  1. Just left. Hadn't played in months and forgot my sub was still active. That's how much I disliked the game. It was so bad, I forgot I was paying for a sub. Was an eq1/eq2 vet, played em all, blah blah blah. Point is, this game just isn't fun, engaging, and challenging enough to merit $15 dollars a month. The graphics, the combat delay issues, poor instancing, repetitive dialogue and quests, lack of population, drone-like customer service, bugs, and generally sterile environments all contributed to my unsub. I still hope that the game does well, but in my mind it will exists as another tremendous IP squandered by patently stupid c-level decisions, poor art style, bad mechanics, and everyone trying to re-write the MMO in a near SWG-level botch. It's probably the best (and most polished) worst game out there.
  2. It's not just nostalgia. I played Fippy Darkpaw, the timelocked progression server, a little while back. It was still really fun. My best gaming memories are from playing NES/SNES/Genesis/N64 games with my friends growing up, and from the EverQuest and EverQuest 2 franchise. If the game was more widespread in terms of population, had some small tweaks, and had modern graphical updates, I would play it immediately. I keep trying out tons of MMO's looking for the qualities that EQ/EQ2 had, only to be disappointed. I have some hope for ArchAge, but not much. We'll see. Maybe EQ:Next will bring back the fun. Doubtful.
  3. I respect U BRO!!! No, I'm not mad at all, I just want to get rid of that title. I hate it. I regret even clicking the mailbox and the medal. Full disclosure, I right clicked the medal in an attempt to sell it (I had no idea what it was as I didn't read the message) amidst a sea of items. Next thing you know, I've got a title. Someone please take this away from me. It's horrible.
  4. Get rid of that shameless "Suggestion Box" you burnt out mods use to send threads to die in. Just have the integrity to at least give a bot message and close the thread, instead of moving it to the southern retirement home of thread topics. It's insulting to even see it, as none from your company read it with any respect. It's disgusting. You, and all of your ilk, patronize players ad nauseum. Also, as I've stated in previous comments, please remove my founder title from my character. It's a title for poors and I don't want to be associated with participating in this cash grab. Please let me know when you remove it via mail. I eagerly await the one billionth forum warning and infraction in my mail box from one of your community college interns esteemed colleagues. Thanks in advance, --EW
  5. I think you're making the mistake of equating one's actions in a video game as indicative of one's actions in real life. They're not relative.
  6. None care about your ignore list or how you police your video game. Common sense is subjective. One rolls need on items they will use? Use in what way? Does that define companion use? Sale use? Greed for which else? What definitions does greed imply? Ugh, your post is so confusing.
  7. Found the medal/title in my mailbox. BioWare/whichever burnt out mod reads my post...just go in game a remove the title from my option box. It's gay as hell and I think it's a disgusting cash grab. It's in poor taste, and to be honest, I don't even want to have my sense of class sullied with this move indicative of the gaming equivalent of striving poors. Be so kind as to send me a mail when this is done. It's the least you can do. Regards, --EW
  8. Dear iheartnyc, Please read pages 49-** of the thread. Think well on the responses made. Revise thought. Profit??
  9. I fixed the errors you made while trying to correct someone else. The white text is what you should keep and slightly revise.
  10. Honestly, what did you expect? I actually feel sorry for the people who purchased the "collectors edition" game. One of the biggest cash grabs I've ever seen in the gaming community. I really mean that. Perhaps they'll improve things for members in the future?
  11. A valid, and well articulated post sir. I think the load of this thread rests on the fulcrum that is this point here, "from an unwritten, but known "rule"". That is very subjective. The point of my argument, is that what one understands or interprets as a rule, another person may not. Regardless of how I feel about it, because that's not relevant, there will always be contention with that point. What I'm not understanding is the real life to video game comparisons. I find they're really off, especially the personal insults in relation to one's video game behavior. Additionally, I find that criticizing ones actions from a standpoint of self righteousness is in poor taste. When one is, then, using one's video game actions to criticize another, it's even more bemusing. The outrageous thing, to me, is when one then uses a video game as a metric to associate one's behavior in said game, to directly correlate to one's out of game behavior. Again, all done from a subjective judgment. I'm not trying to get personal or insulting here. Just trying to understand why people simply can't understand these basic actions as rational human behavior. It is not at all surprising that one would "ninja" an item to me. It may be distasteful, to some, but it certainly doesn't brand that person as one of poor character, especially in real life. To assert one's actions from a video game, as patent fact, to be indicative of one's character out of game is...well, misplaced to say the least.
  12. Lol, what on Earth is this about? I never said how I felt about the subject, I even went to say I felt mildly annoyed about it too. It's unethical, but I have no right to judge others from a standpoint of righteousness. Acting out my self esteem issues in game? What are you talking about bro? Hiding? Fragile egos? I'm a little lost here. Annoying my team? Someone is a lackluster person in real life because he/she rolled need on a digital item? I really am at a loss here. Maybe you can articulate this a bit more for me? I'm not getting the entire game/real life thing here with you and this other dude. I'm also not sure why you think players are griefing or acting in malice when they roll need. An interesting thread, indeed.
  13. "I am utterly shocked at some of the replies I am seeing in this thread. People will say *anything* to prove their point. Morality goes right out the window, as does fear for any actions made in game that could upset other players. You have to ask yourself, would I need on that item, that is not my class, that *is* that other guy's class, if he was a big giant mean looking guy who could Chuck Norris my ninja looting butt?" Those are your words sir. You're shocked? Honestly? You're shocked? What planet are you living on bro? Morality goes out the window? In a video game?? Morality and fear, in game, go out the window? Then you cite a real life example to justify the claim. Again, you're making a real life comparison to ones morals via their actions in the video game. I'm not sure how this is remotely out of context, as it is the very context you introduced your argument upon. Then, you go on to essentially use a real life example of one being intimidated to define why your topic sentence was rational. Which, to be honest, was a poor analogy anyway. Again, I'm not understanding why my criticism is out of place here dude. I'm not ignoring your point, I'm addressing it. It's certainly not out of context, because it's the topic of your response. I'm not trying to derail anything. I'm fascinated by your response because it's quite similar to the OP. So, go back and read my first post, and we can try this again? I mean, if you're going to say something and point fingers at the posters in this thread for their opinions, at least have the courage and integrity to back it up and not dance around what you said.
  14. I'm not sure how or why it is silly, as it is entirely relevant to the very substance of your post? It's the topic you wrote about when responding. If it was that silly to "go there", then why did you write your initial post?
  15. I find your equating real life moral choice and character, in relation to video game behavior and personae, really strange. It's almost as if you can't differentiate choices in real life as being different from those in video games. I mean, I hope all those dudes I beat off a motorcycle with a chain in Road Rash don't hold it against me. Should I notify the next of kin of all the kid's I sniped on Call of Duty the other night?
