  1. The event was awesome! I was able to have fun on 4 different toons (Direw'olf, Skylaadawn, Laaron and Brayze yup! All me lol) I will say I had more success Pub side than Imp side but that could be because of the fact I don't PvP on my Imp toons as much and my gear is lacking even though I have the 5 piece set. Buuuuttt...it was still fun. I probably got 5 or 6 achievements including the Jawa achievement lol. It was cool and I even got my son in on the fun on my wife's toons. Thanks All!!
  2. You're thinking of Cloak of Pain or Undying Rage. Cloak of pain reduces all damage by 20% for 6 seconds. They still eat a good amount of damage even if it guarantees they will not die right away. Undying Rage is their "god mode" ability that grants 99% damage reduction for 4 seconds at the expense of 50% of their health. While they are both a pain to deal with if you are the one on the end of their lightsaber, most classes can counter them especially Gunslingers/Snipers and Commandos since we are talking non-force user classes. If they pop one of these it's because they know they are losing and at this point are trying to outlast you. KB>Root>run away (kite)>resume attack>CD>execute. It's never as easy as it sounds but Marauders are VERY squishy outside of CDs and easy to kite.
  3. I was able to tank Czerka successfully on my Shadow, Guardian and PT when they first came out. I was sitting around 30k to 34k health around that time. I healed both of them on my Sorc and Sage sitting at around 26k HP starting out and most recently on my Operative which hit 55 a few weeks ago. Not even going to mention my DPS toons. Point is, they are only difficult if you make them difficult. I'll give you an example. An apparent fresh 55 Vanguard sitting at around 30k health decides to tank the desert boss without moving him to the barrels. We died probably 2 times before he got it right AFTER we explained it to him (with me taunting the boss to the barrel on my Shadow). Same thing with the other boss in the simulation zone. We explained the fights and eventually he got it. Will he wipe 2-3 times again? Only if someone in the group does not know the mechanics. These are easy fights with the exception of the droid in the water which can be a pain to heal but it can be done. HM 8 Man ops is different story. They are meant to be challenging and they are but if you work as a team can be done without much issue at all.
  4. I found a fix. 1. Allow for cross-server queues 2. allow people to set their roles before joining based on their specs (If you queue as Healer but only dps and do not put out the required amount of Heals you get a penalty. Same goes for DPS who queue as Tanks and have little to no Protection numbers) I know the 2nd option is probably extreme but the 1st option isn't.
  5. You know, I was wondering the same thing lol. I've had rocket boost for a long time and don't remember paying Cartel Coins for them. Seriously, as far as getting around in FPs/Ops where speeders mostly cannot be used, Rocket Boost is the BEST. THING. EVAR!! On my Sage, Shadow and Sorc, I basically use Rocket Boost and then force speed and then rocket boost again to get around. Especially if you don't have Force Speed (every class except Consulars), a Roll (which only applies to 1 AC both sides) or Hydraulic Overrides which is actually not very fast at all, or Sent/Mara speed boost and wears out way to quick.
  6. Ok, is it just me or is it taking FOREVER for a PvP queue to pop? I completed all of Oricon and Czerka dailies without a single pop for PvP on 3 toons. I had to start leveling my toons on POT5 to get my PvP fix for the day!
  7. I will be there since it looks like PvP is dying on this server. Actually, I would be there regardless.
  8. I don't mind helping but sometimes people respond negatively when you try to give direction. As was pointed out in a post I read earlier, when someone suggested something to someone to help the team the response given back was "Do you pay my sub?" You can't help people with that attitude. I do offer suggestions every now and then or because my main is my Shadow I'll let people know I'm going to guard a specific node and I'll call incoming if I need help. But I can't control the 2 "War Zone Heroes" who want to chase enemy players all over the map lol. And it happens quite a bit. In the end if you PUG you can only hope that you get a good group of people who understand their roles and listen or give good advice or that you get on a pretty good pre-made team.
  9. I was expecting something coherent and funny. I was sadly disappointed in both cases
  10. Never played WoW so I don't know what classes would compare with a Hunter. As far as ranged classes with mobility go, the Republic Commando Trooper or it's opposite on Imp side the Mercenary Bounty Hunter might suit you well. Both are ranged mirror classes that offer great burst or sustained DPS depending on which Tree you take and also offer on the go heals. Commandos get an Assault Cannon which is like walking around with a chain gun. It has awesome DPS but I'm more biased towards the Merc with their dual gun wielding bad assery! So yeah the Mercenary gets two guns but their mobility is about the same which again depends on the Tree you spec into. Speaking of the trees, both have one full healing tree they can specialize in or 2 DPS trees.
  11. I have 3 advanced classes left I haven't completed yet : 1. Juggernaut (currently leveling) 2. Scoundrel (created and leveled to 10) 3. Vanguard (have yet to create but my son keeps bugging me to) If my Jugg is 55 by then then most likely it will be my Scoundrel that I level.
