  1. It is almost always the case early in MMORPGs that either melee or ranged has it very hard at the beginning. Balancing ranged outgoing versus incoming damage is just very difficult. So, either the ranged classes are too weak and enemies get to them and crush them, or they are too strong and nothing can even get to them before dying. I think BW has done a pretty goods job, but there is still room for tinkering. As for PvE, I would expect less aoe and more ranged/spawned attacks from bosses in the next expansion patch.
  2. The efficacy of stealth as a gap closer is based on the synergy of control and burst. Once we lost a huge portion of our effective burst, stealth became the worst gap closer in the game (for operatives - assassins have more tools than stealth). Stealth now let's us get away better than it gets us there.
  3. Oops, just saw what you said about the naga. You may have a talent issue.
  4. Sorcerers are fun to play. How hard is that to understand? Most of them have alts they also probably enjoy playing.
  5. You make me wish for vote kick on the forums. I get tired of carrying bad players to great gear only to have them grief under geared players later. Good players universally don't pay much attention to anyone but true afkers. This is always true because it's part of the mindset. It's always, 100%of the time, the worst player who complains first. Always. Think about it the next time you squeal about something.
  6. Who is the arbiter of acceptable? No one died and made you king, chief. I suspect I would do more to help win absolutely naked than most of the so-called elitists. Funny thing about "great" players on the forums, they never want to face a challenge of any kind.
  7. Yes, the WZ vote kick will be abused by elitists to kick lesser geared players. Duh.
  8. Mara is more enhance shaman than rogue, if you are looking for a WoW comparison. And, good maras are as rare as good enhance shaman were in WoW. Concealment OPs are like WoW rogues, except that OPs have better ranged options. For the average PvPer, Jugg is a better choice. However, Mara seems better if you know what you are doing.
  9. Seems to me that there are no broken classes in pve, but the play style differences are so great that you really need to find an ac you enjoy before going max level. Seriously, for every complaint about this class or that class there is an equally zealous defense being made. It all boils down to whether you enjoy the class. The game experience is really very, very different depending on what you choose. So, forget about which class is op or broken. Forget about asking advice on what to play. Spend some time riding the class you really enjoy and you will find, I think, that this is a fantastic game. Kirk out.
  10. Meters have nothing to do with this. Meters are used by raiders to compare one set-up against another (because the comparison has meaning even though the raw numbers do not) and by pugs to make stupid decisions. Raiders do not rely on meter; they use combat parses. I cannot tell you how many fail pug raids I have run on alts in which the raid leader was posting dps after a WIPE. DPS meters after a wipe are useless for dps. You know this. Meters are only helpful for interrupts, friendly fire and damage taken. They can be helpful to show damage done after a boss kill, but, even then, they are notoriously unreliable. That's why 3 different raiders will have 3 different sets of damage numbers (remember when recount did not attribute pet damage to the player?). I would like to see a combat log so we can have parses. Meters are for pretenders so I could not care less about them. However, you are fooling yourself if you believe there are more quality raiders than idiots who have no idea how to use meters. Idiots who pop every CD at the wrong time, stay on the wrong target, and then crow how some dot class should be booted because they did less damage than the tank in an aoe pull. Those guys are the majority. Accordingly, meters will force everyone into the same cookie cutter AC and build, which will be a shame because nightmare raids are being done just fine right now with people playing the class they want to.
  11. No meters and no combat logs means no one knows. Anyone who says otherwise is guessing. Seriously. Guessing.
  12. My vanguard in lvl 24 and I tank just fine with a dps spec. Ammo requires management. If you have aggro solidified, no need to use a high threat/ammo ability. Cycle in some shots and your ammo will be fine. It's the strongest republic tank.
  13. Right now against the council, you can see Jugg dps, Mara dpd, op dps, etc all finishing at close to the same time. Everyone is having fun playing the class they chose. Add meters and find out that Mara is 2% more dps than Jugg, and then juggs dpsers that were clearing content get left out. Unnecessary elitism is the only reason for meters. Nightmares are being cleared just fine without them now.
  14. Agreed. The current tab target system makes no sense.
  15. This is wrong. Farming typically happens when a pre made faces a pug. Most premades I know use voice to coordinate and no pugs do. They also usually outgear the pug group being farmed. Those advantages cannot be overcome and result in farming. Farming isn't fun for anyone. It would be great after a certain disparity in kills if a boss appeared to help one team. That boss could drop loot if killed. That would make it very interesting.
  16. Nothing. It happens so rarely that it isn't worth wasting time on.

I almost always vote for a healer. They make or break a battle. I do not play a healer by the way.
  18. BH only levels faster until late 20s early 30s, then not so much. Operatives and Sorcerers are the fastest leveling ACs in the game.
  19. You are talking casted versus instant. You might get bigger single attack numbers from the BH, but you won't get better overall numbers, especially in PVP. OP attacks cannot be interrupted; BH/Sorc attacks can be interrupted and do quite regularly. No one just sits back and lets a BH or Sorc free cast. As for assassins, come on, OP numbers are much higher than assassin numbers, once they each have their stealth opener. OPs just don't get their stealth opener until very late.
  20. I have all three classes of varying degree. I can tell you that Operative is the best of the three in dps pvp, but still lags far behind vanguard/powertech in dps and sorc in healing. Operatives have a steep learning curve, but are the best pvp dps class out there aside from the tank classes.
  21. Forget the damage comments because our damage is ok, not great, not good, but ok. Overall damage in war zones is overrated because of the powerful aoe many other classes have. However, we should be competitive in the kills. That said, the op has great points. Since our burst has been nerfed to where it isn't really burst anymore, we need to be able to stay on our target to be effective. However, we have no means of staying on our target outside of our opening stuns. This is a real issue. When they nerfed our burst they should have given us a gap closer or buffed our ranged damage a bit.
  22. . Chuck Norris doesn't even need stealth to punch Sith to death.
