  1. Well, that makes more sense. Still, though....if your box is below the minimum req's I dunno what you can expect Bioware to really do for ya other than what they've done so far.
  2. How old does your computer have to be in order for it to take so long loading that the ~1 min starting timer runs out AND the 60 sec AFK timer runs out? =O
  3. The people who think it's not a positive change are the ones that thought they were extremely skilled when they rez-zerged the opposing team and threw DoT's around.
  4. Why shouldn't the sole defender "learn to work" with his team to defend the node against 3 attackers?
  5. Because every class has a cleanse, right? Besides, how is it fair to assume that the attackers must have a cleanse bot with them to take a node from one defender, but it's not ok to assume that the defender's team should respond to an attack in an appropriate manner?
  6. Uh, yes? Thats the idea, you shouldn't be able to abuse a crappy mechanic to single-handedly deny a team victory at an objective even after killing you multiple times. If you want to defend it, you bring your teammates. If your teammates won't come, then you deserve to lose it. That's how it should work.
  7. There's a reason why no other MMO with similar PvP has allowed DoT's to have this behavior. It's a wonder Bioware let it go on for as long as they have. Good riddance to a bad mechanic.
  8. Really? All the people whining about making PvP easymode? Easymode was being able to throw DoT's around and defend a node against multiple people even when you weren't there. Sorry, but that was just dumb, it wasn't a "tactic" or a "skill" at all.
  9. I've flip-flopped a lot on the Shield Generator thing, and I guess a lot of my feelings on it just come from a general impression of what's "dangerous" to me in PvP. For example, sure the Shield Gen works on a handful of weapon damage attacks from Merc/Commandos, but how many of those are actually dangerous attacks? I've never had a Commando charge at me just spamming Hammer Shot and thought, "Woah, the damage!" It's usually more like, "Grav Round Grav Round, ow ow ow, stop that." So you're reducing a small subset of a class' abilities - often not even the most dangerous ones - by ~24%, ~35% of the time. It's a fraction of a fraction of reduction against a fraction of the opponents' damage. Hell, even if it worked on every attack, that's still only 8-9% damage reduction on average (which would be good) but we know it doesn't work on the majority of damage you're taking. I'd wager you're looking at ~1-2% actual reduction of damage overall in a fight, depending on the classes you're up against. And that's assuming you're keeping Dark Ward up at an (albeit low) cost of Force. So the question becomes, how much damage does a Power Generator give you over a Shield Generator? Off the top of my head, I can't really say. Someone mentioned Powerr using a Shield Gen, well he's said that he actually uses both. I can't say what criteria he uses for picking one or the other, but to just throw out, "Powerr says he uses one!" without meaning or context doesn't mean much.
  10. No, it doesn't. This seems to be the core of your argument, and it's simply not a fact. Besides, feel free to keep having 40% of your globals be used doing nothing.
  11. I'd say biochem. Free health and stat reusables and extra bioanalysis mats sell for a TON of credits. The value of Cybertech varies greatly depending on your leveling speed. Unless you level very slowly or intentionally stop leveling just to get the newest purple level mods and armoring, you'll usually end up out-leveling many of the recipes before you even make them. That and every planet will give you plenty of mods/armoring from commendations and plenty of orange items to put them in.
  12. I wish people would stop using this kind of math to measure how long you can use abilities. For one, if you played this way, you'd be doing such pathetic damage from having tons of dead globals that you'd be a complete joke. You'd have as many as 2-3 dead globals between each FL. Second, if you actually map out the ability usage - complete with dead globals, cooldown conflicts, and the fact that you only need 3 charges of harnessed darkness per FL (Meaning you skip a Shock or Wither here and there) - you could actually go through Shock/Wither/FL cycles for much longer than 20 seconds. And that's assuming zero procs from Lightning Reflexes, no globals spent on anything cheaper (Interrupts, etc) and no globals spent CC'ed or moving, and your target never dies. There's no reason whatsoever to assume that Shock/Wither/FL is going to run you out of force and thus stand back at 10m doing very predictable, easily controlled and mediocre damage to a target.
  13. I can't imagine spending all my time just kiting people around at 4-10 meters for an entire warzone. I'd put out crap damage, be mostly useless to the team, and how exactly am I gonna be getting off FL's while just kiting around? Yeah, if I'm in a tough spot and want to survive longer I'll Shock/Wither kite, but I'm not gonna play it that way ALL the time. That seems silly, and if that's how people think Darkness plays all the time, no wonder it seems boring. And just a straight up DPS exchange against range? That sounds like the exact opposite of how I play, I can't imagine just standing there just derping out a damage rotation. =O You can keep Wither up basically 100% if you want, but it's still just 30%. I don't know if I'd call it the "most crippling in the game".
  14. I'm not entirely sure how Darkness could really be boring compared to Deception, seeing as how Darkness mechanics are a lot more involved and the spec has way more utility. I mean, I know every player is going to feel differently about different specs, I just can't see the "why" of it. =D

    6v8 Warzones :(

They don't start until filled. Problem is, 8 Imps and 8 Pubs are in the queue. Warzone pops. 8 Imps and 6 Pubs take the queue. 2 Pubs are busy with something and the queue expires. Now there's 8 Imp and 6 Pubs in a warzone that's already started. What's it going to do, people have already joined, the instance is already open. It'll try to fill those slots as fast as possible, but since the game didn't know those two pubs weren't going to take their queues, it already assigned people further in the queue to new warzones of their own.
  16. There's also just the fact that any little thing in the way between you and your target will hang them up and effectively cancel the Pull.
  17. How do you propse they fix it? If 8 people queue, the warzone pops, then 3 people don't take the queue...well, the warzone can't just un-pop magically, people have already joined.
  18. Pretty sure no one understands him because he's communicating on a 5-year olds level. 1) No one here can tell you why the cap is what it is. Bioware knows, ask them. 2) No, you can't turn Merc commendations into "higher level" commendations.
  19. Yes, the basic issue of people not being exactly where they appear to be is very common in MMO's. From EQ to SB to WoW and more, people are usually a couple yards away from where they appear on your screen. (AoC is the only game I've seen where appearance and reality were extremely close.) However, the issues in SWTOR are much worse than any one I've played before. It's beyond just some guy being a couple yards away from where he appeared to be, it's a plague of warping, stuttering, teleporting, etc. Especially with Z-axis travel, which Huttball has a lot of, so naturally the issues become much more apparent there.
  20. Yes, completely useless. Definately not a core ability of the Darkness spec. You should skip it and put points elsewhere for sure. 100%.
  21. That's a fair enough answer, actually. I'll agree to that.
  22. Damn you're sensitive. Every little post has you flying off. =D I haven't tried Deception yet, but is it really any more complex or just gimped and thus harder to do well with?
  23. This is the logic I love the most. Everyone sees themself as the "one decent player" among 7 other idiots. But when you queue up and start losing a game, and 6+ people quit the WZ instantly...if you were all the "decent player among scrubs" that each of you thinks you are - thus giving you the sense of entitlement that makes you think you deserve a win - why were you losing to begin with? =D
  24. It gets so bad in Huttball that I don't know if I should be worrying about hacks, or if the engine is just THAT bad. So many times I see people just...teleport. Not just small distances either, very significant distances. There have been times when I Force Pulled someone and on my screen they're standing IN THE FIRE on the lower ramp near the goal line, but 2 seconds later they just disappear and appear on the goal line. No one there to charge to, no sage to pull them, just a freakish warping. That's just one example. It's actually pretty rampant.
  25. So you'll go from not playing the game and actively harming other players to just not playing the game. Most of us see this as a positive, not a threat. =D
