  1. Sensible post Personally, I like both, but for different reasons. The child in me likes the new trilogy because of the CGI lightsaber fights, but as far as a film goes, I think TPM is fairly poor, they get progressively better, but still not great. I was fairly disappointed that you did not really see Anakin develop much. He just kinda turns up in the second movie proclaiming to be awesome. There doesn't seem to be any real direction in the films, to me they remind me of when a pop star or actor is running out of money so try to do a 'come back' and it just doesn't feel the same.
  2. Bantha would be fun, or a Tauntaun for Hoth
  3. One? No. 4 at 50 and 2 in the 40s
  4. Personally, I don't care what WoW had at launch, or what any other MMO had at launch. This is 2012 and the fact that a game is of the MMO genre isn't an excuse for an unfinished game any more. Thanks to WoW, the industry has changed, MMOs are now played by a range of players, the majority casual gamers. The type of person that plays now wants a finished game, they expect to goto a shop, buy a product and use it. Not to wait x months for the product to be finished. That being said I do enjoy this game, a lot, but I'm not going to make excuses for the flaws it has. The end game content isn't awful, but 2 Operations and 3 Warzones isn't enough. As much as I love the game, the enjoyment I'm having right now wont last much longer, so unless March brings something significant I can't say I would stick around waiting for it to happen. Between a Wife, work and kids, I want this to be fun now, not later. If they can't offer me that, I personally, would spend my time doing something else I find enjoyable.
  5. Logitech G5 Will be changing to the Razer Naga soon. The buttons look like they're in an awkward position though (even worse on the wireless one) so will have to test one first.
  6. I think your figure of 90% is made up. Given that Arena, is simply a Warzone without objectives, I think the majority of players in this game would actually enjoy it. My reasoning for this is that in nearly every warzone you get players who ignore the objectives and just go for kills. The problem with WoW arena was how they implemented it. They made it mandatory to keep up with the PvP progression, as Gladiator items were so much better than anything else. Additionally, as recently pointed out by a WoW dev, they mistakenly balanced the game around Arena. Many other games have had Arena type PvP and it has worked fine, such as DAoC, UO, Guildwars, all FPS games, etc etc.. When people say 'Arena' they think of WoW, what people are actually asking for here is a way for 2 groups to fight each other with no outside interference. Aka Team Deathmatch...and why not, we already have Capture the Flag and Hold the Objective which are classic FPS game modes alongside TDM. As long as they don't make it mandatory, there is no reason you should be against other people getting it.
  7. Synthweaving gives Rakata bracer & belt. I've also picked up quite a few schematics from the EV and KP Ops that allow me to craft some nice purple items, both BOP and BOE (these are selling for 150-200k for me).
  8. You don't. Others do. This is how PvP works, everyone has their own preferences. A lot of players hate Arena, a lot love it. As long as the game isn't balanced around it, and it's not mandatory (i.e how Gladiator gear was SO much better than Honour gear) then it's fine, if you don't like it you don't have to do it. World PvP is another personal preference, many love it. I personally prefer it to Arena (I'm not a fan of Arena but feel people should have the option if they so wish). I hate Warzones and instanced PvP because I like the random variables that are found in World PvP, such as more enemies than we anticipated, or terrain differences that can affect a fight.
  9. I find PvP healing in this game almost perfect tbh. A healer is vital, yet not the sole factor of a group doing well.
  10. I think it's in a fairly good position tbh But, I do think we need more competative PvP (Rated WZ, Arena) Real Open world PvP which is roaming Group V Group based (with credit only going to the group that killed, rather than the 3 operations camping Rep gates getting equal valour/credit). Open world Objectives to take, that give faction bonuses (faster crafting, access to quests etc). These could be in the form of bases spread around a planet, or planets themselves (see Planetside) for galaxy domination
  11. I should have reworded my initial post tbh. While I do agree with you to an extent, I think the people that chose the anti establishment side (Empire, Horde, Vanu in Planetside, Midgard in DAoC etc), tend to be the younger people rather than PvPers, which accounts for a large number of gamers nowadays (especially with Starwars IP). While the avid PvPers who have been doing this since UO/Everquest/AC are all in our late 20s/30s now, so 'coolness' isn't something we really take into consideration any more. I think there is a clear numbers disparity on some servers, but I put this down to age (especially due to the more recent Starwars films appealing to kids, Starwars is cool again) rather than PvP ability. I feel PvP ability is split fairly even at the moment, though I suppose this will really become apparent when they introduce rated Warzones. Personally, PvP is all I've ever done in online games (since UO), and I went with Republic initially. My guild chose Empire so I moved there. Now we play both pretty equally.
