  1. Necro thread is necro. Really close to release, just like when the OP posted this thread, almost everyone on a marauder was doing really really crappy. This is a combo of them A. Being really terribly geared, and a low level, B. Not knowing which talent tree to use, and C. Not knowing the proper annih/watchman rotation. - If you read in the OP was lvl 28 when he posted, and assuming he went combat (which most people were at release) that's probably the most gimped spec at that level in the game. The class is fine now, this thread need not be bumped.
  2. Before you start talking calling people terrible, I'd like to see you link to a character with a highest 3 man rating of over 3000... The trolls on here are getting a bit ridiculous, calling a 3002 highest rating "run of the mill" is absolutely absurd.
  3. If you're a causal player and not going for incredibly high ranks like the op then class balance doesn't even matter, every single class could get at least 2200 in wow regardless of how imbalanced the season was.

  5. Um, did you miss the part where both of them had <20% hp? sorc/jugg did way better than op/jugg. If this video shows you anything it's just that arsenal mercs aren't very good in 2v2s, or at least that one wasn't.

    I don't really play a tank, but IIRC it soaks up white damage, right? If so, then it helps a whole lot vs snipers & marauders
  7. Err, people saying that they weren't rank one glads, the op has videos on his youtube channel beating extremely high rated teams, even if they didn't play perfectly that game I think it's pretty safe to assume that the op isn't lying about his rank.
  8. Looks like they were having fun, and it was entertaining enough even if they did make a couple of mistakes. Makes me want arena in this game even more.
  9. I guess you'd like to know that in 1.1.5 you won't be forced into Ilum anymore, you can get the kills towards your weekly in wzs.

  11. For one, I didn't link that, Two I completely understand what you're doing. You're just playing semantics at this point. A bug that's been in the game since release that helped sorcerer healing is being removed so that sorcerer healing won't be as high. Effectively it's the EXACT SAME THING as a nerf.
  12. Not really, tanks in this game are much easier to kill than a guarded healer. - Especially considering the healer had LoS edit: Neither team had a tank... The jugg was focus. And if you're referencing why they focused the merc it's because without consistent interrupts mercenaries do insane damage.
  13. So the class was doing too much healing, and they're changing it so that it does less healing... but this isn't a nerf? Sounds an awful lot like a nerf to me.
  14. Pyrotech powertechs, tank assassins, and tank powertechs are all just about as good in 1v1s as marauders/sentinels are, I don't think any of them should be touched. Sorcerers are overpowered because their array of crowd control, low ramp-up time on dps, AoE damage, and other team support utility makes them more useful in an 8v8 than any other class. I should know, I play one at 50.
  15. Skarl, as everyone has said 10,000 times, pvp isn't balanced around 1v1. We've got extremely potent cooldowns with long cds - of course we're going **** face in duels. That has absolutely nothing to do with how well we do in extremely cc/root heavy warzones.
  16. This is all wrong. In a proper hybrid spec we've got one of the only ranged stuns in the game a knockback on a 20 second cooldown with a 5 second root on a 20 second cooldown tied to it. a 8 second ranged mezz that DOES NOT heal people during it, with a 2 second stun tied to it if it breaks. a 3 second mezz on a 18 second cd that is tied to a bubble breaking, or on demand if you click your bubble off- this mezz is also applied to anyone you bubble, meaning its cool-down is potentially shorter than the mezz itself. We've also got a ranged slow (One of 2? ranged slows in the game) With a 12 second cd and 6 second duration, and a slow attached to force lightning. Hybrid sorcs without a doubt have by far the most crowd control in the entire game.
  17. This game is extremely CC centric, and rated warzones will be even more cc centric once you've got teams coordinating CC. Marauders have the worst crowd control in the game, and our two main defensive cooldowns that everyone complains about, Guarded by the force and rebuke, will both fall off during a 6 second mezz. Marauders and sentinels are going to make an impact in rated warzones because they've got good damage, a 6 second interrupt, and the only healing debuff - not because of their defensive cooldowns.

  19. There isn't a single class in the game that spends 8 seconds doing nothing but applying dots.
  20. I know you get them for killing ball carriers, and I think you might also get them for either passing / receiving passes or killing people as a ball carrier. - The last 2 are just guesses though.
  21. Go hybrid 20/21 and I can almost guarantee that you won't be dieing faster than most classes anymore.
  22. I give it to the person I thought was the best player...? If a healer gets 400k heals and keeps the entire team alive so that their team never caps in voidstar, I'll give it to him, If a dps is mowing through the entire enemy team, letting other people cap in voidstar I'll give it to him, and If a shadow sneaks by the enemy team and caps a door while they're not looking, leading to a victory I'll give it to him.
  23. ... I'm not saying marauders/sentinels are bad or anything, but really? Level 15? If you think that you can really judge the class at all on how it performs at 15 you're not really that bright... Do you even have cauterize or overload saber yet? Did you just spam slash the entire fight? Not to mention, with the bolster system you're hitting harder with slash at 15 than you will be at 50.
  24. Well, my problem with this is that for some reason people on here seem to think that the only player on the team that matters is the one with the most objective pts. To be honest, I think this is rarely the case. IMO the most important player in aldaraan is usually the one that runs at a node alone, suiciding on it over and over again to keep 3 enemy players on that node stuck there while your team holds the other 2. If you can keep 2 enemy players occupied for an entire game, and off of their objectives, you're just as useful as if you had gotten what their combined objective score would've been.
  25. Classes w/o long duration, instant cast/spammable AoE dots were far, far worse at defending nodes & doors than classes with these dots. Yes, some classes with cleanses could work around this... Ironically most of those classes are the same classes with these spammable dots.
