  1. My level 11 powertech in heavy armor, without most of his skills, does twice the damage as my darkness assassin. Tanks need damage to hold aggro. Nerfing their damage output cripples them in pve.
  2. Play one and you will agree. Over 3 seconds their burst is just ridiculous.
  3. It's hard to get a good answer to these questions, so I will try. Best combo for Sentinel - Guardian is best because it has tank skills in a dps spec that will keep you alive to kill others. It has incredible mobility and wears different armor. At 50, a well played guardian is every bit as formidable as a sentinel and is easier to play. Shadow is second best. This is very close to the guardian. Again, they have tank skills that keep you alive. They are more formidable than sentinels in their own right and when paired together are unstoppable. Lacks some mobility, but makes up for it with stealth. Most shadows pvp in tank spec so he has a pull to compliment your leap. Vanguard would be best, but leveling together may not be as easy. Vanguards are ridiculous. They have the best survivability/dps combination in the game that is not reliant on CDs. Like the shadow, vanguards must be focused to take down and that leaves your friend to wreck people trying to kill you. Any healing class would be next. Usually the MVP of WZs, healing classes are awesome if that's your thing. If you don't know if you would like healing, then you need to try it before deciding. Some people hate it. Sentinel - again you can level together. Two sentinels are hard to deal with and look like great fun. No synergy, but good damage, if played well. Warning - sentinels are extremely difficult to play well. If you and your friend are not very strong pvpers, you will be disappointed with sentinel. Gunslinger - huge burst, but only effective from range. You will be focused at 50 and it can be frustrating because everything has a cast time. Your CCs will be useless to help your buddie because of your need to stay at range. Once someone gets on you, you're dead.
  4. So many of you are crying nerf about classes you may not know. You die to a certain class and believe that class is somehow op. However, it may be a class you have little experience with, so why should anyone listen? Instead, why don't you look at your primary class and make suggestions about how that class can be improved. More armor or mitigation in pvp or a slow or gap closer. Maybe even tweak the damage in some trees. The only time a class should be nerfed is when all other classes and players are suffering the same fate to all players of one class. That is how rare real nerds should be. Nerfs hurt and are no fun. Buffs make you look forward to playing after the new patch comes out. Let's get on with the buffs and stop asking for a ton of nerds. After all, if it's just your class that is having issues that should be the fix.
  5. DAOC and EVE have incredible world pvp. The problem is with imbalance that can occur with only two factions. Accordingly, games with two factions usually have issues with world pvp. Add a third faction, or even an npc faction that can show up and wreck you (thus requiring some class balance in a group) and world pvp gets much better.
  6. I never see Powertechs complaining about their class. Ever. They seem to love it and do extremely well with it. The same cannot be said for Merc. Both are fun, but PT is just better.
  7. I don't know about deception. With Darkness, leveling is easy.
  8. Some people make great marauders, some make great Assassins, PTs, Sorc, OPs, etc. If you like your class, learn it, and gear it, then all of the classes are competitive. Really, good players are OP and should be nerfed.
  9. Not hard to play? If any class is hard to play, Maras are it. Some of these posts are hilarious. Great players won't reroll, whether they play mara, sorc, operative or whatever. They will stick it through, adapt to the changes and wait for future modifications. They will still kill me regularly, whether I am a tankasin, Sorc, Mara or whatever. Skill and gear matter more than the class.
  10. You could have great ranged dps and the satisfaction of not being another sorc if you roll a sniper. They do incredible ranged dps, probably more than a sorc. Both classes, like most ranged, can be boring.
  11. While still left to chance, didn't they significantly increase the possibility of it proccing to go along with the 6 ICD?
  12. Thanks for the responses. I appreciate the advice.
  13. Male: Doubleohseven Female: Gingersnapper
  14. Yes In fact, the progression raider mantra is "Take the player, not the class."
  15. Just looking for a little advice from a PT is all.
  16. Thanks for the advice. I appreciate it.
  17. This makes a lot of sense. I am not sure it was the double RS proc that was the issue as much as it was the ease of heat management. Pyro PTs seemed to have an incediblybdeep resource pool that started full and never stressed them. That is truly unlike any other class in the game (well, except Sorc, which should also see a nerf to force regen).
  18. Is it really a nerf? I have read mixed things.
  19. The execute is an aggro move. Because other classes have an execute, some tank specs also get one to be able to hold threat when a boss gets below a certain hp percentage. Bosses will stay there long enough for execute abilities to close the gap on tank threat very quickly and spamming taunt, especially given how taunt works in Astor, is neither fun nor effective.
  20. Hello sith inquisitors, I am rerolling from another server and have narrowed my choose down to powertech, marauder and assassin. Which ac would you choose for end game pve and pvp and why? I am having a hard time choosing, primarily because I have no idea about these classes at endgame.
  21. Which class would you choose for endgame pve and pvp and why? I am rerolling from another server and will pick one of these ACs to level to 50. Thanks.
