    I really like force choke/stasis. Even though it's not a particularly good ability, it feels very fun.
  2. I was thinking a bounty system would be pretty cool. If you kill a player, you get a bounty on your head worth X mercenary comms, kill another player and that X rises. And if someone kills you, then they get those mercenary comms.

  5. Gotta agree on this one, a lot of winning a pug comes down to whether or not your leader is good enough to mark the healers.
  6. This simply isn't true, the only thing we've got to keep people in melee is a 50% snare with a 2 second root every 12 seconds. Literally every ranged class has a knockback, a decent trooper or gunslinger should have absolutely no problem getting 10 yards away from an operative. All you need to do is wait till their 50% slow on you is almost up (Its cooldown is the same as its duration) and then use your knockback, that's it. Past that if you stay moving, there is literally no way for an operative to get back on you besides popping their 2 minute stealth cooldown.

The real problem with operatives and their lack of a gap closer is that once an enemy is 10 yards away and has their 50% snare worn off the only possible way to get back on target is with a 2 minute cd. When you consider that knockbacks punt you about that far it becomes apparent that there is a major problem, an entire AC simply shouldn't be 100% countered that easily. Rather than a gap closer though, I propose that our slow and AoE mezz be given a 30 yard range like it is for snipers/gunslingers. Even with this in place, we would have terrible mobility, but at least it would give us a way to viably get back on target. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the most played juggernaut spec, rage, get a second gap closer?
  8. We've got mediocre sustained damage, our burst is great though. However, to pull off the burst you're referencing they need to dump all of their energy which regens slower when it's low. Meaning had you survived their burst for the next 30 seconds or so they would have the lowest damage in the game by a pretty wide margin. We can only do decent dps (even then it's nothing to brag about really) if we keep our energy very high, if we're dumping our energy for burst damage then our dps is absurdly terrible.
  9. I usually hang out in/around the enemies corners because If I receive a pass I can usually pop defensive cool downs and charge someone coming out of their spawn.
  10. I play both of those classes, and I've got to say that the operative is in a pretty bad place right now. The class has a ton of extremely glaring problems that make it frustrating as all hell to play. It's got awful mobility and is awful defensively. But it is bursty, and if you like being a glass cannon you might like it. But my sentinel is definitely a more well rounded class, the only department it's lacking in is crowd control. However, beware that sentinels and marauders are not a class for people new to mmos, they've undoubtedly got the highest skill floor of any class in the game. If you don't reach that skill floor (and trust me, most sentinels don't) then you will do terribly.
  11. I think the problem is that snipers are simply outclassed by mercenaries which are much, much easier to play. My premade was testing out a sniper, with team support keeping him from dying every 15 seconds he actually did a ton of damage, and he was bursty as all hell. But... Then we decided to swap him out for a merc, who was in slightly worse gear, but with the same team support he died maybe once a wz, if that, and was doing even more damage, and it was even burstier. A merc who has teammates preventing him from getting interrupted is better than a sniper in just about any way I can think of, besides the lack of an interrupt & a sniper's AoE mezz, but the difference in survivability alone more than makes up for that. IMO they just need more of a niche than ranged burst damage to separate them from mercenaries, I think they should be given the same MS marauders have, I think that's more than enough to make them worth taking in rated warzones as ranged healer killers.
  12. Full lightning is the stepchild tree for sorcerers, it's set up like a bursty spec but It's big burst 31 pt spell with a 2 second cast time hardly crits for as much as tracer missile. Hybrid specs are overpowered but madness is still a very strong spec that's just as easy to use as the hybrid specs, but has less burst, and AoE. edit: Eternal, rage/focus isn't really a bad tree, the only reason nobody uses it is because it's completely outclassed by rage/focus guardians.
  13. Not very reliably, as a watchman sent I've got no idea what % of my damage cauterize is doing. Actually there is a lot of debate over on the mara forums as to whether or not combat is better than watchman at high gear levels. Having a meter would let us know. Yeah, pretty much. The PTR is a joke, I can almost guarantee that they don't collect nearly as much data as WoW collects before making decisions. In an 8 man operation it's incredibly difficult to tell exactly how much damage you alone are doing. I'm going through the rotation I THINK I should be using, the bosses are dieing, but basically I've got no idea If I'm being carried or what the deal is. I could be doing amazingly or I could be doing crappy, I don't really have a reliable way of telling. Again, how would I know if it ends up giving me any more damage? Maybe the boss dies 10% quicker, and that makes me think I'm doing 10% more damage, but I could be doing 5% less damage and my buddy just got a new saber that's making him do 15% more.
  14. Actually on my server, dps are in the highest demand at 50. Especially jedi knights. People are constantly spamming in trade for a JK dps. Once we get dual spec especially, I doubt dps will be in any short supply.
  15. Actually, there was a thread earlier today with a whole lot of 2v2 open world matches on it, and 2v2 actually seemed very balanced. 3v3 on the other hand wasn't very good, the matches ended too quickly. I think arena would be far better as a 2v2 than as a 4v4.
  16. If you get 2 or more healers healing eachother the number of dps they've got becomes almost irrelevant. Rated warzones aren't going to run with 1 healer, My premade is debating bringing 3 or 4. 4 people *************** one solo healer that refuses to abuse LoS and gets no peels from his teammates is irrelevant, a decent healer that gets any sort of team support, either from other dps or other healers, becomes practically invincible.

  19. I this is more of an issue that the warzones here just aren't designed around healers being as good as they are. Voidstar with 2-3 decent healers on each team is going to be a stalemate almost every time regardless of how good the dps are. Aldaraan with a healer on the side turret makes it virtually un-cappable. Even after they nerf the speeders if you've got 2 healers on a side turret it'll still be virtually uncappable. Tanks also have a role in this, but I think the real problem is that most healers can't really go oom, or if they do run out of their resource it regens quickly enough that they can start back up healing within 5 seconds.

  22. Stop linking to that video, it isn't a guide, and it doesn't give any useful tips on how to play the class better. Not to mention, even though the video is very entertaining because of the commentary there are much better sentinel pvp videos out there. not to mention the OP hasn't posted in over 2 months.
