As usual you guys OVER-nerfed the thing...the 45ish% to even get another chip is absolutely asinine...if you wanna nerf the other drop rates..fine (though they're a tad overdone too.) But seriously, these "faux" slot machines are nothing of the sort. And if this is how you're going to handle any possible future (faux) slot-machines, then don't bother. I could expand on that but others have already said more than I could about why this nerf is ridiculous and WAY over-blown. Oh and to those that will say "did we really need ANOTHER thread?" I say this; YES we do. We need the forums OVERFLOWING with these threads. BioWare needs to tone-done this nerf and actually make this (faux) slot-machine work like a slot-machine is SUPPOSED too...at the very least. I have gone to casino's before. My very first spin on a slot machine cost me $1...I won $100. But keep that response...no matter how stupid and unrelated it is. Real slot machines are designed to make you want to keep going (as I said) and give you a small chance of making a lot more than you spend (which I and many others also said) 2/10 troll harder. Very other time you win you should get a chance at the other rep tokens and jawa green and blue junk. Maybe increase the drop rate of the rep tokens and also maybe increase their resell value so whether you are girding out dailies for an hour and make 100k or a person chooses to do the slot machine for an hour the reward credits wise equals the same. If need be lower the cartel chip coat if that helps keeping profit in line. Some people rather than bogging down planets with lag or taking a spawn that make people wait for a new spawn would rather sit in front of the slot machine since the stronghold is instances it's less lag for people on the server and less wait time for spawns I think this helps the game. So the drop rate should be revisited and I don't think we need to really get on Eric's case they made a trek it didn't pan out great they can tweet it again to make it more in line. It's a process. So let's ask them nicely to re adjust it. I think that once they have it set perfect they can use that same formula for newer machines as well just change out the items won. The only way for BW/EW to understand what its customers are thinking is to see their customers' response. If only a few people said something about it, then BW/EW would not understand the magnitude of dissatisfaction with things that they do. Two or three threads on a topic with hundreds, or thousands of responses does not have the same impact as hundreds of threads with hundreds or thousands of responses. EW/BW need to be careful they do not repeat CCP's mistake. CCP took their player base for granted and expected them to just shell out money despite similar bait and switch tactics. The result was that tens of thousands of subscribers ALL cancelled their subscriptions. EvE Online almost died. Since then, CCP have been very careful not to pull a stunt like that again. Now here we are with BW/EW doing something very similar. They put out a message telling folks that all was in order, but that only a "slight adjustment" was to be made. The real cash sales for this contraband pack went through the roof. Then when it turned out that the "slight adjustment" was really a castration... A lot of people are really mad. They spent real money for this, and now they're finding that they've been ripped off (or at least that's how many of them feel about it). It's one thing for a player to tell another player, "Quit yer whining", and "Stop spamming this topic", but if EW/BW start closing threads on this or any other hot topic, because it was spam.... I think that a "Quit yer whining" reply from EW/BW would cause folks to really stop playing this game. It happened to CCP. They did major damage control, and it took a very long time before their change in attitude won back some of their lost subscribers. The difference is that CCP is a single company with a small employee count. CCP was really gonna die. They took steps to fix the ill will that was created with their "shut up and give me your money" attitude. BW is a subsidiary of EW. If EW says, "we're not making anymore money on this game, BW. Shut it down." BW's response will be to shut the game down. Personally, I didn't start buying any CC's until about three months ago, and I didn't start buying hyper-crates until then, either. With this stunt that BW/EW pulled, I have decided to stop buying anymore CC's. I'm just gonna pay my monthly sub and that's it. So, here we have at least one instance, where they have gained a new recurring customer for their CM shop, and with this stunt have lost that customer forever. Instead of, $40 + $14.99 from me, each month, now they'll only get $14.99 each month. I'm sure that I am not the only one who has resolved to stop buying CC's because of what happened. CM is gonna lose a lot of hard-won customers, because of this. What BW/EW says and does next will be very, very crucial to how a huge chunk of their customer base will respond. The way casinos work is that only a few people win. Yes the people that win make a "profit" but the vast majority of the people going through the casino are losing money. That's not something that'll keep most people pouring credits into the machine. I had a CHANCE to win much more than $100...I was lucky to get that $100 but there was still a MUCH LARGER prize I could have won. the majority lose..that's how the casino makes profit..but they keep playing because there's that CHANCE to win the "big prize" the (faux) slot machine we got from BioWare (post nerf) has absolutely NO "big prize." And you're CERTAIN to LOSE a TON of money..there is no "getting lucky" as I did with my very first time on a real machine. But thanks for playing. Maybe spend more than two seconds thinking before posting? Whatever... Only ones defending this change are the price-gougers anyway. There's no point trying to debate it with you lot.
