  1. Play what you want until we get logs. Then we will all be cookie cutter.
  2. I was just messing around with the same idea. Sorc has so much available so early in the trees that a tri-spec seems to be the way to go.
  3. I discovered Vanguard late and am now kicking myself over that fact that I could have had him 50 and geared by now (early access player). What a great class.
  4. You sound proud to be hardcore. You should not be proud to be a hardcore video gamer.
  5. I love the original post. It's a true classic! Reminds of the movie Stripes: OP likes fast cars and fast women, that's why the call him the cruiser. I call him the dork (which is another term for hardcore video gamer).
  6. No, no. You are mistaken. You were just in range of a SW Jugg smash.
  7. Give me shadowstep and I will think about it. Wow rogues had sap that would not take them out of stealth and blind that would let them drop aggro and resteatlh. They also had sprint, etc, etc. Different creatures altogether. 1v1 an op should be able to burst any dps class down almost immediately. Tanks and heals are a different matter. In any event, let's wait for class and gear balance in pvp before fixing anything. Last point, someone called "rogues" twitch classes. Twitch is generally irrelevant in mmos with gcd and lag. You want twitch to matter then go play MW.
  8. :DNothing you do should help an under leveled, under geared player survive the burst of a 50 pvp geared op. That would break op. Let's wait until we really know what's going on before we scream buff/nerf. That means level 50 pvp brackets and premades. Right now, force users are absurd in pvp, yet you can see how level balance will change that.
  9. Powertechs are unstoppable killing machines. The most frustrating classes to face in pvp are geared pts and juggs. If you are deciding between assassin and pt, then it's easy: pt is your class. Take a look at all the qq posts. The people who aren't complaining are pts, sorcs and IA op.
  10. You still don't get it do you? When all classes do comparable damage, how about bringing the player? This is why MMOs degenerate into a cycle of buffs and nerfs over time. Nerds with too much time on their hand blaming failure on class balance. Personally, I believe the above guild may lack quality leadership.
  11. Not sure I agree with this. OPs don't have a gap closer because they ca n do mobile dps. It's not ideal dps, but it allows you to regen energy on the run.
  12. I have seen the weather change several times. Haven't seen many critters though.
  13. Some people are using a dps/heals hybrid build and loving it. They can sit there destroying everyone and never die.
  14. You are all over the place with this post. First, progression guilds don't rely on meters or, even, try to evaluate those issues during the raid. We post logs and analyze the logs between lockouts. That's the only way to evaluate performance as a raid or individual performance. You need time and discussion to understand the numbers. This is especially true for healing and dps. We don't even allow members to post meters during raids. Meters do show things like interrupts, but so what? Being hammered by the skill that your guildy was supposed to interrupt also contains the same information. You assign people to perform certain duties and expect them to get it done. If you have 2 people interrupting then you expect them both to get their act together. Meters are a tool used primarily by pugs and second tier raiding guilds that are trying to do their best with no real appreciation for how to accomplish it. They believe things can be fixed "on the fly" and once you overgear the raid, they are probably right. Once half the raid is overgeared and the other half is trying to get gear, those groups throw the numbers around like they mean more than they actually do. I have seen this over and over again in alt pug raids and when I raid with other guilds. That said, you will get your way and this game will eventually have dps meters. They always do.
  15. This isn't real life. Assassins are tougher than Mercs when specced right.
  16. I could not disagree more. The game is too buggy, especially with ERROR 9000, for there to be any penalty for deserting. You do know that when you get DC'ed from the game, you get booted from the warfront and get the deserter debuff. Losing commendations as well would be utterly ridiculous.
  17. I agree with you about the UI mods. I agree to disagree about the dps meters. I do, however, believe that environment can affect community and, accordingly, dps meters would have a detrimental effect on the experience of the game for many people. They always have. That said, my disagreement will ultimately be irrelevant. They are coming. It's just a matter of time.
  18. Exactly. I played soccer, baseball and basketball in High School and NCAA D1 soccer in college. I never had any "meters" or objective metrics that would accurately portray my performance. Some games in which I scored a bunch of points, were not my best and in others, when my point totals were low, I dominated. That's the nature of team sports. Score 3 goals and lose, then you didn't do enough to get it done; score 0 and win and you may have effected facets of the game that are missed by the clueless fans. That said, meters can be useful, but there are way too many idiots out there who misuse them. They are fine for seeing personal differences in dps between builds/gear/etc because the information is in the difference. They are useless for just about anything else. They are especially worthless for evaluating someone else's dps after a wipe. Those numbers, outside some obvious issues like someone being afk, are completely worthless. Unfortunately, that's exactly how they will be used. As for the guy who said it's the inherent nature of the people in the community and not the tool that defines the quality of the experience, I agree with you. Still, why do the equivalent of giving an idiot a gun?
  19. If you are serious, I am worried about you. Merc is a ranged class; Sith Warriors are melee. You can hurt someone over and over within the same distance than a Jug can reach them for one hit. Do you understand the issue now?
  20. Seriously, what is this all about. It interferes with the game constantly and has nothing whatsoever to do with my connection, which is the fastest available. This has to be fixed.
  21. Strafe and spam back stab and it will go off sometimes.
  22. This has not been my experience, but I have talented smash to do as much damage as possible. I fly in, smash once and clean up what's left. I kill faster and take less damage than my BH at the same level.
  23. Seems only fair since their abilities hit us like a wet noodle.
  24. I have had great success with groups, but cc is important in the Heroic 4s. You aren't going to tank everything and survive. You need cc, you need to use an offtank. DPS with heals may have to toss a spare heal or bubble out there now and again. This is not an easy game when you get into the 4 man group stuff. It isn't hard either, you just need to have a plan and execute it. Running in, grabbing everything and tanking it alone, is no plan.
