I didn't actually verify his claim (or my memory of it). 3733 is still pretty great, but obviously it doesn't break 3.8k. There is a simpler approach Set the start time as when the fight started, and then play around with the end time till you get 'just' over 1 million for damage done. In this case, it was 4:30.381 for a DPS of ~3733.12. Yes and no. 25,64% Critchance by taking all 3 points in critichance instead of alacrity in healing tree, plus two critrating-enhancements. Average infight critchance by most of the top sorc/sages parses stays at 37-38%. I got 2% more critchance, which results in a 2% higher overall infight critchance. Anyone thinking top parses are averages or even slightly normal is lacking in experience of how these things work. You roll the dice hundreds of times and pick the best one with the highest damage rolls and the best crit start. As long as you understand the fluffing people do its usable as a measuring stick. The same goes for raid dps, do you understand why that spec can do X damage in that fight, is it adds, is it multidotting, is it in fact a realistic thing to be doing or is it a combination of things which is boosting the overall damage.
