, to me anyways, would just keep adding great and fun new content.