  12. As long as there is a choice of Warzone I don't see it a terrible change. But they do need to understand this will turn leavers into AFKers, which most of the time is worse. There should be no rewards for no contribution.
  13. Pretty easily on Legions of Lettow. Despite a population imbalance, Ilum is usually fairly equal. Although, it did take Republic a long time to get the confidence to leave their base. Often we would sit inside despite having higher numbers. Now when Empire try camp, they're generally pushed back and forth to their speeder. It's a lot of fun when it works. The only problem is people only really stick around for their 30 kills then leave. It would be much better if PvP was more enjoyable for everyone, rather than a means to get gear.
  14. I think it's more dependant on the situation. For example, you can have a single Marauder on a healer (6s interupt) while the rest of your DPS drops their DPS. By focusing on their DPS, it allows your ranged to kite better. I think the game of Chase the Healer died out years ago when it was decided healers should have numerous escape tools. See DAoC 8v8 in general or WoW Druids for example.
  15. Any revamp of the current system is good news. Hopefully they will reward teamplay and objectives rather than DPS, and I hope contribution will be factored into rewards to prevent AFKing. I'm guessing they will remove bags, and Warzones played to the end will award a number of commendations.
  16. This is my point. People always look for faction or class imbalances, before they consider the possibility that it may just be bad luck, or that they alone might be the main factor in their success.
  17. ^^^ This will probably hurt the people that accidently leave, I was 2/3 for daily and 8/9 for my weekly yesterday, and was booted out while winning Alderaan 590 - 50 'ish, didn't have time to play more so was mad. I would like it if reconnect within (x) seconds allows you back into the game. After the change people that would leave will simply afk, or play, but with no effort while they play Xbox to get easy commendations. There needs to be some invisible contribution factored in.
  18. Nothing missed. He is assuming there is a skill discrepancy based on skill and the mind frames of certain types of player. He says it's an observation rather than a complaint, I don't think this is the case. You will probably find for every player that thinks they're on a losing imbalanced faction when they lose the majority of WZ, that there is another player on their faction that is having the opposite experience. Granted my 50 experience is from one server it's quite apparent it's RNG and nothing else. The PvP type wants good fights, not easy fights, as such it's often best to avoid imbalance issues. All of the PvP guilds I know (Freddyshouse EU forums, 10-15 active PvP guilds from DAoC) were fairly evenly split between faction. Sith being 'evil' has very little to do with what a PvPer wants.
  19. It definately cannot go above your level until level 50. See the horde of "Why isn't my valor increasing?!" posts.
  20. So what you're saying is: Players that are better at PvP, and play more PvP to get more PvP gear (in a game that's based around PvP gear....do better in PvP? There should never be an automatic right to winning. If you want to win more, learn your character and get better at it, get some friends together and learn to play as a team, then queue together. That's all your Empire counterparts are doing. On my server we win more as Republic than as Empire. The 'losing side' is server specific. Without rated warzones, it's just RNG based luck on who has the premade. That being said, I think the PvP quest system should be changed to matches played rather than won. 6/day 40/week or something. But should also only grant credit for a minimum level of contribution (which would be invisible to the player) to ensure everyone actually plays rather than the afk fest we currently have.
  21. Just ignore them. On my server we don't see it much, but when we do it's usually the guy with 10k hp, or the stealther sat in the corner afk that is moaning. If it gets bad put them on /ignore or report them
  22. I only skim read this as a guildmate worked this out on a private forum just after release, but after looking into it , OP seems to have accounted for the damage reduction the BM would receive, but not the increased damage (from other people's expertise) that the PvE gear'd would receive. It also doesn't take into consideration healing and multiple attackers for the damage reduction. Once multiple people are hitting you, expertise > higher hp and the healing bonus makes BM better.
  23. The OP is probably one of those that think the entire Empire got Battlemaster from farming Ilum over the two days it was bugged. My guild has around 10-12 Battlemasters now and none of us have farmed Ilum, other than going for the daily each time. -OP play more and get BM, it's not hard, and you will see it doesn't make much difference from full champion either.

    WZ Exp Nerf?

I think one of the earlier patches last month reduced the XP/Valor you receive for losing. I've not seen anything recently, or noticed any difference tbh
  25. I like this idea. Sick of people that can't tell the difference between left and right, grass and snow, east and west.
