As a note, you do not need to redecorate your Strongholds. The information on your decoration placement is stored properly and once we fix the issue, will return your Stronghold to its correctly decorated state.

I hope so!!!!

I've placed thousands of decorations (9 strongholds)

I've built large pictures using hundreds of trophies.

If someone would tell me please do it it again I would just delete my strongholds and that's it.

I don't have the time or the ambition to figure out the old position and replace the whole stuff.

When is this fix likely to happened? My blood pressure can't take the level of anger caused by this kind of mess up!

I decorated my guild stronghold, went in to a different area, and hit the reset room, everything was removed, hours of work gone, yet when i contacted CS, I was told nothing can be done. So how can your error be fixed and not the other issue?

Their issue:

The deco settings stored on the server (rotation, offset) are still there the stored deco settings are just not being honored properly when displayed.

Your issue:

You clicked the reset room button that reset the deco settings for that room that are stored on the server.

One (theirs) is a display issue with the data still intact server-side, the other (yours) is that you reset the server-side data - it's gone.

I hope that helps to clear up how the two situations are different.

What happened to fixing ranged companion AI? Thats been borked a ridiculous amount of time

You mean comps are not moving correctly and stuck in plain sight? I was doing directive 7 mat farming with my shae vizla and she got stuck on the first gate, looks like it is about doors and gateways and certain objects but not all? I moved a bit far and she jumped onto air and respawned near me

I also noticed randomly stops shooting, reminds me my early days of TES Skyrim modding in Creation Kit, Legate Rikke always stucks on something especially around objects and doors, can be fixed by placing correct nav/path and deleting wrong ones, I'm not sure if this is the case with MMO games as well

Musco's post on the ranged comp issue on 03.11.2019:

This will not be fixed in this patch. We definitely understand this is a big issue, on our side it is also a pretty large undertaking to resolve. We have people actively working on the fix but I would not expect it super soon. I do not believe it is in 5.10.2 (our next major patch) but it is in the works to hopefully come thereafter.

I will provide more details as I get them.

The issue is that ranged comps that are entered into combat with an npc that is >30m from them will no longer run into range to perform actions, they just idle. They continue to idle even if the combat and npc then enters the comps 30m range.

Yes that is exactly what happened with my shae vizla as well, she just stays there forever until I defeated the droids she comes all the way by running behind me and sometimes magically "runs" onto air and respawns near me, I can see she gets up near me right after she respawned,

Same here, my strongholds are completely messed up. All the decorations are completely displaced. Not just one, but all of the decorations. I really hope that I can be restored because I had put a lot of effort in my strongholds to decorate them the way they are.

From the sounds of things, it is a display issue - they still have the information about where all our decorations are, but that info isn't being translated into what we see. If everything was picked up, though, all the information would be gone.

That makes sense :)

Apparently the data on current room decorations is there, but there is an error in displaying it. When you reset the room, you deleted the data on the room decorations. That's the difference.

problem was I reset one room, but for some reason, it reset the whole ship :(

But it's a different situation then what we have he it seems :(

Edit For some reason's someone else post came up as the quote? i had to do it manually...lol

That's typically what happens. Pick up room has never worked well and this has always been my experience when using it (losing a lot more than a single room).

Iirc it resets per unlock. So if you reset a room in the starting area (which for example in Tatooine means balcony, a lot of the outside area etc.) it resets a lot. If you reset a room that was unlocked separately, it resets that room only. I THINK that's how it works, I might be wrong though.

You very well may be correct! I never connected the two, but this is very possibly what happens.

Playing Better Homes & Starships is one of the few things that keeps me subscribed, so I can access my piles of stored credits to buy the new shiny furniture pixels when they come out. I've dumped easily hundreds of hours into my strongholds getting everything where I want it (to say nothing of all the real world and game world money I've sunk into buying what I need to get the look just right). The fact that not only is everything borked but I can't even fix it manually is incredibly infuriating.

There'd better be a patch for this tomorrow. If not, I will unsubscribe until it is fixed.

That is kinda how it works, yes. However, it also counts doors as the limiters of rooms. For example, if you ever use the "pick up all decos in one room" button while you're standing literally anywhere in the Yavin stronghold, it will remove EVERYTHING from the entire stronghold. Why? Because there are no doors left after you unlock expansions in Yavin; the devs decided to make all the doors crumble away into dust, leaving open archways. As a result, the game treats all of Yavin as one big continuous room.