  12. This is what happens when I queue Pub Side I hop on my Tank/DPS toons. No healers I hop on my healers because of a lack of healers and we get 3-4 healers and no tanks Or just no Tanks. I know it's not always going to be an ideal match up but lately that's causing Pubs to loose because we are so gimped. On the other hand, I usually queue with guildies Imp side whereas Pub I almost always queue solo since I prefer Pub side and everyone I run with prefers Imp.
  13. It was actually pretty fun. I was part of the group that finally killed him though I'm not sure how many other groups there were who trying to kill him but I know there was at least 1 Imp group trying. All in all it was fun. Would have been nice if the fun continued after Troyy was killed. No reason to not have an all out brawl lol. Anyway, looking forward to more of these.
  14. Challenge accepted! I really only knew of 2 force users who use a Force Pike. One in the Clone Wars era, I forget the Jedi's name (he's also in the Dark Times comic) and Darth Nihl from the Legacy era with Cade Skywalker. But I would love this weapon for my Shadow. It would fit with the back story I created for him.
  15. I'm just gonna show up to be part of the fun. Can't decide if I want to bring my Shadow or my PT!! Doubt I'll get close enough to see him
  16. With how bad matchmaking has been lately I'd say bring it back for Standard WZs and not RWZs. I was in a 3 Sage healer group with 1 tank in an arena match against 4 DPS. Heals were not an issue...Killing people was. If field respec was available one of us could have specced into a DPS tree and probably would have done better but as it was all we could do was heal each other and try to last the entire length of the match which almost happened in the 2nd match. And of course there was the time I queued as a healer because when I was on my other toons we never had ANY healers in back to back matches. I queue as a healer and for the next few matches we have 4 or 5 healers and no tanks. Again, field respec would have been perfect for this scenario. Same thing with tanking although most tanks can get away with just changing their stance to throw guard on someone. they should make it so you can change your spec at the start of a match once you get an idea of your group make-up but not afterwards. This would help greatly with the matchmaking issues we seem to face.
  17. What server are you on??? I get FP pops on my Tanks almost instantly and that was in low level FPs too. On my Operative healer queues would take MAYBE 10-15 minutes when I was leveling. On Jedi Covenant server finding a PUG for a FP doesn't take long and sometimes when I do dailies on my DPS toons I'll queue and still get queue pops pretty fast.
  18. As an avid PvP'er and sometime space battles enthusiast I am looking forward to this. I think this has been missing for a long time and I love the idea of facing other players in Space Battle. I SINCERELY HOPE that this is not the only thing new we see regarding space battles. We need a complete revamp to the current system. Take it OFF THE RAILS!! I do space battles in this game but just not as much as I would love to. I can't get into the whole on-the-rails space flights we have. When I think of space battles, I think of Battlefront 2 or a flight simulation game like Ace Combat. What we have now does not compare. This new expansion is the right direction but we need a revamp to the current system as well. Regardless, thanks for what you're planning on doing now! I seriously will spend all my time in space pvp!
  19. I have a Sorc and a Sage I love playing in PvP. It's a fun class to play. But as soon as 1 person focuses on me, I'm pretty much done for, let alone a mob of 2 or more. I've gone Lightening (Telekinectics spec) and Madness (Balance spec) and I really like the feel of Madness. I'm able to put up way more damage in Madness but it's harder to master than Lightening. With Lightening, I can stand in the back somewhere and just try to focus people down until someone notices me. Madness, you have to be a little bit closer and Sorcs/Sages already have a *Kill Me I'm Squishy* sticker on our backs. The bubble is nice but in the end we need more to be survivable. As far as tips to survive...stay away from the center of attention as much as possible. If you get caught in it, use your KB and run away. If possible stand close to one of the lone wolfs lol. I find a Sniper who is posted somewhere and stand a few feet from him. Dot as much as possible. I usually cast crushing darkness on my targets and then follow through with my rotation. I try to keep it up as much as possible especially on healers and other DPS. I say other DPS because they are normally the ones who decide to focus you. Take advantage of your class being looked on as a weaker class. In objective based matches (VS, ACW, NC) as soon as someone focuses me I take off. If they suffer from a bad case of tunnel vision, they will follow you to your spawn point if they could. Either way, they are not focused on the objective and this can help your team cap doors or nodes. If they do not tunnel vision you (rarely happens) go right back to DPSing and make em wish they did. In VS I'll stand right in front of the door when defending and cast lightening storm. That saves a lot of time. Either way, make em pay for their stupidity. They should be focusing healers anyway lol. Anyway, you have to make the best of a bad situation. Use the range we were given. It even works against Snipers/Slingers who like to camp far away and take shots at you when you're not paying attention. They may live longer but they can't self cleanse.
  20. it's worked for me so far. My DPS numbers have been higher when I've gone KC than Infil. Only in Arenas. In regular WZs, my DPS in Infil is still much higher. I would say it's because I'm able to survive longer and I'm not being focused. From what I've noticed so far, priority for kills has been Healer > DPS > and then whoever is left standing. As far as DPS is concerned, my Guardian has done extremely well in Combat and Focus spec so when I just want to DPS, I hop on one of them or my Slinger.
