  1. Nope. Replace all stuns with break on damage. Already cancelled sub, with cc being one of the major reasons.
  2. CC and Ilum. Already cancelled recurring, got a couple of days left.
  3. Cancelled my sub today, had enough of the cc in this game. I did ok, I don't have too many issues with balance overall. When the game is good it's good, but when it's bad I'm ripping my hair out so I'm losing the desire to bother logging in. I really have a problem with the number of times I find myself unable to fight back like you are just supposed to accept that if there's 2 players who have stuns you should just lay down and die. It has to be the worst gameplay mechanic I've ever come across.
  4. This games CC is nothing like Warhammer. In war a stun would grant you a buff providing immunity to that same kind of cc, multiple times the length of the duration of the initial CC. Bioware need to actually learn from Mythic devs. Anything that prevented you from using abilities including stun, stagger, silence and disarm would grant you the unstoppable buff giving immunity to those types of cc. Movement CC like root, pull and knockback gives the Immovable buff which provides immunity to that kind of CC.
  5. People seem to often say that but actually Mythic solved a lot of problems and implemented many measures that made open pvp good and worthwhile in warhammer and I hear in daoc too. I'm continuously surprised that Bioware have implemented very few those solutions or taken very little advantage of Mythic developers 3 years of experience working almost entirely on open pvp, not to mention previous daoc development. Whatever bad name warhammer got through it's failure to maintain big numbers of subscribers, they did eventually produce very viable open pvp that was not just zerg v zerg. The PvP experience in war is much better than swtor. I can't understand why Gabe Amatangelo who worked on warhammer hasn't taken the good parts of warhammer and used them on swtor.
  6. The best solution for mele isn't to make it easier to yoink targets out of the zerg so that you can kill something, it's to disperse those zergs with viable PvP zones, objectives and rulesets. Don't balance classes around the cluster f*** that is Ilum, it's broken and requires drastic remodelling.
  7. Fix the games ridiculous reliance on CC. Fix Ilum.

    CC

Broken game. Just logged off early, can't be arsed with it right now.
  9. They've balanced it so that multiple people can perma stun a player long enough for them to die without the ability to respond. That is a game breaker. If someone is outnumbered they are already outdps'd, it's total overkill to also have them unable to attempt to fight back in any way throughout the whole fight and all it achieves is killing the fun. It's completely out of balance.
  10. I'd have no problems with classes that absolutely rely on CC recieving some adjustments. Not necessarily the ones you suggested, a boost in defense so that they could take an extra hit might work. There's multiple ways to balance things. As for healers, if stuns where replaced with mez you can still take out healers while you focus the healee but people would have to actually think about what they are doing rather than mindlessly blasting AoE all over the place. Replacing stuns with mez would add an extra tactical dimension to the game as opposed to the current stun > nuke fest we have.
  11. Consecutive, non breakable stuns are the main problem. There should be an automatic immunity to same type CC for x number of seconds. If you want to temporarily take a player out of a fight fine but you shouldn't be able to nuke them down while they're incapable of responding in any way. Replace the majority of stuns with mez. Make all stuns max 3 secconds. Add automatic immunity for x seconds to same cc type after affected.
  12. You're arguing against a none existant position that noone wants anyway so that you can use absolute sounding arguments about how bad it would be. Nobody wants no CC. I want CC that does not allow for the prevention of people being able to participate in a fight. Also I don't enjoy stop>start>stop>start>stop>start game play, it's incredibly frustrating.
  13. 2v1 or 3v1 I should be outdps'd for sure. I should not be prevented from participating in the fight.
  14. Simple topic, post whether you like or dislike the current CC system and also your archetype i.e. mele dps, ranged dps, healer, tank. Optionally add your reasons. The reason for the topic, there is seemingly a huge disparity with some people who really like the system and others who absolutely hate it. For me it would seem that this may well depend on whether you are likely to be a target of a lot of CC which very often will come down to your archetype and playstyle. So I'm curious to see the playstyles of those that like the current system as opposed to those that don't. It could provide useful insight. Mele dps: dislike. Reason: stun locked to death from multiple opponents often. Stop>start>stop>start game play hugely frustrating. /in before l2resolve.
  15. I'd be interested to see people post their archetype i.e. rdps, mdps, healer, etc when they post their like/dislike. Me mdps: dislike(read hate). Copied my post from other thread: The CC in this game is beyond ridiculous. Knowing how resolve works has only a minor effect. Chain stunning people to death is a broken mechanic that will damage the fun of pvp enough for people to make them simply leave the game. Not because they want the game to be easier but because they actually need to have fun as opposed to ranting at their screen in frustration at being out of control of their character for stupid amounts of time whilst anyone/everyone nearby is free to nuke them. This is not a learn to play issue. The resolve system is totally insuffucient. The people defending it can't be the classes/archetypes that are are affected by this. Stuns should last max 3 seconds and only certain classes should have them. There should be an automatic immunity to the same type of CC for x seconds afterwards. The majority of stuns need to be replaced with break on damage stun or "mez". It need's changing significantly. CC and Ilum are the 2 single items on my peronal list of things that will prevent me subbing beyond 3 months.

  17. No, thats my last 12 bags that I've kept count of results
  18. It's possible but you'd have to see more examples to get a proper idea. If people could post their valor rank and number of comms out of their last 10 bags for example. Mine valor 64, 4 comms out of 10 bags.
  19. In what way is it broken, any details other than that post? Since patch, 4 out of 5 days worth of dailies I've received a bm comm so 4 out of 10 bags which seems like a short lucky run, 1 in 2.5 chance. Before that I would say I was getting average luck.
  20. It depends who/what I come up against. 1v1 I do fine. Stun lock deaths and the oh so frustrating stop>move>stop>move>stop>dead type fights happen in busier fights which is a bad design no matter how many people are focussing me. You should always be allowed to respond in some way unless 4+ people crit you simultaneously. For me, all stuns should be replaced with break on damage staggers or roots. I don't care if they have to lower dps or something else to balance it, I don't want to be able to kill anyone more or less easily than currently. How to explain it: you want to be somewhere 5 seconds ago but each time you think right now i can move you get stopped again or slowed and you start to lean into the screen like it will make you move faster and stopped again, it's like some kind of psychological torture. There are times when it drives me nuts. This is the first mmo to make me shout out loud at my screen and it's usually down to cc. While I'm fine in 1v1s, over the last few weeks I've come across 2 snipers(?) in cover(so no leap) that have been able to slow/root/stun me enough so that I'm dead before I can get in mele range, not quite sure on the class/spec. But that's another story.