Also, if you are in a separate room in a stronghold and the door is closed, you can usually (but not always) pick up everything in that one room without difficulty. However, if the room door is still open (and we all know how often stronghold doors stick open even after toons have moved away from them), then the decoration removal effect will spill out into the next area.

TL;DR - That button has been completely broken since strongholds were introduced and EAWare has never bothered to fix it. That is why I never ever EVER use the "pick up all decos in a room" button. You never know how much will get ripped up.

UGH...first companions were borked for like 2 months straight after Ossus dropped and now this.

Please don't take as long to fix it(December through February) as you did with returning Dark Jaesa to Sith Warriors who chose to kill her in combat for personal continuity, but enjoyed questing with her anyway.

I love this game, I continuously defend it from haters, I have tattoos of raid bosses from this game, working on cosplays, etc. So it really takes A LOT for me to complain on the forums, but like many here I've poured HOURS into Dromund Kaas, Coruscant, Nar Shadda, Yavin 4 and now Rishi. Matter of fact after 3 years of obsessively decorating Coruscant, i *just* decided to open it to the public because I deemed it good enough to see. This was the night before the patch dropped and screwed everything up. So crushing :jawa_frown:

Now I have to.....fish lost NPCs out of statues. NPCS purchased from expensive NPC deco packs.

Please take this seriously as this messed up hours spent poring over designs and creative solutions to poor hook placements.

"Borked" rightly sums up the mess they've made. The lack of Dev updates in relation to this and the recent post about new decorations AFTER reports of the bug make me wonder if they will be sticking their heads in the sand on this issue as they have no idea how to fix it (that post about new decorations knowing full well there is an issue was really rubbing salt into the wounds as the saying goes).

Now I'm curious and really want to visit your Coruscant stronghold, should they fix the problem. Also, good use of the word "borked". Your last point about applying creative solutions to poor hook placements is well made. I have spent hours doing the same. I'm not sure they take us decorators seriously. I wonder what the Queen of Strongholds Lunafox would have made of this mess if she was still here.

Yet another new patch. Yet another bug introduced.

Just yesterday there was this thread in which the high quality that this game has since Mr. Kanneg is in charge was praised.

It's a minor bug that will get fixed. It doesn't impact gameplay in any way. I know it's annoying, but it's a visual bug...it'll be fixed next week I bet.

Hey folks,

The team is going to be bouncing all servers to push out a server side fix which will address the decoration issue. We will be bringing the servers down at 11AM central (20 minutes from now) and the servers will be down for an hour or less. There will not be a patch to download.

Excellent. I knew the Space Ghostbusters would be along soon to kick Marr out of my strongholds. Tricksy ghost Marr coming in and rearranging all of my furniture. Who does he think he is, a poltergeist?

Belated reply to Sarova since my Internet died while I attempted to post this the first time.

I looked at all the other "damage" done last night, but was too tired to look at Coruscant. I'm there now and boyyyyyyyyyy the "crown jewel" of my strongholds(despite being a dyed-in-the-wool darksider I am proudest of my Pub digs at the moment) ain't what it used to be. My LS alliance HQ/L'il Zakuul Coruscant garage doesn't quite showcase all the time I spent arranging those Star Fortress tech wall panels into little partitions.

Onto upstairs..*sigh* My Brontes-themed evil Jedi's bedroom is so whack. I had a Brontes statue at the foot of her bed and it was lit by the Holocron of Despair just right, but now it's just a bunch of random *stuff* positioned in *random places*. But the worst is my joint Trooper/Smuggler bedroom, which is a complete disaster. I had a Coratanni statue positioned to be the headboard of my Gunslinger's bed, which also doubled as a little casino area for Corso and that lead into a little sit & chill enclave. You'd have never guessed that looking at it now. I couldn't make it look more "randomly thrown together" if I tried.

You're welcome to look at my disaster of a house. It's White Swan's Temple of Light on Star Forge. I haven't made it private.

*****EDITED TO SAY**********

Hopefully with the fix this post will be irrelevant, but hey, I spent time typing it before Comcast decided to..be Comcast, so I'm gonna post it anyway.
