  1. I used Vette all the way! She is an awesome DPS and I might say the best Soundrel/Ranged DPS type in the game. I would send her in first and then destroy mobs. Jaesa is my next go to companion and she puts in work. Out of all my companions, I made sure to keep Quinn, Vette and Jaesa well equipped.
  2. I think people only point it out like the quoted posters response because of class being played but I can give an example of a Scoundrel on my team in Huttball. Field goes down, we all run up the ramp (me on my Shadow so I can use force speed) Scoundrel gets to the top and scampers and reaches the ball before most of us hit the bottom platform and is at the acid pit on the enemy teams side before someone reaches him and before we are across the acid pit on our side. He didn't score...he passed it to someone who did though because he was getting wailed on. It's not OP as a defensive ability, but it is OP as an ability that allows you to reach objectives faster than most. I have really only seen it used defensively on healers who scamper away, stealth, heal and come back with full health and start the process over again. But I mainly see it used as a way to reach objectives faster and that's a bit unbalanced and OP.
  3. Battlefront 3 is being released within the next 6 months to a year. Star Wars 1313 was shelved during the buy out but may be making an appearance soon. And with the movies expected to come out in a few years, you better believe they will make money from games and merchandise from that as well. I would say a set back, but not over yet.
  4. Based on that, I think you'd make a great tank. I constantly plan pulls, sometimes while I'm running to a group (especially for impatient DPS) and sometimes I take a moment to look at my surroundings to make sure nothing unexpected happens. DPS leaping ahead, itchy fingered Smugglers, and healers who tank is something we have to deal with. But if DPS wants to control the run, I am more than happy to oblige. Let the blame fall on him if we wipe lol. If all goes well, maybe I've learned something new.
  5. Depending on the level, most times it will. Most artifact quality armors can last 5-7 levels. For instance, you find a purple chest piece at level 30. Rewards you get from most quests and even Heroics will only last 1-3 levels and in some cases be useless. Orange items normally only come with Blue mods/armorings/enhancements and will last 1-5 levels. Unless you are buying the armorings/mods/enchancements artifact quality from the GTN then a purple artifact item can be used a long time. And if you out level it completely, gut it and upgrade it with stuff that fits your level.
  6. It takes 30 seconds - 1 minute to respec. It may take another few moments to rearrange your abilities since they move automatically anytime you respec. In ACW it takes 10-15 seconds to get from grass to snow (faster if you have force speed and use the speed boost in the tunnel and faster if you run from mid to one of the other points. It takes 8 seconds to cap a node. if I'm stealth, no matter where you're positioned, chances are I can take that node from you. I take it from people who are standing right next to it. But imagine that happening while someone is respeccing. Or, in the chance they catch me, close their window and don't have all of their abilities available. Nice job! It would most likely be the same for all the maps and since normally only 1 person guards a node (especially stealth classes) you will be SOL trying to respec in the middle of a match unless it's a VS where you have the time to do so. And again, if I pay for field respec (CCs or credits) why deny it in game just because a few people don't like it. it's not OP and it will not guarantee a victory. The same classes that can Heal/DPS can do so from any tree. Healing/DPS output may be less (I've healed in the middle tree for my Sage and Sorc and still put up good numbers) but it's still viable. Same with classes who can DPS/Tank. I regularly DPS on my Shadow from KC tree and often will guard and taunt people while I'm in Infiltration. But again, if I paid for it, why deny it just because others can't adapt?
  7. Problem is they (the devs) will never find a balance. (Duh!) They'll remove it from WZs completely and you'll be left with a completely unbalanced team, as it is in most WZs I run. And again...what difference does it make if someone respecs after a round of VS (again to me the only viable WZ because who wants to be standing around for 30 seconds to a minute just respeccing and possibly causing their team a loss by not actually helping) So you have one extra DPS/Healer to deal with. I've specced as DPS and still spent the match healing my team and DPSing when I could. People who pay (money in some cases) for a field respec should be able to use it whenever they want to. It's NOT OP and can easily be countered.
  8. I have it on my Mara but it's bound. I probably wore it for about 6 months and just kept upgrading it. Nice piece and people would /whisper me on fleet asking what the name of it was and where I got it
  9. Please don't disable field respec in WZ's!!!! While I've never done it the way the OP explains it, I respec on my Sage/Sorc healers all the time. I normally queue for the sole purpose of healing a WZ because usually I'm the only healer. Well I get into the WZ and we've now got like 5 healers. Well I'll take myself out of the equation, respec and just DPS. Flip side of the coin. I queue as a DPS on one of the above mentioned classes and there are no healers. So I use my handy field respec to spec into Heals. Problem solved. I don't do it to take advantage but I see NO problems if someone specs in between rounds. Really the only case this is viable is VS and how often does that pop for most people??? It's usually AH or ACW for me.
  10. Carnage spec Marauders are beastly. Great damage output and CDs. I love Assassins because of utility but I love being able to go into complete beast mode on my Mara and watching high damage numbers fly across the screen. Annihilation is awesome as well but I'm biased towards Carnage even tho I started out with Annihilation and didn't try Carnage until I was a level 50 for a few months. So IMO I would say go Mara Carnage spec for best burst.
  11. Depends on the type of content you run. When I solo content I run Deception and with my DPS comp I can run thru mobs without an issue. Madness spec is annoying with how long it takes to kill Elites/Champions when before it didn't take long at all. PvP Deception is the kill everyone spec. I only have issues with healers who have tanks who peel well and Snipers/Gunslingers. Madness is really good with putting numbers on the board if you want to have big numbers and no kills It's gimped but it can still be used but you'll be smashing your head trying to kill everyone IMO FPs...Deception is still very viable. I ran a few a few days ago and had to watch my aggro because I kept stealing aggro from the tank. With this spec it's the build up to the burst that makes it so viable in addition to Maul procs. Ops is a different story. I only run as a Tank in Ops and rarely see Assassins anymore who are not tanks.
