  1. It's worth it and fun. I switch between specs regularly because I hate being stuck in one play style. Right now I've been on a balance kick so for that past few days I've been running FPs and pvp in Balance spec. It's actually my preference for DPS between the two DPS trees. I will note that with Infiltration you will probably win more duels 1v1 because they have awesome burst but some of that is based on the correct positioning. If you go Infiltration Force Breach is your friend! I've hit people for upwards of 6k with a single use of force breach preceded or followed by Shadow Strike for 6k or higher. You get better DPS abilities but the trade off is being squishier than cotton candy in a fat kids hands. So yeah...even though it can be squishy I think Infil is worth it for extra DPS. Keep in mind, you can still taunt the crap out of people and get protection medals and get DPS medals. Win/Win scenario if you ask me.
  2. I HATE having to queue for SM FPs. My wife hates it more than me and curses me out anytime we get put in one (I only select them all for the daily to get the basic comms and since I tank and she doesn't she follows lol) and I can't wait until I have the option to not queue for them. I don't mind running all the content including bonuses and will encourage it for lowbies who need the gear. When I tank, it's an easy run for all involved. When I DPS, it's a different story. Having to show someone how to do something who may not want the advise sucks lol. Oh well...Until they change this you will probably see one of my 55's in SM if it pops even though I hate it.
  3. 1. My Jedi aspirations have been failing me lately. My desire to help in other ways is taking over and Czerka seems to offer the best solution. I seek a new challenege to supplement my current skills. 2. I. - Managed to keep the rift alliance together for the sake of the Republic. II - Took out the usurper Darth Malgus with a tight knit group of Republic Heroes. III - Most recently assisted with the evacuation of Makeb's inhabitants. 3. I went above and beyond the call of duty to help others and ensure that my goals were accomplished. 4. My moral compass has never prevented me from reaching any goals I sought after. 5. Sedate them with a strong sedative while I partake in festivities with my companions.
  4. A few points that I have to make quick since I'm at work. The Bond - My belief would be that the bond she had with Revan was probably the strongest since it lasted 300 years through her death and his force stasis. Stabbed in the back - The book does a good job of making it seem like she and Revan were so preoccupied with Vitiates display of power that neither noticed the quick turning of events that were about to go against them. I do NOT agree with how it played out but it makes it easier to swallow. But, you also look at the Jedi from the Clone Wars era who were betrayed by their own soldiers who were NOT even close to being force users. Yet it happened. Dark side miasma from DK - I find this one hard to believe since she was on Malachor 5 which could be said to have the same effect on force users to the point it drove them mad. I don't buy that it essentially 'weakened' her own force powers because of all the dark side powers on the planet. The Exile was NO weakling and if her bonds in the force with Revan were used to her advantage she would have the same advantage as he did. And he was powerful in that final battle. Soooo many holes in the plot of the book and how they make The Exile out to be. I read it once because of the game and was disgusted with the outcome to say the least. The video games and source content will be how I remember the Exile.
  5. I cannot agree more with the OP. If I queue as a Tank in a FP, then let ME tank the content. If you want to Tank so bad, then do so. I invite you to. Maybe the queue wait time would not be so long for my other DPS who have to wait 10-20 minutes for a queue to pop. It's especially annoying when someone says "I am a Tank" when I point out that they keep pulling mobs before the I get there. If you are a Tank, then lets respec. I have field respec on all of my Tanks and I would gladly let you take over. I don't mind DPS'ing. In fact, I love it and would do it more often. Otherwise, know your role. And it's not like I'm slow either. As long as I'm topped off and don't need to heal, I zerging from mob to mob. And to those who run ahead...if you aggro before me...don't expect me to get it back. He is yours to tank until you die or until you switch targets and I grab aggro again. I had a Guardian do this the other day in Mandalorian Raiders when facing the 3 Elites. I mark targets and say kill targets in order. Guardian decides he wants to kill the boss that me and other tanks I've run with decide to kill last. So I let him and don't say anything. I don't taunt and just continue with my rotation. The droid and the first target are still on me. He finally switches back to the right target and I get aggro again. First target dies, and he does it again. Again, I don't taunt him back to me and he's now running around with the boss chasing him trying to kill him. I'll give it to him tho...when we killed the droid he had the boss really low in health lol. Point is, it is team work and if communication is lacking it causes wipes. Too many people want to blame a healer or a tank when that happens when in reality, some DPS players are just way too impatient.
