    PvP arggggg

I don't get it. I don't have that sort of experience at all in Darth Malgus. Maybe the US servers are simply toxic? Unless you are facing a pre-made. At that point, yeah, just take the debuff and go do something else until they are no longer around. The debuff is still a good thing. But, the win requirement is not something i feel too strongly about. But, i get where they are coming from to have people actually try rather than just not care. I dunno. I am not feeling those pains.
  2. Vote to kick systems are two edged swords indeed. I confess, and this might speak more to me as a player that tends to respect other's time, i have experienced more vote to kick abuse than legitimate use in this game. Though it happens on others too. It is probably easier to auto-detect a player that is afk or disconnected and auto-kick them from the group after X time than it is to ever be able to stop human beings from behaving like total trash. Also, people are more mindless than ever these days and just the pop up of the vote to kick screen is answered with a yes just to get it outside people's screen's, without any thought given. I have seen the system abused in that manner over and over again and it is often a matter of who managed to vote kick the other first. Because most people don't care and just want to get the flashpoint over with. So, yes. If you can add detection systems for afk/disconnect please remove the vote to kick function in flashpoints too.
  3. I know i didn't communicate it well, but yes, i agree with you. I would be pissed off if i was doing edge raiding or PvP'ing and was forced to do the other. What i meant is that i understand the problem they are trying to solve, which is to incentivize participation on certain types of content and introduce a catch-up mechanism for struggling raid groups. Incentivizing is ok, forcing is not. Adding a slower method of acquiring these for casual players though, would basically solve the problem for all as casual content is within reach of all players. That is kind of where i am coming from. In particular, i think the place for it is conquest as it has been for many months. The speed at which we can craft them can be adjust in the crafting material requirements. To stop stacking alts, if it's a problem, they can always just allow the reward X times per account per week. But, tbh with you, now being more self-centered is that these upgrades will find their way to top end players and then they will use them to cut off other players. My main content is regs atm. Organized pre-mades are already a problem. You can bet these people will come to regs with their pre-made and wreck even more havok, further hurting the queue and enjoyment of other players. Basically, this plan has everything to worsen the situation of all players, while only marginally improving the situation of some. It's not an exciting prospect the way it is being handled now.
  4. Gonna be honest here. I understand why you are doing it. But, it will mean pain to everyone that is not a top end player. You could at least give a slower method of acquiring the materials for more casual players to also have objectives to strive for.
  5. There is no such thing as a republic side. Warzones are mixed with both factions. Flawed, one sided argument. No one is stopping you from playing with your friends in the modes for pre-made groups. It does not entitle you to ruin the experience of those that want to have a quick casual drop in drop out experience.
  6. No? Why do i need to get over it? They need to get over the fact that no one wanted to play with them and it doesn't entitled them to come ruin other people's experiences. Btw it's time to realize that there is a difference between a random pug and an organized pre-made. This is not about your silly group that is just messing around. It's about organized arena groups that focus burst targets in 2 seconds and are geared to the teeth with ideal comps and peels. Warzones are not competitive arenas. Those people have no business in casual PvP with their premade. They should have to follow the rules everybody else is. The only way to enforce it is to limit how many can queue at once and force them to fight each other as much as they can fight together.
  7. You are only griefed cause you are too lazy to port to the fleet and buy the vaccine from the bar. At this point, maybe you deserve to be griefed? Don't be lazy. You have the power to fix your problem.
  8. Implying that when you queue solo you aren't playing with others. Problem aren't pugs, it's organized groups. In fact, there is a premade vs premade mode, but alas it's deserted. So, if that mode is deserted it means there isn't enough interest eh? It doesn't entitle you to come ruin the fun of those queuing randomly on their own mode for casual pvp. This is like a kid that broke his toy and then is trying to break the toy of the kid next to him too. It's gonna be fun when there is no more toy for anyone cause of that selfishness. The mode is supposed to be fun for all, not just for the few that exploit it. Especially with the penalty now, people will just stop queuing for that nonsense. Oh and btw, back in the day there were no voice coms and min-maxing. We live in a different world now.
  9. 15m is the standard of these penalties. They are not rewards for the leaver, they are penalties. They are not supposed to be convenient. They are supposed to incentivize you from not leaving games and making a worse experience for everyone else. Sure, we are getting WZ selection from what the devs said. But, don't think it will be all roses. It will mean less map variety and longer queue times. Not so cool when you think of that eh? Nope. Huttball has been awesome since day one bar net code issues which have nothing to do with it. You don't like it? It's a you thing. I mean, you say that but then proceed to do it. Which is you saying: I joined for Warzones, but i don't like this map and will send another person here that might or might not like this map and then he leaves too, etc. leading to trains, losing matches and queue ruined cause this was allowed in the first place. It is exactly an example of the selfish behaviour i was talking about. You want to think you are doing a good thing, but you aren't. You are exploiting the system. You queued for a Warzone and you got a warzone. I can understand when it comes to Arena cause it's a different game structure (4v4), but you were doing no one any favors by leaving those matches. It's win-lose if anything. Win cause matches are now more stable wihtout people leaving and joining all the time and actually trying to win, rather than just lolz about (though there are some who still do that ofc). Lose is only for those that like you would leave matches at the first sign of not being exactly what you wanted. Hey, we will see how that is gonna end up. I just hope the queue timers aren't so screwed up that it will be end of regs as well.
  10. I mean... really?! "Lets ask the devs to work on this cause i'm too lazy to port to the fleet and buy a stack of vaccines from the bar" Of course. Of course dev time should be used like that. We don't have more pressing matters. It literally take you one minute to solve the problem.
  11. Oh yes, terrible devs for making what every other mmo makes. The penalties are there for a reason. The penalty is not the problem. Pre-mades are. They need to make regs a solo or no more than 2 man queue. Also no, Huttball is awesome and your post proves why the penalty is necessary cause in a tirade of self interest you ruin the game for some and the queue for others. So, yes, you do deserve a penalty if you do that.
  12. Honestly, i don't agree. Snipers can only heal with roll (20 sec CD) and if you catch them outside hunker, they will melt. They have a lot of defensive's cause they need them. If there is no healer there, so they can dps, they are not that strong.
  13. As pointed out, the level lock is in place so they don't have to re-balance everything with every expansion. It is not an ideal situation, but it is a logical one from a development pov. So, any suggestions you have, you should give them with regards to how to improve the system. Suggesting to remove it, is not helpful.
  14. It doesn't matter. This game already has better lighting than WoW (and saw improvements in Onslaught actually). This game actually looks really nice despite all people say about the engine. The issue is performance, not the graphics. Anyways, the team has been focusing on back end improvements and i think that is important. In particular how they are working to improve performance and hopefully end desync issues. They have been fixing the base game as well, improving the presentation with for example the new planet intros. Those things were horrid for years with Taris for example being a planet of noticeable mess of green pixels. Now it actually looks really nice and is immersive. They said they are working on fixing some issues with quests as well. Conquest systems have been better integrated too. So, i am hoping that once these are done and the foundation is there, that we can see more focus on content. But, yeah, it would be awesome to see a meaty expansion like other mmo's get.
  15. Ok, ok... let's stop the silliness. Almost all of those reasons are extremely rare in occurrence. We know it is: 1. Not liking the map 2. Ragequit 3. Pre-mades sapping all the fun of a fair match. Problem 1 is being worked on and is coming. Though, i still maintain that people don't know what they are asking for and will lead to map repetition and longer queue times. But, it is what it is. Problem 2 is what the de buff is for. You want to rage quit? Fine. But, you gonna get 15m to cool off for making it worse on other players and ruining the queue. Also, all those rare ones you are bringing up. If something is more important than the game you are playing, then you can probably take 15m to sort it out. Problem 3, is still unaddressed. The de buff was needed. People were abusing the system and making a worse experience for everyone else. It is for the best.