  12. It seems like a bug since her color has changed as well. I've actually noticed this for quite a few of the Togruta NPCs you run into throughout the game but especially Dr Synoda. She has the weird writing (possibly code?) all over and shes a smooth purple color. Edit: I'll see if I can add a screenshot tonight.
  13. Shouldn't research include actual....research? Asking on the forums is cool and all. But the source material seems like it would offer a more definitive answer. And so far no sources have been quoted. I'm sure someone will come along and set me straight soon enough tho
  14. What's funny to me is if I want to put up big numbers in PvP, I spec into Balance. I can top 600k+ damage (mainly from FiB and DoTs) but I can rarely kill people. I can kill people in Infiltration (7k+ Shadow Strikes and 5k-6k FB and projects that hit around the same amount) but my damage overall has gotten lower for some reason. I was never an Infiltration fan, but it definitely works at killing faster. Balance is still a fun spec to play (except when I run out of force in the middle of an all out brawl) but it lacks so much right now to make it viable for PvP or even PvE. I feel like I'm gimping myself and my team when I spec into Balance. I really hope the Devs look into rebuilding this spec to make it more viable all around. I shouldn't be forced into a spec I don't play because they are clueless (which is not something I would say normally but after reading the interview explaining the changes and some of the responses I've read on here, I have to say the Devs are clueless about Shadow Tanks and the changes to Balance Shadows and Sages which I also have.) I just wonder if they want to make Shadows so lackluster that people just start playing other specs which is sad IMO.
  15. I'm the fan I am because of the EU. I was bigger Star Trek fan before this and I had read plenty of the Star Trek books. But to me the EU of Star Wars is way more detailed and extensive (at least IMO). I've read countless books but I'm probably more a fan of the comics than anything else.
  16. Yep, BW needs to bring back the space cowboy hat. I've had a Tionese version on my Slinger for ages now. I just keep upgrading it. I'd also like it if they made one that was adaptable so my Bounty Hunter could wear one. I've wanted the Cad Bane look for him for the longest time. Problem is, the ones I make with Armormech change appearance so the look is not retained. I'd hate to say it but maybe they could sell one in the CM that doesn't change appearance at all. Actually, the whole early Gunslinger (by early I mean Tionese/Columi/Rakata/BM) would be an awesome addition to the CM.
  17. My thoughts are this: If the healer takes less damage standing on the taxi, then I'm all for it. It does not make the fight last longer if done that way. Why? Because all DPS are focused on the Wookie and not the adds. Last run I did the uggs spawned and went straight for the healer even after I AOE taunted (Shadow Tank or Guardian Tank). When the DPS saw the adds for the healer they started attacking them but I quickly told them to get back on the boss and he was down within moments. Healer barely dropped in health and the adds died as soon as the encounter finished. This happened on 2 different runs on my Guardian and my Shadow. So if it helps beat the encounter, I'm all for it. It it does it even quicker I'm even happier.
  18. I use Noxxic as a starting point only. After that it's personal preference or whatever I feel makes sense based on what I want to achieve in PvP or PvE. It does help but a lot of the info is faulty. Or if not faulty, does not fit with everyones play style. One thing to point out though; when people make guides on these forums, people will always call something out or say something is not right with a build/rotation/gearing options. Everyone has a personal preference and a belief of what works best for them (or in some cases what they believe everyone should be using)

Throw some AOE's on that b*tch! Throw some throw some AOE's on that b*tch!
  20. Yeah this is entirely too annoying and will most likely get a reply from me. That or... I'm marking targets for priority and someone changes my priority. Someone did this to me right in the middle of a pull on my Guardian Tank. I saber throw to the target I didn't mark and then jump to him and then proceed to wailing on the target I did mark and asked everyone to burn only to notice my 'mark' is now on the other target I had planned on focusing on afterwards. I asked them NOT to do that again as a warning.
  21. Couldn't you make up for the loss of AIM with the Reflex augments? Normally with augments you would be adding more AIM to what you already have for a nice damage increase but if you get a slight increase from the gear stats from the PvP armorings it may be worth it. Especially since most would recommend the Reflex augments over the Overkill augments now. Just wondering. I plan on using my PT more (been focusing on my healers and my tanks) and need to get him geared.
  22. 12 on Jedi Covenant (8 are level 55) 7 on Shadowlands which is the server I started the game on (2 level 50's) 2 on POT5 both level 10 I believe Thinking about re-rolling on POT5 for pvp purposes. As far as how many I'd like to have. Well, I'd like to have one of each AC but I get bored leveling the same content over and over.
  23. That sucks, I've gotten at least 2. I use it on my Sage since it's a +41 Power crystal. Not my favorite color tho...
  24. I was not expressing my full discontent with the mishandling of the Exile apparently. But yeah, that's how I feel.
  25. I know guilds/people who read and study the guides and still cannot beat boss encounters. The guides offer assistance to those looking for it and to those who don't have the time to spend wiping on a boss over and over again for an attempt to clear content. One of the guilds I'm in, we have members who go to school, work full time, travel for work, have families and cannot spend hours trying to figure out a bosses mechanics into the wee hours of the night. Most nights, mine and others, playtime ends anywhere from 11pm to 12pm. If we start at 7 and can't clear something by 11...I'm done for the night. So NOT knowing boss encounters is not an option for me. And it hasn't killed the game for me either. I play on 5-6 toons a week at level 55 and more at lower levels so I'll never run out of things to do in this game