  6. Yup...people still do it. Loot drops from most bosses in sub-55 FPs are not really worth it. In some HMs it might be but not normally.
  7. Finally hit 50 on my Commando (first one) and decided to try to finish leveling my Sentinel with double XP weekends almost ending. I just had a Warzone XP Boost wear off so I decided to use a FP XP Boost and try to run a few FPs. After running missions on Belsavis for about 20 minutes I get a queue to pop. Maelstrom Prison, one of my favorite FPs. Make is: Shadow Tank, Sage Healer and Guardian DPS. Before the first pull I ask if we are doing bonuses (moar XP right!) Tank says "No!" So whatever. First pull, I see the Tank leading off with FiB. Force-in-freaking-balance folks. That's right, our tank is in Balance spec. So I asked him, are you in Balance spec trying to tank? He says I'll be back in a minute. I'm thinking, oh good, he's gonna respec. 2nd pull, he leads off with FiB AGAIN! I'm like whatever, if healer has no issues with it and can heal him thru it, no problems. Except, it becomes obvious he can't because the tank is super squishy and dies a few times. I end up "tanking" on my Sentinel when the Shadow dies and actually pull a few mobs myself waiting for him to run back to us after re-spawning. After his 4th or 5th death he does the right thing and leaves the group. I ask them to add us to queue and I pull out trusty T7 and we get through the first 2 Bosses of the FP with no issues at all. In fact, I think the healer found it easier to heal T7 than the Shadow. They even commented that he tanked better than the Shadow (I did just gear him for my 1st fight Anyway, right before Kilran, Guardian quits and me and healer with our companions push our way thru the mobs and finally get a DPS and healer a few doors before Kilran. This tank, comes in and does his job. No issues, I'm not longer 'tanking' and the only death was healer who did not realize you have to run up the sides when facing Kilran.
  8. Have you defeated all the champion bosses on Makeb solo? There's a bunch and I'm working on clearing those out as I get me and my comps better geared. I came close on my Shadow a few times. My Slinger needs a few more pieces before I even attempt that. Other than that...you have Elite gear...what about getting all 72's? And then jump into GF and pug your way to glory. I know GF can be a crap shoot but I've cleared tons of content that way and received invites from other guilds to join when they run HM content.
  9. But they were also stranded on an asteroid for an unknown period of time as well trying to repair the Falcon and that's before plotting a course to Bespin. All of this is time Luke has to get to Dagobah and train under Yoda before leaving and heading to Bespin. I've seen various sources specify that this time was at minimum 2 weeks and maximum a month or more. Keep in mind, we also only get what they show us on the screen and what we read in the books with some details left out for time, space, and to move the plot forward quickly.
  10. This is another source that you can read up more about the Sith on. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Sith Other than that, I'd say read the old comics which is how I was introduced to the Sith and early Jedi.
  11. Question is, can you go there now? I tried and couldn't.
  12. I'm glad you mentioned this book because it is one of my favorite SW books and my favorite on Mace Windu.
  13. The same reason I play any video games. For fun, to kill time, for a challenge, rewards, gear, camaraderie, loot...probably a bit of an ego boost as well. Same with PvP in this game as well. PvP offers more of a challenge going against other players but I don't do it strictly for challenge. I do it for fun and probably more of an ego boost.
  14. If you run anything Saturday morning or Sunday look for me on fleet. I'm definitely interested. (Laaron) I'll keep an eye out as well.
