  1. Many players are worse than companions.
  2. Most. They're tuned for 2 players + 2 companions, but if there's no guild on the planet, they just get dumped.
  3. The first time I received a ship, the run to go find it was fun. Didn't have a speeder and there was anticipation for a prize. But now the spaceport run is just a waste of playing time. Same is generally true for the orbital stations - the first time, there's a quest involved and a brief discussion of something related to the planet. It's not bad because there's something new, and something to interact with. Unless there's an activity/quest involved with the spaceport/station, and sometimes there are, these areas should be skip-able.
  4. Played voidstar as a healer last night. Queued with a tank. We opened every door and computer on offense and defended a door on defense. Didn't die. Won easily. Ended up with the two lowest "objective score" totals on the team. If I solo as dps and ignore objectives, I nearly always get the highest "objective score". The more I play to win the game, the worse my "objective score" gets. I think something is borked.
  5. It breaks immersion. It's like periodically needing to take a crap in game. Maybe it's something you might have to do, realistically, but it's not playing the game. And in this case, jogging through empty spaceports by yourself is not in any way "realistic" to the SW world or experience. It's jarringly out of place. Good question. We never actually fly them. Space travel itself is completely abstract. If the movies contained a similar level of space travel, where nothing ever actually happened, the space travel element would have been edited out. Yeah totally. And you won't be happy until you spend a full day walking before being able to interact with anyone else in the game. Love the extreme straw man bs.
  6. It might possibly confuse someone who is click targeting...
  7. I don't remember a scene where a Star Wars character jogged alone through an empty spaceport. Maybe the movies needed more immersion.
  8. That's fascinating. Did you know that China was unaware of horses until the 17th century? And most Chinese still don't know what a horse is.
  9. Running through empty spaceports isn't role playing. It barely qualifies as playing.
  10. Discipline may be the "right" choice, but not always the "light" choice.
  11. OP is asking people to take responsibility for other people's decisions.
  12. Control-Z when you don't need the UI going?
  13. Normal content is ridiculously easy. +2 heroics are still too easy for 2 players with 2 pets. So basically you end up probably needing to group if you care about doing a +4 heroic. Otherwise it's the faceroll of facerolls, with the added bonus of sharding problems. Also, since planets have narrow level bands, people you know probably aren't going to be there. Since travel is kind of annoying, they probably won't want to spend more time traveling than doing the quest. Shrugs.
  14. I've never seen the 10 minute timer. But 1.5 minutes to 3 minutes makes a lot more sense than 10 minutes. Might as well just kick people back to the res station rather than putting a 10-minute timer in.
  15. Good effort on this post. Ideas supported by screenshots. I don't care for all the ideas personally, but it's a good post so rating up.
  16. Little over 4 days /played at level 40 is not terribly slow, especially the first time through. Putting days into other characters will obviously slow you down. Not sure the point of this thread.
  17. Agree with the OP. I have chosen not to help guildmates on occasion due to travel time. Little things like fast travel to ship (which makes a whole lot of sense since a ship is apparently picking you up when you fast travel anyway) would help.
  18. PvP is a lot murkier. The numbers aren't terribly meaningful. Plus they may consider pve folks to be more fragile as a group. And/or they know what parsers would show, and they don't want that to be a discussion point right now.
  19. Would be nice. Especially for the classes with more cds.
  20. Testers raised pretty much everything people are complaining about. But it's quite possible the devs were listening and simply unable to fix the issues.
  21. While playing an instrument is not a bad thing, my interpretation is he wants to engage in the game - i.e. use his abilities, experience new content, etc - rather than walk through empty and unchanging spaceports. I find it odd that several people in this thread consider static and non-interactive content to be worth logging in to a game for. Different strokes for different folks I suppose.
  22. The other 95% simply aren't posting on forums. They may be having a blast in game, doing something other than playing, or letting their subscriptions expire due to lack of interest.
  23. Take a little time and research building your own. Once you get some basic knowledge, you'll be able to differentiate between good and bad deals from retail, and make an informed decision. My take on the retail options mentioned is they provide old and underpowered computers for heavy markups.
