You can't reason with people like that. Trust me, they likely haven't seen the other f2p games or else they would be praising BioWare. They get to do everything except Operations. They get the full 1-50 experience with storyline which imo is already more than enough. The limited 4 mans and warzones are perfect because it is meant for just to try it out. If LotR had this stuff you would be paying for them and not even get to try them. Also LotR makes you pay for a lot of the good quests that has decent loot rewards. ToR will still give you all those except the purples unless you get that license or whatever. ToR is giving people the main part of the game for free which a lot of people just play for anyways. CoH's f2p main part was your character customization and they totally butchered it for f2p where you basically looked lame and normal and not a cool superhero unless you wanted to pay for each unlock like the head, body, etc.

I respect your post as it is your opinion and constructive criticisms of what you feel but in all honesty this part, "I feel that there is a lot of "grinding." is where you lost me. This game is far from a grind. Is this seriously your first mmo because Vanilla/BC WoW, GW2, Aion, AoC, Rift, Tera, Warhammer, LotR were all way worse grinds. Heck look at Tera. You NEED to have the top enchant to do anything and people are spending tons of money and tons of time on failed enchants. The grind just for that is insane. Aion was huge grindfest especially as a higher level they ran out of quests and people had to do like 5-10 levels of just going around killing mobs for xp. ToR is far from grinding. There are way more quests then needed to hit max level and that is not even having to do heroics. It is extremely easy and fast to level. Also once you hit max level it is so easy to get your gear too. I have heard GW2 is a pain to do so and extremely grindy and it is 1 dungeon. With ToR you have many dungeons to run so at least you have a mixture. Plus the story mode raids are very easy to do and pug. Sure you may not get the best gear if you aren't in a raiding guild, but to get good enough gear is quite easy. Crafting is quite simple and fast also. I come across so many things for all professions while questing on alts that you can level that up too. Plus you can also send companies on those gathering type quests where you don't have to do anything and still get xp for that. Just keep sending them out everytime they are back. It is also cheap until way higher level but credits are so easy to get you will be fine. Again not trying to say you are wrong but imo having played many mmos since UO, ToR is one of the less grinding games I have played.

First to start off BioWare shouldn't make any time of meters or threat stuff because no game does. They should allow more easily for add-ons though but I don't think BioWare should nor be responsible for things like that. I just have a couple things: 1) Make the end game raiders longer and add a few more bosses. I really like how they actually did them where it felt like an actual theme and great atmosphere like some of the raids back in vanilla/bc wow where you didn't just kill 2-3 trash mobs and have a boss right there. You actually had a lot of trash to get to bosses but the atmosphere made it fun. Also make them a little more difficult. 2) I am not huge into pvp but I hope they focus on getting ilum fixed soon and make it actually fun. Star Wars is the only game I actually really want to pvp in besides just warzones. I agree with you on the Tionese stuff too.

Not sure when you quit but the last patch added a new Operation among other little things. There was a new warzone added awhile back so since you didn't say when you quit not sure if this was there then or not. Also a new 5 man and LFG system came into place. So if this was all here when you quit up to the newest patch then nothing a whole has changed content wise, but lots of little things have been added/fixed. World pvp still nothing updated. So if you are playing this game for the pvp and you didn't like the warzones then you probably still won't like it but for me I think the pvp is still better than Tera and GW2 and those are pvp based games whereas ToR is pve based. Like others said though, just try it and see. Overall there is no huge difference between this and all the other mmo's out there. If you think this is repetitive, then try GW2 which is extremely repetitive and has tons less content and boring.

TUXs it cracks me up how you feel the need to respond in such a condescending manor. And don't say you don't because I have seen enough of your posts. "Maybe you're new here". LOL yeah he must be because you don't like his replies. TUX you likely haven't been hear that long either or maybe not paid attention to the forums or game as much but ranked warzones simply weren't ready yet. Yeah some were up in arms but what can you do? This is why BioWare tries to throw out too much information because it may end up not being ready yet. But reality is they simply weren't ready and they were not silent as long you said. In the way beginning before launch, especially with the Friday updates, they said they didn't want to give any information about anything up and coming because it may not end up being ready or even be put live. They were good about that until after launch. Too many people got to used to all the information they kept getting that they kept complaining about wanting more. And it wasn't months of silence after the ranked warzones weren't in that patch. Your mind must be clouded.

My God you are blind. Arena Net is horrible in communication. Tell me this. Why did it take a couple weeks after launch to finally get a forum up? Last I checked BioWare did it years before launch. Arena Net is talking about a current event. WOW. ToR has a huge picture of their new patch and what is in it. They told us about f2p months ago. Arena Net has told people jack squat about the future. Im looking at their website and all i see about content is still the Halloween stuff. WoW only talks about things on the PTR that will be coming. Yesterday was the first we knew the next new raid opened. I had no idea till now. Like I said in my last post to you, I don't think this game or company is for you. They are beyond all other mmo's in giving out updates and communication and you should just stick to GW2 the most boring mmo on the market next to Tera.