    Ops break the game

They are slippery, but they are vulnerable. You have to know when to stun them. Once you do, they will start melting. The roll has a green shield effect and a cooldown. You will know when they will run out of it. Unless they can predict you, they will get stunned or need to use other defensives. The only problem i have is the large heals. I do think this only happens with the dot spec though. Lethality and equivalent.
  17. High-five! Love Huttball! Anyways, yeah, the debuff is a necessary evil. Try and think that it's not just about YOU, OP. When you leave a BG you are screwing the queue and other players. It's not all about your fun, it's about everyone's fun. Actually, i'd say people brought this on themselves for abusing the system. Maybe now you can try a bit harder eh?
  18. Yes, i played the other day and it was a blast. Seriously, it's the best PvP in an mmorpg for me. I love it to bits. If only Bioware tackled those pesky pre-mades in regs, i would be having fun non-stop.
  19. Anyways... about the topic. Despite the ardent defenders we got here, you are completely right. It's what's stopping the game from growing more substantially. You have to forgive them. We are thankful that the game is still running and that content is still coming. For a time back then, things got grim and silent. But, we all have confidence in the dev team that we have now and how they are communicating better. They are fixing things with the game that were broken since launch (and were ignored) and the game is simply fun to play, and also in a more presentable state. That is really good and we are happy about that. But, i share your opinion that the main problem with this game is the pace at which content gets developed. Mind you, it was even worse than now at one point. Now, things are moving forward. My hope is that they are fixing the base game, which they are, so they can show growth and retention and hopefully lobby for more funding and resources. But, there is no doubt in my mind that if this game had content delivered in comparable pace as a TESO, a FFXIV or a WoW, it would manage to maintain a much larger player base. Unfortunately, that is something Bioware never came even close to delivering. Not even at launch. But, as fans of the game, we love to play it and see it in the right track and it's much better than the rut it was in. Things are looking up now. Even if nowhere near the other big mmo's. It's ok to take a break btw. I do that. I love this game and it is my favorite mmo, but it doesn't deliver enough content to satisfy me. So, i unsub for a few months, log in F2P sometimes and resub when it strikes me. As it is, this mmo is better as a complementary mmo than a main course one, i'd say. Sandwich it with the luls of other mmo's and you will find it well worthwhile. Not that it can't be a main mmo, if you love playing it. You can always come up with new things to do. Strongholds, alts, coming up with great looking gear sets, replaying stories, etc. I am just happy it's a fun game, cause the other better supported mmo's just aren't nearly as fun to play to me. Not terrible, but not this good.
  20. That's cause they haven't in practice left yet. So, your rhetoric is the one faltering. That drama is still coming next year. Not that things have been well, so i dunno where you get those ideas. xD
  21. Hmm... i don't think that was what i was pointing out. The debuff is fine cause leaving a match is not a good thing to have to do so you can try to be lucky to get a warzone one. That is why i agree that an option would be a good thing. People who still want to pvp regardless of it being warzone or arena could still do so, and the queue wouldn't depopulate cause of it as others would just stay in queue until there are enough for a warzone.
  22. You could already do that. There is plenty of Bounty hunter gear on the shop any class can use you could put on any companion, just as you can get some trooper gear for her. It's within your power to fix the "problem".
  23. No one every said that it was an exclusive. They are time sensitive promotions/sub rewards. Even if they actually said that word, i am guessing it was in relation to the reward being exclusive to subscribers, not that the reward itself was exclusive. How is this any different than a rare item appearing on the daily sale on the cartel market?
