  1. There aren't a lot of unique voices in favor of this game either. Pretty much the same people arguing over and over every day. Anyway, most people playing the game are enjoying the game. Because if they weren't, they wouldn't play. It's also quite likely that most people who try the game don't enjoy it.
  2. There's an extremely low level of theorycrafting going on in these game forums. Variety of reasons for that. But point being, people here primarily post about social issues and technical problems. It doesn't inspire interest in playing the game.
  3. One of many posts on the subject, but good tone and composition.
  4. I found this AC relatively weak against multiple elites+silvers packs and champions. Single elites, not so much. YMMV
  5. I was able to log into this game. WoW was incredibly unstable at release and months afterward. During Vanilla, I loaded into BRS, fell through the world, and died in Uldaman. Also during Vanilla, we had a day where an entire raid fell through the world and died, ending up in a vortex pattern of dead players in Westfall. Plus the flight paths weren't linked at release, and there were a lot of courier quests. That was pretty tedious stuff. But you know what? You could play release WoW on a single processor with < 1g of RAM and onboard graphics. And the alternatives at the time were as bad or worse. So whatever. Comparing this game to that is like comparing WoW to games that ran on floppy drives.
  6. Everyone I talk to in the game tells me I am. Every action I take, no matter how trivial or mundane, is lauded as incredible and unique. So yeah. I killed 3 normal mobs. Or walked a droid around. They tell me I'm a galactic superstar for these things, and I know I earned it.
  7. Minimum Requirements * 800MHz P3 or Athlon 256MB RAM 32MB T&L 3D card (GeForce 2 or better) 4GB hard drive space DirectX 9.0 56k modem
  8. People tend to think their own point of view is the majority. At least the OP is questioning that. Most players don't post. They don't post that they're happy, and they don't post that they're canceling. The majority of players who continue their subscriptions and play are at least moderately pleased with the game. The majority of players who cancel are not pleased. Even if the game shrinks to 2 servers and goes free to play, the majority of players will like the game. Hope that helps. And corrupted blood, though a bug, was more of a living world interaction than this game provides.
  9. Honestly, calling you a troll is compliment given the linked video. Better than the alternative.
  10. That bores me just thinking about it. But in that vein: has anyone visited each planet at least 100 times, and watched the full cinematics on both takeoff and landing every time? That's something a player could do.
  11. I've found people to be generally polite and respectful while questing. Several times I've seen lines formed and adhered to. But usually there isn't anyone else around, so it can't possibly be an issue. This is especially the case after Tatooine. Server and personal experiences obviously will vary.
  12. Mages would have been sitting out with or without an in game version of recount. The funny thing is, without an accessible method of evaluation, a very good mage would have been more likely to have been replaced by a warlock, even if the warlock was somehow unable to keep pressing 1. Because the high level guilds would have shown that warlock > mage at the highest level of play and gear. But the mediocre guilds would not know if this mage > that warlock. They'd assume the warlock was superior dps, and there's no way the mage could show otherwise.
  13. I have no problem with it. Especially in this supersharded game. He wants to pay 3x as much for his particular experience, whatever.
  14. Got those monkeys typin, hopin for some Shakespeare!
  15. It's just a different gaming approach / orientation. If you see your performance isn't at the level necessary for the group to succeed, you'll try to remedy that or bow out. If he sees his performance isn't at the level necessary for the group to succeed, he hopes nobody else finds out.
  16. 5 content hasn't been completed due to the unavailability of metrics.
  17. Bringing strangers together on the internet causes conflict. To resolve this issue, this game should be deleted.
  18. The issue was resolved without cc. Perhaps the issue could have been solved with cc. Or maybe the original healer just wasn't healing effectively. Or maybe the tank took a couple big shots to the face in their one attempt with the first healer, and simply didn't take the same damage the next attempt.
  19. I actually did read the whole thing. Here's what you don't know: How much damage you were taking. How much healing the first healer was doing. How much healing the second healer was doing. If mobs abilities were being interrupted / how often. How much damage the dps were doing. How much damage the dps were taking. How long the fight took. How much cc, if any, was happening. You go back on forth on this one. So basically you have no idea what was happening, other than you (the tank) were dying. The replacement healer came in and you won. But you don't know what changed. I'm not blaming you for not knowing all these things. But the premise of "was it me or the healer" is a bit amusing given the information gaps.
  20. I know you were the tank. But you don't know what happened in the first place, or what changed with the next healer. Which is why you made this thread in the first place. If you knew the answer, you wouldn't be asking the thread topic question.
  21. He beat the fight with a different healer. Did the 36 sentinel wake up and start doing some real damage? Did the 22 tank avoid some of the big hits that were doing him in before? Did the new healer spam heals better? Who knows. The OP sure doesn't.
  22. "We" is everyone. If you're dying as a tank and thinking about blaming the healer, comparing damage taken to potential healing output is kind of a big deal. You could be taking more damage than the healer could theoretically heal. Or the healer might not be specced effectively, or could just be freezing up in combat and not casting. Lots of potential issues.
  23. Well, honestly we don't know what you were doing as a tank, how much damage you were taking, how much healing the healer was doing, or how much damage the dpsers were doing. It's a math problem, but you have no variables defined. Maybe the healer was playing poorly. Maybe the healer was undergeared. Maybe the tank was undergeared for the strategy. Maybe the dps were just being terrible and drawing the fight out. Maybe there were other issues. Lots of possible problems. Bottom line, which isn't particularly helpful: If you're taking more damage than the healer can deal with, then try to take less damage. Meh.