I'm on Jedi Covenant and it seems pretty packed. Was on yesterday day on Tat and there were 80 people (republic). At night got on my main (empire) and the fleet was in the hundreds. I think 2 phases or whatever you call them. So ever since the last server merger and release of lame GW2 and MoP, it doesn't seem like ToR took a hit. At least on Jedi Covenant.

I don't see anything from this game changing because of this new ownership.

Actually it isn't a bad idea. You are obviously clueless about the industry. Having college students who are studying radio/television are quite capable of acting and doing voice overs and can do a good job at it. Having something like this on their resume will really help them out along with the experience. Not only that it saves BioWare a lot of money. You must not have seen other f2p models because ToR is the only one giving you sooo much for not paying a dime. CoH's f2p was horrible and you couldn't even really customize your character too look decent. That game was all about character customization. LotR's has tons more restrictions and not only that, you have to pay for some quests while leveling. ToR is letting you experience the full game except raiding. You are lucky to even get a full storyline which is their #1 selling point and what cost the most money. Maybe you should just not play t his game at all and go on to something else. Let me know how GW2 and Tera are. Oh wait those both are horrible.

In all honest I am glad he won't end up doing that. I love this franchise and as long as the right people can keep it going I think it will be great.

Blizzard, Arena.net and Funcom have not given squat. Blizzard hasn't even told us about the next tier raid yet or even mentioned it. All we know is what is in the next patch which is what ToR has done but more. Arena.net? LMAO they are even worse. No one knows what is going on. The only thing we knew about was some halloween event. They mention what is coming soon but no different how ToR is doing it too. What do we know for ToR? All what you said plus f2p system plus HK-51 unlocking etc. That is pretty big stuff. What more do you want? What is coming out next summer? Good lord. I guess there is just no pleasing some people.

Do you remember when Tera, GW2, Aion, LotR, AoC, Rift, etc. all had videos with their devs non stop talking about the future... oh wait none of those games did like BioWare did. So many people took all the stuff BioWare for granted because I have yet to see any mmo give out as much info that ToR has done since 06 to date. There were those months recently with not much info, but any smart person would have understood why instead of crying about content and updates knowing the situation they were in. The future has been nothing but talked about for the past month. See that big picture on the homepage with those links that talks about it? The future is the game is going f2p but they will also keep pumping out content along with a new planet soon and a new max-level.

I honestly feel Disney may actually do well with this. When you hear Disney yes obviously you think of family type stuff, cartoons, stuff f or kids, Mickey Mouse, love stories etc. but in actuality they also have amazing writers and have put out other movies besides G rated. Watcher in the Woods for example. The way I look at it is it can't be any worse than Ep. 1-3. Having good writers and a good director will produce a good movie. I don't think they will be better than Ep. 4-6 of course, but I think they will at least please a lot more people than 1-3 did. I like this purchase because I love Star Wars and what happens when Lucas retires/passes away? I think Disney is a good company to have the name now and can keep it going.

Where are you getting your numbers from? "Aion 4.5 mil" Aion does NOT have that many players. That game tanked as fast as it was released. It didn't even come close to the mil mark.

Who's selling it for $30? On Amazon new ones are $68. Granted it is still cheaper but oh well. Next time just buy normal versions of games and wait for the prices to drop. So many whiners. If this game doesn't have more than 100k paying subs by then, then that means Tera will be shut down because it would have 2k subs. GW2 would be dead etc. Hate to break it to you troll but this game still outsubs most of the others except WoW and I believe EvE. It has way more than Rift, Aion, LotR, Tera, Warhammer, EQ2, EQ1, etc. GW2 has hit a huge decline of people logging in also. If you say it hasn't then you are blinded. GW2 hit its peak fast and after a month has dropped significantly. I was on Tat the other day and still has 85-100 people on it. I logged on the first time in awhile for GW2 and it was dead in the starter area and dead in the 1-30 areas. Logged out 10 mins later of boredom. So come 2013 hope you are still here so I can say, "I told you so." p.s. LotR says hi and their f2p and numbers increased a lot and still increasing.

So you paid for 6 months and your 6 months ends right on the dot of f2p? I highly doubt that since we don't know the release yet. Also why don't you already cancel it then. Because you said you "were" going to cancel your sub meaning you haven't yet. Why not just uninstall also now since you will be any Tuesday now?

I am a CE owner and I am fine with everything. I purchased the CE because I really love BioWare and the game during Beta (still love it) and wanted to go all out for it. I got it for the stuff it included like the music, statue, authenticator etc. Most CE's do that and give you 1-2 in-game lame items that don't do squat after lvl 10. ToR did a WHOLE lot more with the speeder in itself along with the other things. The CE shop was cool and the first time I have seen t hat and well the game changed directions and now is meaningless. Oh well. If you purchased the CE strictly for the shop then that is your fault and imo kind of nuts. But it is your money. BioWare didn't even need to offer the CE people more coins. They could have said oh well sorry. Some people who buy the CE's feel they always deserve more then the other people because they paid more. Yeah we paid more 1 time. We all pay the same monthly fee and we got more stuff buying the CE. To continue to have perks is a bit much. Don't get me wrong i like it if they want to do that but I don't feel we CE owners are owed any more. I got my monies worth with all the stuff in the box.