  15. I meant the look only. Craftable or as a specific set would be nice.
  16. As someone who either tanks or heals most of the time my biggest respects go out to those classes, but every now and then a really good DPS or 2 DPS players stand out. An example of this is in The False Emperor when you face the Prototype droids. When I first started running this particular FP and fighting this boss (as a tank) it was rare for someone to kill one of the droids before they switched. Even as a level 55 I've had groups who took forever tanking down both bosses. Good DPS at 50 tho could kill him before the first phase. I commend those guys who know what they are doing. Or the DPS who stay on the right target without taking aggro from me which is hard for most to do on my Shadow. But usually, I respect the Tank who knows how to keep aggro in most encounters and Healers who can keep everyone up no matter how hard the encounter.
  17. Perfectly viable in PvP matches. Deception is what most people will play but Madness can do some serious damage too. Ranked teams are more likely to bring a tank spec or Deception spec over Madness but Madness retains it's utility if not the burst known of the AC. All specs are great node guards/takers and awesome at 1v1.
  18. I have to agree. Nadia would have made an awesome healing companion, especially if we got her early on. I love her DPS but if she could heal she would be out every chance I got. Even Gus Tuno as a former Jedi should have been given Willpower stats and Jedi powers to heal. Instead he gets Cunning and a blaster which, aside from heals, he is useless with
  19. I have to agree. I put my balance Shadow up for awhile and stuck with Infil or KC for PvP. Upgraded my PvP gear with full augments the other day and decided to give it a try again. It was the build I had used for the better part of a year after switching servers. I loved it. Force management is still lacking but I was able to put up some good numbers and destroy a few Maras and Sorcs who thought I'd be fun to mess with. They still need to buff it to pre 2.0 awesomeness and you may not get invited to ranked WZs but solo it's a fun spec to play. Even been running it for solo content and farming mats on Makeb (GSI missions)and enjoying it.
  20. I run my Guardian in Focus spec and it's a fun class to play. My favorite remains my Shadow because of their 'utility'. I can guard a node AND hold it while racking up medals or assist with DPS or tanking when the need arises. Great class to utilize in Huttball because of the pulls the class gets in tank spec. I also have a Gunslinger in Sabotage spec which is great for busting down opponents. I'm still learning the class but I love playing at ranged.
  21. I like your suggestion as well which was....wait...no suggestion? Anyway, I'm not suggesting a Gateway, I'm showing what's available for his budget according to what I see. I'll be waiting for your suggestion as well
  22. This is what I do. I have a full PvP set of Partisan mixed with Conqueror. I never go into a PvP match with a full set on. Mix and match PvP gear with PvE gear until you find stats that put you right where you want to be at. I usually keep my set bonuses (all 4 pieces) and my belt, bracers, offhand and sometimes Implants and earpieces are PvE. It depends. I've gone in with over 2000 Expertise and my DPS was low as crap. Go in with a mix and my Expertise somewhere around 1861+ (work with until you find your base damage where u want it) and my DPS shot up. Find that balance with your gear and you'll perform better. I actually like it this way because the grind for PvP gear is not so much of a grind. Right now I'm just waiting until I can get a few more Conqueror pieces and get them augmented and also for Bio to fix the Bolster issue.
  23. Since you don't want to upgrade your current PC and are looking for something within a certain price range, I would suggest looking at a pre-built rig with just enough power to get by. 200 pounds in US dollars (I looked it up) would get you something like this to start off (at least here): Gateway SX2865-UR348 Desktop PC - Intel Pentium G630 2.70GHz, 4GB DDR3, 500GB HDD, DVDRW, Windows 8 64-bit, Keyboard & Mouse, (DT.GDPAA.005) It's Dual Core (which was a requirement when I first started playing on my older laptop in BETA) Graphics are integrated so it's not the most ideal card but it would allow for the game to be played and run on low settings. RAM and HDD space are fine. The one listed above is from a site called Tiger Direct. Not sure what they have over there that would offer the same to fit your needs. Only reason I say buy pre-build with that budget is because a good graphics card to run this game, coupled with a good motherboard, casing, power supply, RAM, HDD are gonna run you upwards of $400 USD. A pre-build may fit your budget needs.
