  1. Agree^^ Especially since PvP isn't a requirement to obtain PvP gear in this game.
  2. Do you leave the group before the boss dies, or before the corpse is looted?
  3. Can't sum it up any better than this tbh ^^ Awesome game right now, but each week I feel less and less motivation to log in. It feels like a stop gap for me between DAoC and GW2.
  4. No. Most premades want competative fights, not easy faceroll gear grinds. Sure, there are the odd failgroups that only want to play with an advantage, but the majority enjoy good fights. The fact that there was no competitive PvP on release has been a major factor for a lot of guilds, and have probably moved on (gone back to their old games) already because of this.

    Ilum dies with 1.2

I'm a huge fan of GW1 (and daoc ofc), and feel I will probably like GW2 because of this. I didn't think it would appeal to the masses, but after seeing the video just released I was: Looks very impressive. @OP - Ilum has been dead since release.
  6. ^^ I think OP is mad at quitters I quit quite a few matches, sometimes for no reason other than I wanted to play, but when it actually comes down to it I realise I don't have the motivation. The debuff won't stop this, I usually go do something else anyway. But I do think those that quit because they don't think they will win, will probably just afk (or play passively) to leech valour/commendations.
  7. It depends on what mechanics they attach to the function, I really hope it will not just be x votes = kick. I've already heard a lot of people saying they will (as a premade group) vote to kick anyone with poor hp/gear.
  8. Some good info, but seems to be a few mistakes, such as MVP gives +5 commendations, and the top bit refers to Columni and Rakata rather than Champion and Battlemaster. Could be very good for a sticky thread if the small errors are cleaned up.
  9. Don't have a solution, but to help people that might: Was it normal or HM? Is there any information on your lockout tab? Are any of your original group that did it with you a few weeks ago, having the same problem?
  10. I think this sums up a lot about what this game is missing tbh... The game in general so far seems to be geared towards casual players, which is a good thing. But, there isn't really anything for the hardcore, whether they're raiders or PvPers.
  11. Only reasonable answers so far is RNG or both teams lose. This hasn't happened to be much, but the times it has, I have lost the round. Can anyone confirm if it's possible to win when this happens?
  12. meh, I'm a healer mainly so don't have much of an opinion in this. But, the value of the heals that you have as DPS spec are not really any worse than as Heal spec, they generally heal for around the same amount, the difference that talents bring is more towards force bending and the speed/efficiency in which you can heal over a period of time. The actual values of the heal are pretty good when DPS specced if you're just using them to top yourself up mid fight - when DPS specced I can generally heal around 6-8k with a stun, though when you're in this situation it's more often to prolong the fight rather than to turn the tide... I've not come across a situation on any of my characters where DPS (myself or someone I'm fighting) having heals has been a major factor in the fight.
  13. This is because Alderaan Civil War is simply a race to goto the left turret, where you can pretty much AFK the whole game while your team does the work. On our server it's getting to the point where 5-6 people each fight are doing it.
  14. There was the 'Finish one Warzone' quest, which is the prereq to the 'Win 3 Warzones' daily quest. I could only do this once on each of my 4 characters, then I could only get the daily/weekly quests.
  15. Merging servers is a solution to server population, NOT faction imbalance. It has the opposite effect on faction balance. i.e. 2 against 1, becomes 4 against 2, same problem, more Imperials to camp your gates. Since there are no overpopulated Republic servers this idea would not work.
  16. tbh they need a new system entirely. Just make all items purchased with x number of Warzone/Merc Commendations. Make Merc Commendations drop in World PvP.
  17. This happened to us a few times on Soa, someone would be moved into a different instance on the bottom floor and couldn't join in the fight, or even move.
  18. 1, maybe 2 with force bending that actually heal for anything significant. An example of someone doing it wrong. Interupting the aoe heal that does 2-300 each tick is pointless. Interupt their big heal that does 5k, then they're forced to use small heals that do next to nothing. If you interupt my AOE heal (that's probably going to do 500 total before the fight moves away from it) I'm going to go crazy with my big heal knowing full well I'm good for another 6-12s from being interupted by you. Interupts are on such a short cooldown in this game that you can pretty much keep one heal totally locked out. Hint: each class only really has one heal that does a significant amount. On my sorc I can stand up to 2-3 idiots forever if they're just smashing 1 button, but 1 good Senti will rip me apart. Likewise on my Marauder with healing debuff and interupt on a 6s c/d, I tear through healers.
  19. Sorcs (especially when standing with lightsaber out) look more like an Undead Mage, than anything from Starwars. Even the way they stand is nearly the same. Both Jedi and Sith wear robes, different styles yes. OP - I think there are more customisation options coming soon, that will allow you to use hoods, not sure about the huge shoulder pads that have been copied from WoW.
  20. Sorry but NPCs, low levels and camping a spaceport isn't PvP. It's effectively portal camping while they trickle through 1 by 1. What you have done, is no different to what Empire are doing at the Republic base in Ilum every evening. Same thing, different location. Good on you for trying, but the problems that exist currently are not really something the playerbase can address, there needs to be something from the creators in terms of real objectives/pvp zones. Not some rediculous afterthought/minigame.
  21. There is a difference between challenging content and bugs/poor graphics. It's like saying a graphics bug makes PvP more skillful. Making the content harder is done by making the actual encounter do thing that make the players react, not by making their visuals difficult/impossible to spot. My guilds raid success rate so far (also not a raid guild) has been based on bugs, rather than how hard the content is
  22. Different issue entirely. Larger raids should be more challenging than smaller ones. They should consider a difference in the 8/16 loot, before they assume that people are not doing them because they can't get the numbers together.
  23. /signed The only reason it's hard to get 16 people together is because there is no point. Give 16 some better loot and people will try. There are lots of groups out there that are looking at 16...but end up splitting into two 8s. Edit: I'm in a PvP guild, and even we are finding the PvE content too easy. I can only imagine it's a faceroll for the people who do PvE as their main focus.
  24. Sensible post ^^ Any Marauder that can't drop a healer is doing it wrong. With a 6s interupt it's not hard to stop the big heal nearly every cast and choke the channeled heal...The main thing about this game is tunnel vision DPS cannot do well by just smashing 1-2 buttons, they actually need to use their tools effectively. I'll happily take the entire healing school being locked out, if they change the 6s cooldown to 60s on the interupt, and only allow 1-2 classes to interupt. But tbh, lets not turn this into wow. @OP - Marauder/Senti has a heal debuff.
