  1. Or you could try to be constructive instead of only being sarcastic. Maybe you could also try to understand the argument too. That grouping people into similarities helps make the game more fun for everybody (except those people who really enjoy one-sided fights). No, this isn't only about a team exercising more than another. Would you put a kindergarden soccer team against a professional one? Who cares if the kindergardeners are just starting out and haven't had the time to catch up with the professional team! They'll obviously learn how to beat the other team eventually, and they won't get discouraged at all! /sarcasm
  2. That's great! Because I was just laughing at the hilarity that was being given a warning for treating people exactly the same way they were treating me. Thanks for cleaning it all up!
  3. Interesting, so what I've realized tonight is that SWTOR is an amalgamation of all the scum that made the World of Warcraft community insufferable, all the problems that used to plague World of Warcraft, none of its polish with a dash of nothing to do at end game. I think if I hadn't gotten this game as a gift, I would be pretty angry right now. Hopefully the new patch will change my mind about this game, and hopefully they patch the PvP system eventually so it's as fun as I had hoped it would be.
  4. Nope, you just failed to recognize what I was saying. I'm not talking about PvE levels here, I was only using that as an analogy. This is quite a lesson for me though -- the American school system fails completely at critical reading.
  5. And you assume you know everything about me when you don't. Take your advice to somebody who is actually suffering from ignorance in the game.
  6. Valor directly relates to the gear you have access to. However, you're also correct that it's not a perfect system. A better system would keep track of your PvP activities and rank you based on outcome the way Arena works in WoW.
  7. By all means, the next time you PvP, take off all of your gear and see just how good your are. Or buy yourself a bunch of level 35-45 greens and see how good you are. If you think gear means very little, you're sorely mistaken.
  8. There's no possible way that my post is a criticism about every other MMO I've played with PvP aspect to it. Nope. Otherwise I would have titled this thread something like "Why PvP is never fun in MMO's" instead of "PvP isn't fun in SWTOR" Oh wait, the former WAS the title I used. I've hardly PvP'd, only a few games so far, and I'm finding the same blaring mistakes that any other game has had. There's a complete imbalance in classes, too many stuns, roots and knock backs and as a corruption sorc, I can pretty much heal and shield myself long enough that the other player either get bored, or get killed by my teammates. Bioware made the same mistakes that so many other MMOs out there made, most of which could be solved by simply treating a PvP system like you would a PvE system and separating levels (or in this case, valor ranks).
  9. Do you really not see the correlation between valor level and gear?
  10. I think that's about right. Earning gear from PvP'ing was the starting point for the path that lead us here today. To systems where you have to grind to even have a chance at survival a match. It's a really lazy way of doing it, and I don't really see why gaming companies keep falling into the same hole every MMO that comes out. The formula shouldn't be to grind out gear and win against those who don't. The formula should be based on skill, hence why similarly geared people should be grouped together. I think this is why Arena in WoW works so well.
  11. Aww, that's so cute. You know I have a point, but so you try to change the subject.
  12. Oh, because I'm sure you're 100% happy with everything in this game.
  13. Agreed completely. The possibility of wining is always more fun than the inevitability of losing. Of course, you always run into those ******s who think they have skill, when they really just have gear.
  14. Thank you, somebody who actually gets it!
