With sand people shooting at them and banging about into each other. Parts could have Weights as a state so you engine compartment would for example only be able to be 10 lbs. or what ever weight is used in that galaxy. then you fan blades whould be 3 lbs. your combustion chamber would be 5 lbs. and after burners would be 2 lbs or whatever so if you got better fan blades they might weigh more and you would have to get a lighter after burner or combustion chamber. with the gambling you could have a few options as well. with the "official" venders offering odds based on player stats of number of wins/loses and did not finish. so with 10 racers normally that would be like 9:1 odds. but the casino needs to make its money to so have it pay out at 8. so for example. I place 1000 credits on a driver at 9:1 and he wins. I would only get 8000 credits back in the mail an hour later. if you have a driver that always seems to win. his odds would be adjusted down from that because the house is more likly to lose that bet. you could have less reputable vendors that allow other types of bets. like a blue racer will win. some times they pay some times you have to shake them down for your money. sometimes they don't have your money and you have to take some loot inplace of money. Now swoop racing would be a much better choice. i agree swoop racing would be great, i liked it on KOTOR havnt played it in a long time but i remember the swoop race where you saved bastila it was short but fun, i beat it on my first time. But it cant be pod, due Lore - except there is some looong quest line which might give you the chance to learn such power. Might be a better idea to have a crew member who does race for you, and you must gear his pod etc. so he has a better chance of winning. Either way, would sure be some fun.
