Except, on my server at least, there aren't anywhere near as many assassins as there are sorcerers.

If you can't beat any class in a 1v1 then this is simply a l2p issue. As 31 pt madness I can beat just about any class bar assassins in a 1v1, and as 20/21 hybrid I can beat just about any class besides assassins, pts, and maras.
  3. The battles are more competitive.... because I can laugh as I gank lowbies that I've got a massive advantage over?
  4. Lets apply that logic to class balance. Great, you like playing a sniper, but only like 5% of the playerbase is even going to get a sniper to level 50, so why should the majority of the people who play this game have to deal with bioware balancing the class instead of spending their time making sorcerers more fun.
  5. In most threads people are fine with it, it's just the vocal minority that's super duper against arenas. And just because blizzard botched the arena system doesn't mean nobody would use it here. WoW is a pve game at this point, hardly anyone does rated battlegrounds either, you can't attribute the popularity drop to an actual fault in the arena system.
  6. You've got to give credit where it's due, the guard/taunt system in pvp was at the very least innovative. Tanks in other pvp were simply damage sponges, they could take a lot of damage without dying, so people just didn't attack them and for the most part tanks were left out of competitive pvp. Here they really aren't THAT much more survivable than other classes, but their job isn't just to sponge damage, it's to prevent their squishier teammates from taking as much damage, which in pvp was a relatively new idea and fits the role well. So yeah, I'd have to say that they did reinvent the tank's role in pvp.

    Hi, I'm a sage.

I play a sentinel and a sage, and the trick to beating sages/sorcerers on a sentinel is 90% finding a sorcerer that has no idea how to fight a sentinel. Seriously, don't mindlessly refresh rebuke and mindlessly try to dps through guarded by the force and you'll probably stop getting creamed by sentinels.

    Hi, I'm a sage.

8 hybrid specced sages could literally keep 8 marauders rooted the ENTIRE game. The class is absurdly good in group scenarios and synergizes amazingly with itself. A team of 8 maras would get completely destroyed by 8 sages regardless of player skill. The game isn't balanced around 1v1.
  9. Actually full madness/balance sorcerers/sages are an incredibly good 1v1 class, although not as good in warzones as our hybrid specs are. The class can kite most melee, except for carnage specced marauders and assassins pretty consistently and due to the three rolling dots does much better damage while kiting than the hybrid spec does. Flat out the class will probably only lose to tank assassins and mercenaries/snipers if there is no LoS. If there IS LoS It'll probably only lose to tank assassins.
  10. Who is saying that the majority of the playerbase doesn't want arena?
  11. Except A. It heals for a lot more, B. It can be brought down to 1.5 seconds w/ procs, and C. If It IS locked out, you've got a spammable 1.5 second cast heal, which still has a higher heals per cast time than an operative/scoundrel's only cold casted heal. Not to mention, after you've been locked out of that heal you've still got your ~ 3k bubble and your channeled heal assuming they're off cd, while a scoundrel only has emergency medpack which heals about 2k on crits and will eat up all of their stacks of tactical advantage after 2 uses. IMO scoundrels/operatives desperately need some sort of swiftmend
  12. You'll see a stacking debuff on you, once it hits 4 they'll usually run away and then charge into you. The stacking debuff comes from either force stasis (Their 3 sec stun) or force crush, which slows you down. It's hard to miss. after that they're going to sweep for the big damage
  13. Sorcerers are boring as all hell, just like bounty hunters it's a ton of spam. I found scoundrels to be the closest to sentinels in terms of how fast paced it can be.
  14. Out of the three main dps specs, it really depends on what you like Watchman sent: Highest dps, very survivable with cds up, very difficult to play, very little CC. Infiltration shadow: Great dps, amazing burst damage, not very survivable, a lot of CC. Madness shadow: Great dps, more survivable than infiltration, pretty difficult to play, the most CC out of any of these classes. Focus guardian: Okay dps, amazing burst, amazing AoE, very survivable pretty much all the time, and a decent amount of cc. Out of the tank specs, at least IMO, guardians are a bit more survivable than shadows, but shadows have much better dps. Their cc/mobility is different but overall it's pretty similar.
  15. Necrooooo need not reply.
  16. 0-40 Heat dissipates at 5 heat per second 40-80 Heat dissipates at 3 per second 80+ Heat dissipates at 2 per second 12-8 Ammo: .6 ammo regen per second 7-3 Ammo: .36 ammo regen per second 0-2 Ammo: .24 ammo regen per second I realize this, all of their regens kick in at the same relative points, but with this same scale it would suggest that BH heat caps out at 96, not 100.
  17. Same problems here as last time, very zergy gameplay, for the most part nobody was attacking you or even paying attention to you, and you're going through your rotation completely wrong. You're force sweeping on single target for some reason, but your 3 stacks are still falling off because you aren't using it with bladestorm which begs the question... why are you using it at all? You're popping defensive cooldowns at full health with nobody attacking you, which is even more puzzling. You're using force leap in melee range which is... a bad idea in pvp... You're popping force camo completely randomly, around 1:00 you run off in a random direction at full health, then force camo, and then crippling throw a target that isn't being healed and is at like 1/10th health? Needs work man. Your interrupts are better though. edit: Backpedaling looks awful, but the main reason you shouldn't be doing it is because with your finger on the S key, if your target takes off in another direction you're going to be slower trying to follow him. Luckily very few of your targets here... moved.
  18. Just like every other player in this thread I am god's gift to gaming and the best player ever. I've got a selective memory and therefore I never do bad in wzs. But 10/10 makes me sound like a ***** so 9/10. Amidoingitright?
  19. So I'm just curious, if troopers get 12 ammo and BHs get 100 heat, and the ratio on abilities is 1 ammo to 8 heat, doesn't that mean that bounty hunters get the equivalent of 12.5 ammo at rest while troopers get 12? I've already looked and seen that the regens kick in at the same time, but just for argument's sake lets say that a bh uses 12 attacks that cost 8 heat, while the trooper uses 12 attacks that cost 1 ammo. Just for argument's sake lets say that neither the heat nor the ammo regens during the time they use all that ammo/heat. This means that the trooper is at 0/12 ammo, while the trooper is at 96/100 heat. This means that the trooper needs to wait 4 seconds before he's got another ammo to use, while the trooper only needs to wait 2 seconds before he's got 92/100 heat and can use another 8 heat attack. Is this intentional, did I get my math wrong, or what? I'm just curious here.
  20. The deal is w/o the beams of light people with the small body size could LoS behind the nodes while capping.
  21. I think you're missing that at rest ammo goes up, while heat goes down. At 8 ammo you're 2/3 full, at 40 heat you're 60% full.
  22. Well the issue is that most dps have some self heals, as a watchman sent I can put out enough damage to force pretty much any healer to go almost fully defensive, and any damage they can squeak out my self heals will cover.
  23. umm, a bounty system would be for everyone, not just bounty hunters.
  24. So I heard pvp is 1v1. Having 5 sorcs on a team makes the other 3 mercenaries absolutely god-mode. With every melee on the team rooted, slowed, stunned, or in some other form of cc mercenaries are free to spam tracer missile for unhealable damage the entire game. Mercenaries and sorcerers synergize ridiculously well with each other and themselves, in addition they're the two easiest classes in the game to play AND the most played...
